Chapter 1088: Chapter 1084: GETTING ALONG
Some minutes later, the two couples plus a child were seated at the dining table as the maids were serving food, while they chatted.
It was basically Gael and Russ talking while Diamond was busy playing with the child and chirping in once in a while alongside Penny.
"You really work in a niche industry. I don’t know much about it, but I can tell that it is pretty cool."
After Russ learnt that Gael worked in the gaming industry and was a developer with great works under his name, he was amazed.
Being a rancher and very busy as a person, he basically never had time to play any games. They were addictive and that time spent playing them, he would rather do some work done and earn more money.
Of course, the other reason he didn’t play was that he wasn’t exactly interested in them but that didn’t mean that he looked down on games. Not everyone likes rearing livestock like he does. He wasn’t one to judge.
Gael had a faint smile on his face as he chatted with this man who made him feel complicated. The more he looked at Russ, the more he felt that he was definitely Diamond’s type. Thankfully, the other party was married. Diamond wouldn’t go for a married man. Nonetheless, regardless of those feelings, he also found the man pleasant. He was wonderful to talk with and he didn’t look at him with disregard like most powerful and rich men usually do.
He sounded genuine, and that made him feel much more at ease.
"It is indeed cool. We ....." he responded heartily, as he go into details regarding what he does.
While they were talking, Diamond on the other hand, with one ear listening to the guys, she was also busy talking to Penny.
"I am going to miss you guys," she said sincerely, feeling heavy with leaving after making such a good friend – Gracelynn.
Penny flashed a measured smile though inwardly she was happy.
If she was forced to see Diamond all the time, she might break down. It was better if they don’t meet ever again. However, she couldn’t utter such words, so she played along as she responded, "we are going to miss you too. Besides, its not like we are not going to see each other again."
Diamond raised her head and smiled as she looked at Penny who was speaking without meaning every single word.
She looked too cute. Suddenly, she felt like visiting again just to piss her off. The sight will be very amazing.
So, a cunning plan was formed and Penny was destined to have a heart attack when the time comes.
"Indeed, when I miss you guys, I will just board the plane and fly over," she shamelessly responded, flashing her white teeth at Penny before looking at Gracelynn who was holding her hand and added, "After all, I do own a private plane. What’s there to hesitate about? Hehe, don’t you think so, my dear Grace?" while pinching the little girl’s soft cheeks.
When Gracelynn, who had been feeling low because she won’t be able to see her princess Isfrid heard Diamond’s words, her eyes brightened up, as hope filled her.
She might be five years old but she was clever and her EQ was high. She knows that Diamond was no Isfrid. She was just a beautiful sister with beautiful silver hair. Not dyed but natural, though she doesn’t understand how that came to be.
Sister was rich and loaded. Gracelynn likes sister a lot. Sister is playful and doesn’t make her feel stifled like she does around her mother.
Whenever she is with sister, she was always smiling as sister always makes sure that she has fun and do whatever she wants without forcing it on her.
The days she had been with sister were so wonderful that she didn’t want them to end. However, she also understands that everything always come to an end. Sister has a life and must return home one way or the other.
She didn’t belong here, and the next time they see each other, she wasn’t certain when. After all, everyone always say that they will meet and yet there will be no signs.
She also understands that crying was pointless. She felt sad that sister was going to leave and she didn’t have the right to stop her. It was making her sad though she had to keep a front and act happily.
However, sister just said something that made her hopeful.
If sister has a private plane like daddy, then that means that sister can fly whenever she wants here, or she will just convince her father to let him take her to see sister if she misses her badly. Wasn’t that just brilliant?
"Hehe, sister, that makes sense. I will be waiting for you. You promised!"
Diamond beamed happily at the girl, loving her answer and affectionately smooched her cheek, making her giggle happily, attracting the attention of the two men who were busy talking about their careers and sharing insights.
When Russ saw Diamond and Gracelynn teasing each other, that smile returned to his face once again. He found himself saying, in a praising manner, "Your girl must really love children."
Gael smilingly looked at Diamond, feeling warmth all over as he thought of their first child that they have already named, "Um, she really loves them."
Russ then corked his brow at Gael as he asked, "So, when are you going to have one?" quite curious about that.
Gael let out a chuckle, the affection in his eyes increasing. He turned slightly to look at Russ and in a boastful tone he didn’t even notice, happily shared a secret in a lowered voice, "we will wait until she is ready but we already named our first daughter," his excitement unconcealed.
That made Russ to cork his brows even further, amusement flickering in his eyes. "Tell me about it!"
And so, a bond between two men was formed unexpectedly.
