Chapter 1144: Chapter 1113: Death by Free Fall
"Can you still walk?" Hiding under a rooftop, Xiao Lin asked Yelu Shou, who was bleeding profusely. If it wasn’t for him pushing Xiao Lin aside earlier, the injured person would have been him.
"OK, no problem!"
"Good!" After confirming the wound on Yelu Shou’s shoulder once more, Xiao Lin turned around and left.
"Where are you going?" Yelu Shou grabbed Xiao Lin.
"To blow off some steam!"
"Come back without leaving any behind." Yelu Shou released his grip, knowing that this guy was holding back a lot tonight.
After Xiao Lin rushed up to the rooftop, his sharp gaze instantly locked onto the sniper still lying there, motionlessly concentrated on aiming at the figures below. Yelu Shou had successfully bought him some time.
A layer of viciousness enveloped his pitch-black eyes, and he drew two daggers in his hand. With a gentle tip of his toe, he silently appeared beside the sniper.
Xiao Lin paused slightly, his feet stepping onto the ground and leaping up, gripping the daggers in both hands and thrusting viciously towards the sniper’s carotid artery. The entire motion was seamless, swift as a flash of lightning across the sky, impossible to dodge.
Just as the daggers were mere inches away from the sniper, the opponent’s sniper rifle suddenly jabbed backward, colliding heavily with Xiao Lin’s daggers in a life-or-death moment. The clash caused the daggers to lose momentum, altering their trajectory and landing on the cement with a crisp noise. The dagger tip scraped across the ground, sending sparks flying, and the sniper took the opportunity to roll away and hide at the edge, a cold smile appearing on his stern face as he twisted and ran towards the side above his head.
Xiao Lin didn’t hesitate to follow, both moving at incredible speed. On this area measuring five hundred meters by two hundred meters, their faint shadows left a trail of intense pursuit.
But just as they passed a small wall, Xiao Lin instinctively felt danger approaching. Before he could stop himself, a massive hammer swung at him with a sharp whistle, like a furious wave. Unable to dodge, Xiao Lin immediately gripped the dagger with his left hand, raising it to meet the sledgehammer!
However, how could a lightweight dagger withstand the incomparable terror of a sledgehammer’s force? Xiao Lin let out a loud shout, his hands pushed to their limits, his right foot stepping out, and with a shake of both arms, he forcibly withdrew the dagger from under the sledgehammer, darting sideways with lithe agility, feeling waves of paralysis from a tiger-like roar.
Amidst the sounds of the sledgehammer colliding with the ground, two men emerged, one of whom was the sniper from before. Instantly, Xiao Lin realized it was a trap.
"Is this the guy the boss mentioned?" The hammer-wielding man asked the sniper beside him, a contemptuous smile spreading across his lips. "He looks like a novice! Does he really need us to act? Hahaha!"
The laughing man didn’t regard Xiao Lin at all, and just as he burst out laughing, Xiao Lin straightened his waist, sprang forward, and thrust the dagger he tightly held in his hand like lightning towards the sniper two steps away.
Not expecting Xiao Lin to come at him, the sniper instinctively retreated a few steps, raising his left hand to block the dagger.
Thump, the entire dagger pierced through his palm, as Xiao Lin emitted a sinister laugh, pressing his left claw onto the sniper’s left cheek with a bloodthirsty aura, forcibly gripping and ripping away a large piece of flesh and blood.
With a scream, the sniper, already injured, trembled with his left hand trying to touch his lost cheek, attempting to stop the gushing blood. Xiao Lin viciously kicked the sniper away, landing gracefully then turning to the side of the tall, brawny man. His left claw was held across his chest, as the dagger in his right hand swept towards the man’s neck.
Facing Xiao Lin rushing at him, the man swung the enormous sledgehammer down. Xiao Lin extended his right palm straight, instantly softening like Tai Chi, gracefully rotating in front of his chest. Suddenly, he pushed a palm against the incoming hammer.
As the old saying goes, using four ounces to deflect a thousand pounds seemed to be the case here. With ease, Xiao Lin’s right palm deflected what appeared to be a ferocious hammer. Simultaneously, he spun elegantly in mid-air, continuously stepping towards the man, forcing him back five or six steps.
Although it was just a short exchange, Xiao Lin had already calculated his opponent’s strength in his mind. As he pondered, the man swung the iron hammer at him again, and Xiao Lin raised his spike to meet it. Using the rebound force of the spike, he bent his abdomen slightly as the hammer neared, making the opponent feel as though the hammer had struck its target. As the opponent became slightly pleased, Xiao Lin glanced coldly at the sniper who was wailing on the ground, showing no sympathy in his eyes. Though he was already disabled, the injury to Yelu Shou had to be answered with an even greater price. The spike in his right hand slipped from his palm, and as Xiao Lin let out a low growl, the spike pierced straight through the center of the sniper’s throat. At the same time, he curled up and sprang upwards, leveraging his own strength to fling himself into the air. His fists instantly turned to palms, his arms rotating slightly to create a small whirlwind, thrusting directly towards the man.
"You’re too arrogant!" the man bellowed explosively, his hands suddenly swinging up his iron arms. As he roared, his arms bulged with veins, and he swung that terrifying large iron hammer down at Xiao Lin with no flourish.
The two figures weaved back and forth on the top floor of the high building. What appeared to be a long-prepared attack by Xiao Lin did not cover much distance. With just two steps, Xiao Lin again tapped the ground with the tip of his right foot, forcibly and unbelievably altering his trajectory. A straight-line attack instantly curved off, disappearing from the man’s sight.
The man’s full-swing terrifying iron hammer crashed heavily into the rooftop cement, emitting a dull thud. He could not change because of Xiao Lin’s changes, appearing cumbersome and foolish against Xiao Lin’s agile body.
Xiao Lin gave him no chance to breathe, swinging his right leg towards the man’s neck. The terrifying force and tricky angle left the man, unable to retract the iron hammer in time, with no choice but to retreat rapidly.
Seeing no way to dodge, the man let out a muffled roar, lowered his head forcefully, hugged his head tightly with both arms, and charged straight at Xiao Lin, intending to use his arms to block the vicious move.
Bang! Xiao Lin’s right leg smashed into the man’s arms like an iron whip, leaving them mangled and bloody, with blood splattering.
The man’s whole body shuddered. He was absolutely confident in the strength of his arms, yet in that last strike, he felt no certainty of winning.
"Where is Wang Weibo? Tell me, and I’ll spare your life."
The man let out a cold snort, in pain, yet he still swung his injured arms at Xiao Lin. After a missed strike, the man, having adjusted, swung the hammer at Xiao Lin simultaneously again.
Facing the ferocious attack from both sides, Xiao Lin merely sneered coldly. He raised his iron palms, wielding his strength and speed with abandon, and moved towards the man head-on. His agile movements were like a ghost, slipping gracefully under the man’s fierce attacks.
Xiao Lin dodged the seemingly perfect attacks of the two effortlessly, and after seizing every opportunity, launched more effective strikes. He had the frightening speed of a cheetah and the venomous acuity of a viper. Through several rounds of defense and attack, he steadily gained the upper hand, putting the hammer man in a desperate situation, like a cat toying with a captured mouse, not in a hurry to kill.
In each attack, although it appeared gentle and agile, it contained frightening power and sharp offense. In just a few dozen rounds, the hammer man was drenched in sweat, entirely on the defensive. Despite his large iron hammer sounding like thunder, he still couldn’t escape a fate of being broken and battered. Xiao Lin avoided the hammer swung at him again, lifted a foot, and fiercely kicked the man into the air, landing him beside the sniper, who had already gone cold.
"Don’t force me to kill indiscriminately. Today, I’ve already killed two people. Don’t make me kill a third." Xiao Lin murmured to himself like a confessor, walking forward while casually pulling his spike from the sniper’s neck. "Where is Wang Weibo’s trading spot? This is your last chance." He tossed the spike into the air, catching it as it landed in his palm with a crisp sound.
"I don’t know the Wang Weibo you’re talking about!" Sitting on the ground, the hammer man panted, with eyes blinking overly large, staring at Xiao Lin.
Xiao Lin did not speak, only fixing his pitch-black eyes on the man, as if he were pondering something, trying to determine if he was lying. "Ah! Let’s change the way we ask then!"
"Ask your mother!" the hammer man roared angrily. Taking advantage of Xiao Lin’s moment of contemplation with lowered eyes, he grabbed the chain of the hammer with his right hand. There was no flourish, as he swung the hammer like a shot put straight at Xiao Lin’s face.
The weight of the hammer pulled the iron chain below, producing a loud clang, and at this moment, the hammer man’s swinging momentum carried everything towards Xiao Lin.
"You reckless fool!" Xiao Lin stepped aside, lifted his leg, and kicked fiercely at the hammer man’s lower abdomen. With a bang, the massive body flew backward, returning to the original position. The hammer flew into the air, and Xiao Lin raised his left foot to draw a curve, precisely stepping on the hammer’s chain, firmly fixing it in place on the ground.
"Who is your boss?" Seeing the hammer man still silent, Xiao Lin felt his patience wearing thin, and just then, a flash of light broke through the sky. The flare flashed briefly in the night, and the hammer man struggled to get up. But Xiao Lin’s earlier kick had almost shattered his internal organs. "So, there are more accomplices!"
