Chapter 1886: The Power of Destruction

“Oh, so you’re Master Jorces’ apprentice.” Destruction Spring’s tone softened noticeably.

Most Spring Lords in the Myriad Springs Worlds did not have a fixed form.

That included Destruction Spring.

All Sein could see was a vast mass of hydro elemental energy.

The eleventh-grade lotus throne beneath it was equally immense.

To be more precise, the throne was halfway to the twelfth grade.

Like Sein’s Magic Cube, it seemed to be a world-class secret treasure with room to grow.

“What brings you to the Myriad Springs Worlds?” Destruction Spring asked.

Sein glanced at Tourmaline, who was trying to climb onto the Destruction Lotus Throne, then replied, “We were hunted by powerhouses from the Amenkha Empire during the war and forced to flee into a shattered spacetime corridor. We eventually ended up here by chance.”

“We did not arrive here at first. We came from a small star domain called the Vermi Star Domain,” he added.

“Oh? Isn’t the Magus Civilization currently at war with the Gallant Federation? How did you end up crossing paths with the Amenkha Empire as well?” Destruction Spring asked curiously.

This overlord-level being was clearly aware of the Magus Civilization and its war with the Gallant Federation.

However, since the Amenkha Empire had only become active on the Magus Civilization’s battlefields in recent centuries, the information he had was somewhat outdated.

Sein could not offer much more in response.

He shook his head and said, “According to my grandmaster, the Amenkha Empire is the ultimate enemy of our Magus Civilization. In fact, it poses a greater threat than the Gallant Federation, even though we are currently at war with them.”

“I don’t know the full situation of the Clash of Civilizations, but I have heard that our forces have suffered setbacks on multiple fronts recently. The Gallant Federation has even launched a large-scale counteroffensive, reclaiming several star domains we once controlled. I believe the Amenkha Empire is involved,” Sein said.

Destruction Spring was familiar with the Amenkha Empire as well.

After hearing Sein’s explanation, Destruction Spring fell silent for a moment, as if deep in thought.

Only after a long pause did it speak again, a hint of puzzlement in its voice. “Your grandmaster? Aren’t you Master Jorces’ apprentice?”

Sein went on to explain that he had first become Lorianne’s apprentice, and only later inherited the legacy of the Faceless Mask’s former master, Jorces, in the secret realm of the Knight Continent.

In truth, obtaining Jorces’ legacy had been largely a matter of luck.

The Faceless Mask, as a world-class secret treasure, had played a crucial role in Sein’s growth.

The knowledge Master Jorces left behind had also helped him avoid many detours in his study of the lumen and pyro elements.

The only real regret was that he had inherited very little of Jorces’ achievements in sonido magic.

After all, a person’s time and energy were limited.

Sein’s main focus remained on pyro element and mechanical arts, and even his lumen magic had fallen somewhat behind in recent years.

After hearing all this, Destruction Spring seemed to understand. With a faint smile, he continued asking, “Did you happen to see a bull and a snake in the Knight Continent?”

The question was unexpected. Sein paused, then shook his head.

Any beings that could catch Destruction Spring’s attention were likely powerhouses of the same rank.

Back then, when Sein was only a demigod, such beings were far beyond his reach.

The low, surging roar of Destruction Spring’s waters echoed in Sein’s ears.

Unlike the spring waters of Vitality, Hatred, Joy, and the others he had collected before, the Spring Water of Destruction—imbued with a portion of his own law power—was clearly far more valuable!

Even as Sein answered Destruction Spring’s questions, he quietly observed his surroundings.

Aside from Destruction Spring himself, Sein’s attention was also drawn to the countless vortices of laws swirling beneath the Eleventh-Grade Lotus Throne.

Sein was positioned close to one of these vortices, so he focused his Faceless Mask on it.

The mask’s scanning ability activated, projecting an image. What he saw was a vast battlefield on a low-level plane, where two opposing forces were locked in combat.

Judging by their life energy, most of the creatures there had not even reached the demigod level.

As for why they were fighting there, Sein did not know. He only caught a brief glimpse of dark mist spreading across the battlefield, with traces of unusual law power taking shape within it.

If he had been there in person, he likely would have been too caught up in the chaos of battle to notice any of it.

But viewing it through the vortex beneath Destruction Spring’s lotus throne and with his own understanding of laws, Sein could not help but draw a conclusion—this overlord seemed to be drawing power from the wars waged by the lesser beings within those vortices.

What a strange overlord he was!

And those countless, densely packed vortices... did each one correspond to a battlefield on some plane where war was unfolding?

Once Sein started thinking, he quickly became absorbed in it.

By the time he snapped back to reality, he realized Tourmaline had already jumped onto the lotus throne, and Destruction Spring was now watching him closely.

“Heh... did you figure something out?” Destruction Spring asked.

“As expected of a mage from the Magus Civilization—you are all experts at pursuing truth. I don’t particularly enjoy dealing with your kind. It feels like my thoughts are laid bare,” he added with a chuckle.

At that moment, Tourmaline—who had been playing around—was lifted into the air by a massive hand condensed from black water.

“Hmm, your attributes don’t align with mine. If you stay here too long, the aura of destruction may begin to affect your mind, and I have no interest in dealing with your family. Otherwise, I might have given you a lotus seed,” Destruction Spring said, setting Tourmaline aside.

“Calm down. Your uncle should be arriving soon. When he does, go with him,” he told her.

He then turned back to Sein.

“As for you... the war your Magus Civilization is fighting seems quite intense. Why don’t you gather some reinforcements before you return?”

“May I ask—from which civilization?” Sein asked respectfully.

“One with close ties to your Magus World.”

As Destruction Spring spoke, pitch-black law-infused water churned, and a spatial spring slowly formed before Sein.

It was unclear where it led, but judging by the aura coming from it, the destination lay far beyond the Myriad Springs Worlds.
