Listening to Evelyn’s words, Caden Lockwood’s fists clenched audibly.

Caden really wondered how bad his image had become in Evelyn’s heart.

"So, you’re planning to leave with Logan?" Caden clenched his fists tightly, "Is that right? If I hadn’t shown up just now, you would’ve already run off with him!"

Evelyn didn’t answer Caden but asked instead, "Would Mr. Lockwood allow me to run away?"

Hearing Evelyn repeatedly call him "Mr. Lockwood," Caden was furious.

Caden’s lips curled into a dangerous, cold smile, and he spat out a word: "Yes."

His handsome face showed ruthless indifference, but the pain hidden in his dark eyes suggested he was merely forcing himself to act detached.

Caden took out his phone, dialed a number, and coldly spoke in front of Evelyn: "Remove all the bodyguards secretly protecting Evelyn. There’s no need to ensure her safety anymore. If she wants to die, let her die!"

Listening to Caden’s cruel tone, Evelyn shivered violently.

Caden stood up, dressed slowly, eyes fixed on Evelyn’s face throughout.

"Try it." Caden’s tone was declarative, "After leaving me, what do you think the first thing you’ll encounter will be?"

After speaking, Caden gave Evelyn a brief look and turned to leave.

Evelyn lay on the bed, her whole body aching and powerless, bruised with dark purple marks, deliberately caused by Caden moments ago.

She could tell he hated her; every forceful act against her was his hatred.

He had truly come to deeply despise her.

Isn’t this the outcome she wanted?

Why does she feel so miserable now that she has achieved her goal?

Her heart hurt so much it felt uncomfortable all over, curling up and wishing she could disappear from the world.

"Bawling—" Evelyn cried out, wrapping herself tightly in the sheets, her body curled and trembling nonstop.

Finally, she couldn’t stay any longer, hastily dressing herself, refusing to take luggage, only clutching her small bag as she fled the hotel...

The night was quiet, Caden Lockwood becoming increasingly gloomy in the villa, forcing himself to focus on work and refrain from thinking about Evelyn.

But no matter how he pressured himself to work, he couldn’t calm his mind.

He stared at the pile of documents Sean Ashton had brought him, a tall stack that could easily keep him busy until morning.

His mind was filled with Evelyn.

He picked up his phone and called Yvette directly.
