Chapter 37: Lunch With Thea
What the...
Kalon found himself reading over the message multiple times. He struggled to find the words to respond with.
He didn’t bother questioning why she had asked him to go. After all, she had shown sudden interest in him ever since his fight with Brandon.
Wait... That’s wrong. She showed interest even before that.
Before she knew how strong I was, she decided to warn me about Daniel Forest.
Kalon shook the thought from his head, as there were still other questions left unanswered.
Sure, Thea was beautiful.
However, Kalon had already decided that his relationships would be with aliens rather than humans.
He sat on his bed and scratched his chin.
...
Wouldn’t it be smart to have a woman here on Earth too? Or at least an ally?
...
System, what do you think?
The system responded immediately.
「Unfortunately, I am limited to alien women. In order for me to give my thoughts or opinions on women from Earth, you will need to reach a higher rank.」
Nice... What rank?
...
「Gold」
...
Great...
Pushing aside the thought of asking the system for help, Kalon came to his decision.
He would go for lunch with Thea.
After all, she was right.
It would be good for their social status.
...
Thea sat on her bed that night, staring idly at her phone.
It was already well into the night.
"Thea, are you still awake on that stupid phone? Don’t you know that sleep is important if you want to become a great fighter like me?"
The words came from Thea’s mother, Theodora. She was the ranked #1 fighter in the True Fighters organisation.
Her hair was blue like her daughter’s, but long and curly.
She was tall and incredibly busty, despite Thea being quite the opposite.
She stood in the doorway, watching as her daughter stared at her phone.
"I’m waiting for him to respond, Mum."
"Well, it’s not happening." Theodora palmed her face. "The poor boy’s probably sleeping. God knows he’s had an eventful day."
"Besides," she continued, "he’s probably got a bunch of women interested in him. Women with bigger breasts, like me. Hmm, it’s a shame you didn’t take after me genetically. Otherwise, you might have reached a D-cup."
Thea buried her face under her pillow in embarrassment. It was a side of her that only her mother ever saw.
"W-who says I’m trying to be more than just friends with him... and besides, I am a C-cup," Thea whispered.
Theodora tilted her head and looked at her daughter with doubt.
"With those tiny breasts? Hmm, bra sizes must have—"
PING!
Her words were cut off as Thea received a notification on her phone.
She almost leapt up just to read it. Her eyes widened as she scanned the message.
There wasn’t much, but everything she needed to see was there.
「1+ Message from: Kalon Manchester」
﹂Sure. 12 p.m. by the gates.
Her face lit up, and a smile spread across it.
"He responded. He accepted my invitation!" she cheered.
Theodora scoffed and began turning away from the doorway.
"Hm, I guess guys like smaller breasts these days."
...
The next morning, Kalon purposely arrived early at the academy gates in hopes of being there first.
The sun shone brightly overhead, and he was feeling particularly healthy and cheerful.
Not just because of the good weather, or because Daily Blessing had increased his Strength for the day.
It was mainly because, everywhere he walked, he was the centre of attention.
But not like he used to be.
Before, people would trip him as he walked past.
They would laugh at him for no reason.
Some would even record videos whilst doing things like pouring water over his head or pulling his trousers down.
But now things were different.
They looked at him as though they were trying to solve a puzzle.
The puzzle that was Kalon and his newfound strength.
He heard them whispering about him.
They spread rumours, saying that he was the one who had burned down the construction site.
Some even claimed he had been blessed by a god whose intention was to use him to punish people’s sins.
In a way, they weren’t entirely wrong, if you considered the Space Seducer System to be a god.
Ignoring the stares and whispers, Kalon eventually arrived at the academy gates.
Thea Bluegale was already there, waiting for him.
She wore a fitted black buttoned shirt that strained lightly against her breasts, with the top button undone to reveal the slightest glimpse of soft cleavage.
Her short black skirt swayed gently in the wind, lifting just enough to expose the smooth skin of her thighs and the curve of her hips.
Her bright blue hair had been straightened and reached down to her shoulders.
The moment she caught sight of Kalon, her face lit up.
Only for a moment.
Then it was replaced by the stern expression she usually wore.
Still, she looked beautiful.
Her blue eyes scanned Kalon as he approached.
He was dressed in black trousers, black boots, and a black buttoned shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
In a way, they matched.
"You look beautiful."
Kalon’s greeting stunned Thea for just a moment.
He himself was surprised that he had spoken so openly.
Perhaps it was because of his Boosted Ego trait.
Thea didn’t blush, but she did struggle to meet his eyes for a moment.
"Thank you... You look nice too."
It was a compliment that he would gladly accept.
After all, he hardly ever received them.
Without another word, the two began walking through the streets of London, an awkward silence hanging between them at first.
Eventually, Thea was the one to break it.
"How are you finding the fame?"
...
"It’s strange, for sure. I’m still figuring out how to deal with everything. So many organisations are reaching out to me, but I don’t know who to respond to."
Thea remained silent for a few moments before answering.
"I see. If you’d like, I can help you. My mother forces me to stay knowledgeable about all the organisations. I can at least give you some information about the ones that have contacted you."
Kalon found himself looking over at Thea as they walked along the riverside towards a café where they planned to eat.
When she looked back at him, he smiled slightly.
"Yeah... I would like that."
