Chapter 309: Chapter 307: Boss, It’s Time to Take Your Medicine
"No." Huo Zhenyang tightened his grip, subduing Little Kitten’s struggles with a deep voice that was three parts soothing, seven parts forceful.
Yet Jiayi still didn’t feel the slightest bit at ease.
Even if Ya Chen wouldn’t tell the Chu Family, she felt deeply ashamed—
Just a few days ago, Ya Chen had crowned her with the Pigeon Blood Crown; in the eyes of the entire Ya Family, she was Ya Chen’s fiancée.
And Ya Chen harbored fantasies about her, convinced she was his future wife...
How could she appear affectionate with this man in the presence of Ya Chen?
But the harder she tried to break free, the stronger Huo Zhenyang’s grip became, fueling his anger even more.
Finally, he leaned in, breathing out sternly, "I will let this cripple know who really owns you."
He wanted to display his ownership of her in front of Ya Chen.
Even if Ya Chen couldn’t see, he wanted to make it clear to him.
Just then, the door creaked open.
Accompanied by the unique sound of wheelchair wheels rolling across the carpet, Ya Chen made his way to the far end of the bedroom.
Jiayi held her breath, not daring to speak or even move.
Fearful that Ya Chen would notice she was there.
She hoped he would quickly leave after speaking and not discover her presence.
"Does the Crown Prince have business with me?" Huo Zhenyang called out to Ya Chen’s dull eyes with a loud voice, purposefully betraying his position to Ya Chen.
Following the man’s voice, Ya Chen faced the balcony, his usually detached and refined face now showing a trace of frost, his tone barely masking his deep anger:
"Huo Zhenyang, you didn’t inform us last night, used the Ya Family’s name to bring Jiayi into the castle, did you?"
Huo Zhenyang did not deny it, merely shrugged his shoulders: "Yes."
Seeing his thick face, Ya Chen sneered, "Isn’t that going too far, Huo Zhenyang?"
The man said lightly, "Is it? I haven’t done anything to her, and besides, I had her brought into the castle, not into my bedroom onto my bed."
With that, his fingertips deliberately wandered over Jiayi’s soft shoulders.
Ya Chen’s face slightly changed but he knew Huo Zhenyang was provoking him on purpose; he clenched his long, slender fingers, restraining himself.
Jiayi shot the man a look and bit down hard on her tender lower lip to avoid making any noise that Ya Chen might hear.
Observing Little Kitten’s reaction, his eyes narrowed with amusement, and his fingertips on her shoulder grew even more audacious.
This man seemed to greatly enjoy taunting her in front of Ya Chen.
Jiayi took a sharp breath and used her eyes to stop Huo Zhenyang.
At that moment, Ya Chen spoke up: "Since Jiayi has already moved into the castle, let it be, but I heard Mr. Huo arranged for her next door to you, which is perhaps not so appropriate. Butler Pei has already arranged another room on the main building side. Soon, someone will escort her to move there."
To move to the main building?
Wouldn’t that be very close to Ya Chen?
Huo Zhenyang let out a cool breath from his nose: "Why bother with such trouble when everything is already arranged."
Ya Chen’s voice was cold, "Mr. Huo, please don’t go too far; Jiayi is currently the Crown Prince’s fiancée."
The Crown Prince’s fiancée? Huo Zhenyang’s eyes turned from indifferent to fierce as he leaned forward, provocatively curling his lips:
"Or maybe, darling, you can tell me which room you’d prefer to stay in."
This statement struck like a thunderbolt out of the blue! Ya Chen’s expression changed—was Jiayi here?
He looked around, his expression blank, seemingly in search of Jiayi: "Jiayi... are you here?"
Jiayi didn’t expect Huo Zhenyang to reveal her presence, and she was taken aback, so much that she felt like killing him!
She felt as though she had been caught in the act of cheating!
Dazed, she said foolishly: "Ya Chen, I’m here."
A sly fox-like smile flickered in Huo Zhenyang’s eyes, as if to say, "You’re admitting it yourself; I’m not the one exposing you."
Jiayi wished she could punch herself in the head—why had she admitted it? Couldn’t she have just continued to play invisible and nonexistent?
Hearing the familiar voice and knowing that Jiayi was indeed here, Ya Chen’s face instantly became a shade sadder, yet he still spoke gently, "Jiayi, how come you are in his room?"
This question greatly irritated Huo Zhenyang, who had a severe case of possessiveness.
What does "how come you are in his room" mean? If not in his room, should she be in this blind man’s room?
If it weren’t for the fact that Little Kitten couldn’t afford to fall out with Ya Chen right now, he wouldn’t mind showing a deeper level of performance in front of this blind man!
Ya Chen’s query embarrassed Jiayi so much—it was all because of this man beside her.
Since she was discovered anyway, she couldn’t care less. With a lift of her slender arm, she pushed Huo Zhenyang away as hard as she could and thumped down off the soft couch.
Although Ya Chen could not see, he heard the low grunt from Huo Zhenyang being shoved and the light sound of Jiayi landing as if she had jumped from somewhere.
Ya Chen’s expression darkened even more, and unconsciously, he clenched his fist, relying on his well-disciplined upbringing to restrain his temper.
Thump, thump, Jiayi ran to Ya Chen and said, "Ya Chen, there’s a reason Mr. Huo brought me to the castle. Don’t get the wrong idea. Xinyue had a heart attack yesterday, and Mommy thinks it’s because I didn’t take good care of her. She also misunderstood that I complained about her to you, which is why Xinyue got sick, so she was very angry with me. Mr. Huo was worried I would be mistreated at home, so he temporarily brought me into the castle to stay for a few days."
Her words were like a sweet summer rain, washing away the heat in Ya Chen’s heart. His face relaxed, and he seemed somewhat remorseful: "I didn’t even consider this. It was all my fault yesterday; Jiayi, I’m sorry."
Xuan Yu was not Jiayi’s biological mother. Both Chu Xinyu and Chu Xinyue were unkind to Jiayi—who could expect Xuan Yu to be any better towards her?
Yesterday, he scolded Xinyue for Jiayi’s sake, which caused Xinyue’s illness. Xuan Yu, not daring to confront him, must have taken her anger out on Jiayi.
He was busy scolding Xinyue but didn’t consider the repercussions Jiayi might face when she went back!
Jiayi hurriedly said, "So, Ya Chen, it has nothing to do with you, don’t take it to heart... I’ll just stay for a few days and then go back. As for which room to stay in, you can decide."
Upon hearing the latter part of her words, Huo Zhenyang raised his thick brows and looked over disapprovingly, only to be met with a fierce glare from Little Kitten in return.
He shrugged his shoulders; it was up to her. After all, he had achieved his goal of asserting dominance in front of Ya Chen.
At this moment, George knocked on the door and entered.
He glanced at Jiayi and Ya Chen, quickly walked up to Huo Zhenyang, bent down, and whispered, "Boss, it’s time for your medication."
Although George spoke softly, the room was very quiet, and Jiayi was not far away, so she heard him quite clearly. She glanced over subconsciously: "Medication?"
George was taken aback, seemingly at a loss for words.
