Preparation for the Yasmin Al-Rashid consultation took two days.
Not because the technical access was complex—by now the archived section work had become familiar enough that the process itself was straightforward. Two days because what they were about to do deserved careful thought before doing it. They would be telling a living person that their ancestor had been right about something important, had been dismissed for being right, and had died without vindication. The particular weight of that—someone being right, being told they were wrong by an institution they trusted, continuing to serve because the institution was all they had for verification—was not abstract. It was specific to Yasmin, specific to her situation, specific to what Timeline had preserved of her experience across three centuries.

Layla listened without interrupting. When Rama finished she was quiet for long enough that the silence became its own kind of answer.

"She suspected with sufficient grounding that the word knew is accurate," Sekar said. "She didn’t have framework to understand what the entities were actually doing. But she knew the behavior didn’t match what she’d been told to expect from threats."
"And she reported it."
"Yes."
"And they told her she was wrong."
"They classified the report as non-actionable and continued standard operations."
Layla looked at her hands for a moment. "The family story was always that she was a good soldier who followed orders and died doing her duty. That was the whole story. Good soldier, followed orders, died doing duty." She paused. "She wasn’t just following orders. She was thinking. She noticed something. She tried to do something about it."
"Yes."
"She was right and they ignored her and she died anyway."
The specific quality of Layla’s voice in that sentence was not grief exactly—it was something more complicated. The particular experience of learning that someone you’d understood one way was actually someone more interesting, more capable, more alive in their thinking than the institutional record had preserved. Not tragedy, not quite. Vindication complicated by the fact that vindication arrived three centuries too late for Yasmin to receive it.
Rama let the silence hold before asking: "How do you want to receive this?"
"I already am receiving it," Layla said. "This is it. This is what I wanted to know." She looked at them directly. "She wasn’t wrong. She wasn’t foolish or uncertain in a way that reflected badly on her judgment. She saw something real and nobody listened." A pause. "That’s not a tragedy. That’s—" She searched for the word. "That’s her. That’s who she actually was."
The distinction mattered and Layla was making it clearly: the story wasn’t a tragedy of wasted insight. It was a portrait of a person who was actually there, actually thinking, actually right about something important, even if the institution around her couldn’t receive it at the time.
Sekar offered gently: "Timeline preserved her doubt the same way it preserved everything else. Not because the doubt was the important part. Because Yasmin was."
Layla absorbed that. Nodded slowly.
The consultation continued for another hour—Layla asking specific questions about what the preserved awareness contained, Rama translating as accurately as possible what Timeline’s awareness of Yasmin had registered. Rama considered the question honestly rather than quickly. The situation was described clearly: Lv492 and Lv433 had established operational positions in adjacent areas of Singapore facility perimeter during cooperation paradigm development. The positions had been established legitimately, through appropriate cooperation protocols, at different times. The positions now overlapped in ways creating dimensional interference affecting both entities’ manifestation stability.
Standard Coalition arbitration had been offered. Both entities had declined—not from hostility to Coalition but from the specific logic of their situation. They had departed entity civilization’s collective consciousness precisely because they valued individual autonomy over collective arbitration. Accepting Coalition’s institutional arbitration—an authority they hadn’t chosen and whose basis for arbitrating dimensional entity disputes was unclear—created a different problem without resolving the original one.
They wanted Ambassador mediation.
Not Coalition authority. Not collective consciousness arbitration. Someone who understood dimensional reality at the level the dispute existed on, who had relationship with both parties, and who could facilitate resolution that both entities chose rather than one imposed by external authority.

Sekar: "Which is what mediation is supposed to be. Authority chosen by the parties rather than imposed on them."
