Chapter 182: [Castle Bonus Chapter] Helen Vs Mira

More and more similar discussions rapidly spread across countless forums and viewing channels.

Those who had once regarded the nullborns with curiosity gradually realized a fact they found almost impossible to accept.

Even now The four Void Race contestants remained undefeated. Not a single one of their battles had truly become difficult.

The mystery that people had originally believed existed merely because of a lack of information was gradually transforming, through one crushing victory after another, into an ever heavier and more inescapable sense of oppression.

Inside the Human VIP suite, the expressions of several Association executives had become noticeably grim.

"If even the Guidance Barrier cannot restrain him..." One Association executive said in a low voice. "Then ordinary defensive skills will be almost completely useless."

Another turned his gaze toward the contestant area. Eventually, his eyes settled upon Zich.

"What about Zich?"

Before Alden’s defeat, many had looked forward to Zich’s battle against Nameless as an opportunity to uncover more of the Void Race’s secrets.

After personally witnessing how Ainos dismantled one of Humanity’s greatest youngest players within only a few minutes. That anticipation had inevitably become mixed with concern.

Even those who had possessed tremendous confidence in Zich now began seriously wondering for the first time Could he truly withstand attacks that were impossible to track, impossible to predict, and guided by such terrifying judgment?

...

Within the contestant area, Zich signed.

:And here I thought, he might actually put on a show.’ he thought silently in his heart.

Just like every human present, a part of him had been hoping that Alden would defeat the nullborn as in his heart no matter how detached he was, he was still a human and the natural support and care for his race was still there.

"Slimmy, do you think we can take on that guy?" Zich asked stroking the slim on his laps.

Slimmy raised it’s head looked over at the nullborn and then a firce fighting look that almost appeared cute appeared on his face.

Swing his pets look, Zich couldn’t help but smile.

"Now...that’s the spirit."

...

After Alden was carried away from the arena by the medical staff, the scattered fragments of his tower shield were still not immediately cleared from the battlefield. Those metallic remains, once covered with pale golden Guidance patterns, had already lost all of their luster, lying silently across the cracked ground.

As countless Human spectators gazed at the fragments of what they had once regarded as their most reliable line of defense, the confidence that had only just been rekindled by Helen’s hard fought victory also seemed to have been mercilessly extinguished along with the shattering of the shield.

The staff quickly entered the battlefield to repair the damaged ground, while the tournament did not pause because of Humanity’s silence. As the next matchup appeared upon the enormous projection screen high above, Jayden slowly opened his eyes and stepped into the arena amid the deafening cheers of the Smith Family’s supporters. His opponent was none other than Carlos of the Velhari Race, renowned for his ferocious close combat and twin axe fighting style.

Carlos clearly had no intention of giving Jayden any time to prepare. The instant the match began, he launched into an almost frenzied charge. His pair of heavy battle axes descended one after another with enough force to split apart stone walls, yet from beginning to end, Jayden did not retreat a single step. Using only one hand, he accurately blocked every attack. Only when Carlos’s momentum had reached its peak did Jayden suddenly take a single step forward and calmly press one palm against his opponent’s chest.

Boom!

Carlos’s massive body instantly left the ground, the entire man flying backward dozens of meters as though he had been struck head on by a battering ram before crashing heavily into the energy barrier, immediately losing the ability to continue fighting. Meanwhile, not even Jayden’s clothes showed the slightest sign of disorder. After Arthur announced the victory, he simply turned around and walked off the arena, as calm as though what he had just completed was nothing more than the simplest practice session.

"So this is the heir of the Smith Family..."

"Carlos couldn’t even force him to use a skill!"

The gloom brought about by Alden’s crushing defeat was finally dispersed somewhat as the Human spectators erupted into cheers once again.

The following matches likewise produced very few surprises. Lucien relied upon nearly flawless swordsmanship to swiftly dismantle his opponent’s offensive, while Braka sent the Velhari contestant flying head on in a pure clash of strength.

As for the other two Nullborn contestants, they once again ended their battles in that strange manner which no one could completely comprehension, causing everyone’s apprehension toward the Nullborn Race to deepen further with every victory.

As another match came to a swift conclusion, the enormous projection screen high above changed once more. The instant the next pair of names gradually became clear, the entire Human spectators’ section, which had only moments ago still been somewhat noisy, unexpectedly fell silent within an extremely short span of time.

[Helen Magnus — Human Race]

[Mira — Human Race]

Helen, who had been resting with her eyes closed to recover her mana, slowly opened them, while Mira, standing not far away, also gently raised her head. Their gazes crossed over the other contestants before calmly meeting in midair.

Although there was no provocation or any unnecessary words, everyone understood that Humanity was destined to personally eliminate one of its greatest hopes of advancing further in the upcoming battle.

Mithrahs slowly raised the amplification crystal, and even within his voice, there was now an additional trace of anticipation that could no longer be concealed.

"The next match... Helen versus Mira."
