Chapter 270: Chapter 270: Ninety-Eight Percent

A full week swept past following that fateful night, a deceptive period of calm where very little seemed to change on the surface.

Within Crimson Iron City, the Cao Clan’s newly introduced pills, boasting a terrifying ninety-six percent purity level under Shen Yu’s recipes, sold like absolute candies.

Just as they had done back in Thousand Waves City, these flawless medicines instantly established themselves as the undisputed gold standard of the local markets, completely dominating the competition.

Behind closed doors, the alchemists under Shen Yu’s command worked tirelessly, their cauldrons burning day and night to meet the market demand.

They pushed themselves to the absolute limit, driven by a fierce desire to accumulate his coveted credit points.

By exchanging these hard-earned credits, they unlocked access to the Tang Clan’s legendary archives, rapidly elevating their own technical knowledge as they mastered the incredible, high-level alchemical secrets hidden within the library.

During the week, Union remained uncharacteristically quiet, offering no new retaliatory waves.

Yet, beneath the thriving economy, the air felt thick, it was nothing more than the eerie quiet before an impending storm.

For Shen Yu, it had been a highly productive seven days.

By using the Primal Mark of Belonging technique on both the Cao Clan mother-daughter duo and the submissive innkeeper, he had made them his eternal slave and successfully cashed in on two lucrative system quests, raking in 3,000 Desire Points.

This steady influx of dual-cultivation essence had accelerated his own growth, pushing him halfway through the second stage of his newly expanded foundation.

Now, the morning sun illuminated the private bathroom of his pavilion, where Shen Yu sat relaxing in the warm, herb-infused spiritual water.

He had spent the entire previous night ruthlessly enjoying the bodies of Shuying and Wanru, and now, the two women worked in flawless, practiced tandem.

Kneeling at the edge of the steaming pool, they meticulously cleansed his skin, massaged his broad shoulders, and anticipated his every whim with a breathless, quiet devotion.

Every shred of their former matriarchal pride had been completely erased, they were no longer the lofty ladies of a merchant empire, but his deeply doting, permanently branded servants.

When the bath finally concluded, they stood before him on the marble tiles, carefully drying his athletic frame before helping him slide into his heavy, dark alchemist robes.

Just as the two women were slipping back into their own loose silk robes, carefully adjusting the fine fabric over their freshly bruised, marked skin, a sharp, heavily panicked shout violently shattered the quiet morning atmosphere from just outside the pavilion doors.

"Senior Mo! Senior Mo, please open up! There is a massive problem!"

It was Cao Yan.

Hearing her husband’s frantic, desperate voice echoing right outside the chamber while her inner folds were still burning from the Paragon’s morning touch, Shuying froze instantly.

Beside her, Wanru’s breath hitched, her green eyes darting toward Shen Yu with a sudden flash of tense, psychological anxiety.

Outside stood the master of the house, the husband and the father whose legacy they had both completely betrayed in the dark hours of the night.

Shen Yu looked at the two tense, silent women standing before him, and an amused chuckle vibrated deep in his chest.

Stepping forward, he wrapped his strong arms around both of their narrow waists, pulling them flush against his sides in a raw, undeniable display of possessiveness.

He casually slid his hands downward, heavily gripping and squeezing their soft, silk-covered asses, forcing a sharp, quiet gasp from both of their lips before printing a quick, dominant kiss on each of their flushed faces.

"Stay here," Shen Yu purred, his natural, deep voice dropping into a sinister whisper.

"I will handle him."

Leaving the two women inside the bedroom, their hearts racing with an unholy mix of fear and carnal excitement, Shen Yu smoothly adjusted his posture.

He glided across the chamber and slid the heavy door open.

Standing on the threshold was Cao Yan.

The middle-aged clan leader looked utterly haggard, his face pale and sweating bullets as he frantically wrung his hands together in a state of absolute terror.

Shen Yu didn’t say a single word.

He merely cast a cold, discerning look at the trembling man before turning around, leading him back into the hall of the pavilion.

Shen Yu fluidly took his seat on the high, carved chair at the head of the room, crossing one leg over the other as he leaned back into the shadows of his hood.

He stared down at the sweating clan leader, who practically collapsed into the opposite seat, his knees knocking together continuously.

"Calm yourself, Clan Leader Cao," Shen Yu rasped, his voice perfectly mimicking the dry, steady cadence of an ancient master.

"Take a breath, and tell me exactly what has happened to cause such a pathetic display."

Cao Yan swallowed hard, wiping a thick sheet of cold sweat from his forehead with a trembling sleeve.

He looked up at the disguised Shen Yu with eyes full of absolute desperation, completely unaware that his wife and daughter were standing just behind the bedroom screens, their bodies still sticky with the master cultivator’s essence.

"Senior Mo... it’s the Union!" Cao Yan stammered, his voice cracking under the sheer weight of his panic.

"Just an hour ago, they launched a massive counter-offensive in the market. They... they released a new pill! It is an upgraded version of our primary restoration medicine. The spiritual purity is nearly 2 percent higher, which means the purity is 98% and the efficacy is far more stable!"

He leaned forward, his hands gripping the edges of the wooden table so tightly his knuckles turned white.

"They are leveraging their brand and the superior quality to sell them at an incredibly high price, nearly 20% more than what we are charging for our standard batch, and the local cultivators are eating it up! The wealthy mercenary groups and the elder council members of the surrounding other clans are entirely flocking to their flagship stores. Our stores are only filled with the rogue cultivators and common people!"

Cao Yan’s breathing turned ragged as he looked at the stoic, unreadable face of the chemist.

"Senior, if this trajectory continues, the formidable momentum you built for us will completely evaporate by nightfall. The premium market will be entirely stripped from our grasp. What... what is our move?"
