Chapter 40 - The Abyssal Warpath

The void trembled as Jin-Ho Kang advanced, his form casting no shadow, for he was the abyss itself. The legion of wraiths followed in absolute silence, their presence bending reality with every step. The unknown force had challenged him, and now, it would be made to understand.

Ashborn's voice was steady but laced with something rareβ€”uncertainty. "My lord, we approach something... different. It does not resist as an enemy would, yet it does not yield. It is as if the very concept of defiance is foreign to it."

Jin-Ho's golden eyes gleamed with curiosity. "Then we shall introduce it to what it means to resist me."

He raised his hand, and the abyss responded. An unrelenting surge of darkness tore through existence, spiraling toward the unseen entity. For a brief moment, it seemed as if all of reality would collapse under his will.

And then, something impossible happened.

The abyss stopped.

Not because it was blocked, nor because it was repelled. It simply ceased to be, as if it had never existed at all.

Jin-Ho's eyes narrowed. He had rewritten fate itself, but this? This was beyond rewriting. This was something that denied even the concept of his existence.

A voice, neither malevolent nor benevolent, resonated through the void.

There is no war to be won. No throne to claim. Only that which is.

Jin-Ho smirked, his aura expanding. "Then I will claim what is."

The presence pulsed, not with power, but with something more fundamental. A raw, formless energy that could not be shaped, only experienced. For the first time since his ascension, Jin-Ho Kang found himself not as a ruler standing above all, but as a seeker, peering into something beyond his comprehension. π—³πš›πšŽπšŽπ˜„π•–π•“π•Ÿπ• πšŸπšŽπ•.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Yet, he did not fear it.

He welcomed it.

"Very well," he said, lowering his hand. "Show me."

The void quaked, and reality itself unraveled, welcoming the Shadow Monarch into the unknown.
