Chapter 638: Chapter 289: At the End of the Road

"They never give me peace of mind anyway."

"Hahaha..."

Liu Weijun chatted casually with Zhang Wenjun, then pulled the trigger to suppress the enemy.

Gu Ji just got up and set up his gun when he caught sight of a shadow flickering across the courtyard. Instinctively, he pulled the trigger, landing a precise two-point burst shot to the enemy’s chest.

The shadow fell halfway with a ’plop,’ into the courtyard pool.

"Frang! Frang!"

"We’ve got trouble, there’s an unidentified team on site, suspected to be Xia Kingdom’s special operations forces!"

"Fuck! Is this how you provide intelligence?! First, it was the Xia Kingdom police, and now it’s special forces. You know this will cost us dearly!!"

Southern courtyard perimeter.

A burly, bearded mercenary hiding behind the trunk of a landscaped palm tree gave Bai Mingliang, dressed in dark green military attire, a hard shove.

Bai Mingliang, already fuming as his father had been captured by the Xia Kingdom police and his family was being besieged by the three major families, exploded in anger.

Being shoved by the mercenary, his fury erupted completely.

"Listen, Shadik, I fucking pay you, so just do your job. What about the Xia Kingdom? The Bai Family has been rooted in Northern Myanmar for decades, having survived numerous combined sieges. Was there ever a success? Useless!!"

"Fuck! Fuck--!!"

The bearded mercenary named Shadik couldn’t help but curse repeatedly.

He never imagined the young man in front of him would be so foolish, treating the Xia Kingdom like fools.

The enemies they were now engaged with were from the country with the world’s largest standing army, armed with advanced military weapons, and the super presence of "Miss Qiou" who could crush them as easily as an ant.

At the mission briefing, Shadik thought this operation would be relatively easy.

But unexpected foes kept showing up one after another, seemingly endless!

"Damn, their shooting is too accurate. Why would Xia Kingdom suddenly deploy special forces? Did Myanmar agree to let military personnel engage in combat?" one mercenary nearly got hit by Liu Weijun’s bullets.

"Xia Kingdom often organizes various joint exercises, but from their attire, they look more like SWAT."

"SWAT? Don’t joke. Their equipment and combat tactics are on par with ours. As far as I know, Xia Kingdom doesn’t even have the capability for such high-difficulty foreign missions!"

"Stop the nonsense! Stay sharp and maintain vigilance!"

Shadik subtly flipped his wrist and glanced at the time. "Eagle, report on the position of the warlord’s armed forces!"

"The warlord’s troops have already entered the city. You have five minutes left for the operation. Before time runs out, you must... wait! Oh my God! I spot two low-flying W-3 military helicopters, each mounted with two 23mm cannons, approaching the city skies!"

"What!?"

The PM mercenaries were all flabbergasted at the mention of this.

They thought that, at most, such a third-party country private armed force would possess only mortars and rockets as "heavy weapons." They never imagined military helicopters would be deployed. Once air superiority was achieved, they wouldn’t even have a chance to retreat, let alone resist!

"Damn it! Where did the military helicopters come from? Is it Xia Kingdom, Myanmar, or the warlord’s troops?"

Shadik grabbed Bai Mingliang by the collar, almost wanting to shoot him on the spot.

"Military helicopters?"

Bai Mingliang was slightly taken aback, "That’s impossible! Local warlords have never had air forces, and only the Wa Army in Northern Myanmar has helicopters, just a few Thunderbird light helicopters..."

Judging by Bai Mingliang’s response, Shadik knew he wouldn’t get any valuable information.

He then continued to call the technical reconnaissance team, "Eagle, are you sure they’re coming for us?"

"Not sure. The two helicopters seem to have split up; one went northward. In any case, be careful; there’s little time left to retreat!"

"Damn! If it’s really the Xia Kingdom forces, we’re in trouble!"

Shadik gritted his teeth, his eyes fierce, "Group C, Group D, prepare for a cross-cover retreat!"

"Retreat!? Are you joking? I’ve paid money for this!" Bai Mingliang panicked at the word retreat, "This can’t be from the Xia Kingdom dispatch, and even if it is, they won’t dare fire in the old streets, or the local warlords won’t leave them alone!"

"Attention Team Three! Attention Team Three! Myanmar’s air support has reached the target point. Team One and the hostages are evacuating safely. Another helicopter is heading to the Bai Family estate. I need an exact safe coordinate point!"

"Top of the hill! Watch for the double flicker!"

Just as Gu Ji and his team suppressed the enemy mercenaries, Lei Wanshan’s voice suddenly came over the tactical headset.

With a designated coordinate point, seeing Zhao Bai’s team was ready.

"Everyone! We must evacuate now! Wu Kang, you guide Mr. Zhao’s retreat! Team B, prepare to assemble! Remaining members of Team A, provide alternating cover for the retreat with me!"

"Understood!"

At the command, everyone sprang into action.

Gu Ji and Gao Bo immediately fired while retreating to the corridor.

Seeing two mercenaries get shot back by the bullets, Gao Bo couldn’t help but grin, "Is the mission about to be completed? Seems like the Bai Family Border Defense Camp and these mercenaries aren’t much after all!"

"It’s not time to celebrate yet!"

Honestly, Gu Ji also couldn’t quite understand the actions of these PM mercenaries.

Beyond those mercenaries ambushed to death on the north side of the villa, theoretically, although this group is no match for Cohen’s elite at Laird Airport, they should at least be stronger than the mercenaries they clashed with in Jinzhou Park.
