Chapter 907: Chapter 887: Can’t Let The 2 People Continue Developing
Aunt Yue laughed: "Mr. Nie is really gentle with Miss Qiao."
Last time Jiayi had a miscarriage and stayed at the apartment for a while, Aunt Yue already thought Mr. Nie treated Miss Chu well enough.
Aunt Yue had assumed such meticulous tenderness would never again be seen in Nie Yixiao.
That Miss Chu turned out to have someone else and moved back in with her ex-husband, leaving Aunt Yue feeling regretful and pitying toward Mr. Nie.
But last night, when Mr. Nie carried this Miss Qiao back, Aunt Yue personally saw the nervousness on Nie Yixiao’s face.
Nie Yixiao’s expression subtly twitched upon hearing Aunt Yue’s teasing.
Aunt Yue couldn’t help but add: "Actually, although Miss Qiao is a bit young, she pairs quite well with Mr. Nie..."
Nie Yixiao impatiently replied, "Aunt Yue, you’re getting more and more talkative. I’m going to park the car."
He had been busy carrying her inside and hadn’t yet parked the car in the garage.
With those words, he turned and walked out of the apartment in a hurry, his tall and handsome silhouette looking as though he were fleeing.
As he exited the apartment building, the outdoor air brushed against him, calming his thoughts somewhat. He took out his car keys and had just pressed the button when footsteps approached.
"Mr. Nie."
He looked over to see Mike approaching with two subordinates.
He wasn’t surprised that the people from the Longding Society hadn’t left yet. With Qiao Yongyong still here, how could they feel at ease?
Mike’s face looked even worse than it had at the hospital last time. "I thought Mr. Nie was an honorable gentleman who keeps his word, but I didn’t expect you to go back on it. Mr. Nie had said you’d persuade our Miss to leave you, yet now you’re letting her stay at your home. What’s the meaning of this?"
"She went to a bar last night, got drunk, was drugged with date-rape drugs, and nearly assaulted. She got hurt, so she’s staying here temporarily."
Several of them were shocked—such audacity!
Someone actually dared to offend the Miss of the Longding Society! How bold could they possibly be?
"The offender didn’t succeed, and I’ve dealt with it. She’s fine. I’ll take care of her for the next few days, then we’ll talk about this again once she recovers." Nie Yixiao tossed out the statement indifferently and prepared to leave.
One of Mike’s subordinates grew anxious: "Even if our Miss got drunk and hurt herself, she doesn’t have to stay in your apartment. You could send her back to the Huo Family or take her to a hotel instead."
"That’s right. Mr. Nie, please have her leave right now," Mike added sternly.
"If you have the capability, take her away yourselves. Otherwise, stop wasting words."
With that, Nie Yixiao got into his car and drove toward a nearby garage.
Two of the subordinates rushed forward to try to block him, but Mike stopped them.
"Are we just going to let him keep her living with him?" one subordinate asked anxiously.
Of course not.
It was clear that compared to his firm stance at the hospital, Nie Yixiao had softened quite a bit this time.
He seemed far less resistant to Miss now than he had been before.
Mike didn’t know what had happened between the two, but he could clearly see a trace of persistence in Nie Yixiao’s eyes regarding Miss just now.
Mike’s expression darkened.
Miss staying here would only deepen her relationship with Nie Yixiao.
The two of them couldn’t be allowed to continue developing like this.
***
It was late at night.
Qiao Yongyong had dinner, took a bath, changed into her newly bought pajamas, and didn’t see Nie Yixiao around. Aunt Yue told her he was in the study handling matters related to the bodyguard agency, so she quietly walked to the study door.
This apartment was a typical bachelor pad—exquisite, sharp. When he had first arrived at Yunling, he had rented it. Since he’d gotten used to living here and his company was established here, suggesting a sense of permanence, he had simply bought it.
The study door was slightly ajar. She caught sight of the familiar figure sitting on the sofa, looking at his computer.
He wore a white shirt, the cuffs rolled up, his long legs taut and straight as they stretched casually forward. The graceful lines of his firm and athletic wrist supported his temple, his cool yet handsome eyes focused on his work, exuding a restrained and alluring charm.
No matter how many times she looked at him, he was still just as attractive.
Even if she spent a lifetime gazing at him, she wouldn’t grow tired.
As she admired him, his voice suddenly came: "You really like sneaking around, huh."
Startled, she straightened up, awkwardly pushed the door open, and stepped inside.
Nie Yixiao glanced at the girl in front of him, wearing snug pink pajamas that suited her age much better. "The clothes seem to fit well."
"But I still think wearing your pajamas feels more comfortable," she said boldly.
Her tone carried an unmistakable hint of teasing.
He squinted his eyes. If he hadn’t been sure she was truly inexperienced, her ordinarily flirtatious words and behaviors would’ve made it hard to believe she was really untainted.
If this had been before, she’d likely have been kicked out long ago.
But now, for some reason, he said nothing, closed his computer, stood, took a few steps toward her, let his lingering gaze settle on her neckline, and suddenly raised his hand.
Qiao Yongyong’s breath nearly froze. He was unbuttoning the top two buttons of her clothes!
Could it be that he was craving for more after last night?
Oh no! She wasn’t even ready—what should she do?
Although they had done it once last night, she’d been under the influence of the drug then, barely aware of anything...
Forget it, forget it. Prepared or not, she had to go along with it!
She gritted her teeth, bracing herself for his whims, waited for a moment—but nothing happened. When she opened her eyes again, she noticed he had buttoned up the top two buttons of her pajamas instead, his slightly rough fingertips brushing lightly against her soft neck, while he casually gathered her stray hair back behind her shoulders. "Even at this age, you can’t button your clothes properly. It’s late—go rest."
Awkward.
Turned out she had misunderstood.
Qiao Yongyong opened her mouth, suppressed the blush rising on her cheeks, and slunk away in embarrassment.
Upon shutting the study door, she leaned against it, her heart racing uncontrollably, a hint of sweetness seemed to linger in the air around her.
After a long while, Qiao Yongyong steadied her fluttering heart, as though trying to rein in a restless bird, and returned to her room.
Inside, it took her quite some time to calm the beating of her heart, only then noticing her phone flashing with missed call alerts.
She picked up the phone, saw the call log, frowned, and dialed back. After saying a few words, she hung up.
After pondering for a while, she finally threw on a jacket and went downstairs.

Under the streetlights outside the apartment, Mike saw Qiao Yongyong coming down and approached her: "Miss."
"I told you all to leave! What are you still doing here?" Qiao Yongyong snapped angrily.
"Mr. Nie is unsuitable for you. If Miss remains with Mr. Nie, we won’t be able to give Mr. Qiao an explanation."
Qiao Yongyong stomped her foot. "I’m not a three-year-old child! I can decide who is suitable for me myself!"
"Mr. Nie doesn’t treat Miss well. Miss is always putting yourself in an embarrassing position, warming up to cold indifference. Why subject yourself to this? There are a sea of men chasing after Miss—why not look elsewhere?"
Though Mike was under Qiao Zonghan’s directive to prevent Qiao Yongyong and Nie Yixiao from being together, he also felt a deep sense of pity for Qiao Yongyong, having watched her grow up like an uncle figure. These words were tinged with genuine concern.
