Chapter 314: Chapter 314

"Nice dreams you have there!" Suzy spat.

"Even if I kill you, I’ll still find Noah, and he won’t die!" she said, practically grinding her teeth.

Did he really think taking her life would be that easy? She had gone through hell to eliminate Wendy and Janine, surviving against all odds just to get to where she was today. And now he expected her to just hand over her life?

In his dreams!

Who did he think he was? She didn’t give a damn who he really was! Anyone who wanted her dead had to die right away!

Ruthlessness surged within Suzy, the cold fury in her eyes nearly spilling over. Refusing to waste another second listening to Aaron’s nonsense, she pulled the trigger again.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets flew through the air, and this time, they finally hit their mark.

Aaron hadn’t expected her to fire so suddenly. He had genuinely believed his words were working on her.

This woman’s reflexes are insane!

Before he could even process the sound of the gunshots, a sharp, burning pain flared in his arm.

Gasping from the pain, Aaron glared at Suzy with sheer venom.

"Don’t be so ungrateful!"

The docile, obedient look he usually wore was entirely gone from his delicate face, replaced by pure malice. He stared at Suzy as if he wanted nothing more than to tear her to pieces on the spot.

"You’re the one who’s ungrateful," Suzy said without hesitation, pulling the trigger yet again.

Where she had been hesitant before, she was now shooting to kill. This time, the bullet grazed Aaron’s other arm, sending a spray of fresh blood into the air.

"Fuck!" Aaron cursed under his breath. He lunged forward to clamp a hand over the wound, but blood still seeped through his fingers, dripping onto the snow and blooming into small, dark red patches.

He was injured again. He had been hurt by this woman again!

He snapped his head up to look at Suzy, his eyes overflowing with murderous intent.

"Are you insane?" Aaron roared, his voice tinged with the humiliation of his own rage. "Do you really not care about that brat’s life anymore?"

"I already told you—even if I kill you, I’ll still find him," Suzy replied, her voice deadpan and icy.

Her utter indifference caused Aaron’s composure to completely crack.

"Fine. You want to play tough?" Aaron gritted his teeth. "Don’t think you’re the only one with a gun. I’ve got one too!"

The moment the words left his mouth, Aaron whipped out a compact silver pistol and aimed it straight at Suzy.

"Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Dying by my hand right now is a mercy. Even if I die, more people will come looking for you. None of them are a walk in the park—you won’t be able to run. As long as you live in this world, you will never esc—"

Before Aaron could finish his sentence, Suzy pulled the trigger again.

"Shut up!"

"Dying by my hand is a mercy for you, too! As for what happens next, you won’t be around to worry about it!"

With every sentence she threw back at him, she fired another shot. Three bullets flew in rapid succession.

Aaron’s face paled drastically. He dove to dodge the incoming fire while simultaneously pulling his own trigger. Bullets crossed paths in mid-air as both sides moved at blinding speed to evade the shots.

As Aaron dodged, he closed the distance between them with terrifying speed. With a flick of his wrist, he hurled something directly at Suzy.

Before she could even react, a cloud of smoke-like gas exploded right in front of her.

Suzy instantly held her breath. As the smoke closed in, an overwhelming sense of dread gripped her heart.

I can’t let this touch me! I have to get away!

The warning blared in her mind. Without a second thought, she willed herself out of harm’s way, vanishing instantly into her pocket dimension. Once inside, she desperately gulped down several mouthfuls of spiritual spring water.

She had no idea what kind of trick Aaron had just thrown at her, but she wasn’t about to take any chances. Her gut told her that if she got caught in that smoke and didn’t neutralize it immediately, she would be in serious trouble.

Meanwhile, back out in the snow, Suzy’s sudden disappearance out of thin air left Aaron completely paralyzed with shock.

Wait... where the hell did she go?!

With Suzy nowhere in sight, Aaron stood there completely questioning reality.

She had been standing right in front of him a second ago. How could she just vanish into thin air like that?

Where did she go? Where could she possibly be?

Was her movement speed really that insane? Or did she have some kind of life-saving hidden ability?

Aaron scanned his surroundings with hyper-vigilance, his mind racing. As far as he knew, Suzy shouldn’t have possessed any such ability.

But before he could properly piece together what was happening, Suzy flashed back out of her dimension in a heartbeat.

Just as Aaron turned around, she materialized directly behind him.

A sudden chill shot up Aaron’s spine, followed immediately by the hard, cold press of a muzzle against the back of his head.

"You..." The word caught in his throat.

Suzy was like a ghost—silent, weightless, and completely imperceptible. Before he could even register her presence, she had appeared out of nowhere right behind him.

"You what?" Suzy’s voice was ice. "Did you really think you were the only one with a card up your sleeve?"

Aaron’s pupils contracted violently.

"You told me not to say you didn’t warn me," Suzy said, letting every syllable drop like lead. "Well, don’t say I didn’t warn you, either. You messed with the wrong person."

Bang.

This time, Suzy didn’t give him a single second to react. Where she had hesitated before, there was now no hesitation left.

The bullet tore through the back of his skull and exited right between his brows. A mist of blood erupted across the snow, blooming like a grotesque crimson flower.

Aaron’s body stiffened for a fraction of a second before he pitched forward, crashing straight into the snow and sending up a small white cloud.

He wasn’t dead yet.

Though the bullet had pierced his skull, a shred of consciousness remained, like the final, desperate flickers of a lamp burning through its last drop of oil. His fingers twitched convulsively, clawing at the snow; his legs kicked weakly, and his mouth opened and closed as he struggled in agony.

Suzy didn’t bother firing a finishing shot.
