Chapter 1242: Chapter 1242: Make Sure You Won’t See Tomorrow’s Sun
Summer Sutton had experienced Old Master Ink’s bad temper firsthand during the time she’d been living with the Ink Family.
The last time Watt Bennet showed up at the Ink Family estate, the Old Master had literally ordered cannons and bombs to welcome him.
This time he’d barged in again—how was the Old Master going to deal with him?
Watt Bennet wasn’t the type with a good temper either; his personality was about the same as the Old Master’s—both of them were the kind who went straight for guns and bombs.
Just imagining those two crashing into each other, Summer couldn’t help shivering.
After that, she completely lost her appetite for breakfast.
After breakfast, Manuel Ink tilted his head, walking in front of her as she kept her head down, and probed, "Want to rush over?"
He meant the Ink Family estate.
Summer went quiet after he said that.
She seemed to be thinking.
Weighing whether to go or not, she stayed silent for quite a while.
Manuel knew how worried she was about Watt Bennet; he’d originally thought that once she knew about this, her choice would definitely be to rush straight to the Ink Family estate.
Who knew that after Summer had been silent for a long, long time, she lifted her face and instead shook her head. "No. I’ve already left. His business has nothing to do with me anymore."
Manuel’s gaze froze for a moment; he clearly hadn’t expected that answer.
Summer didn’t say anything more, just kept her head down and continued upstairs.
After going upstairs, she didn’t pack her things or check out, but went back to working on her travel plan.
As for Watt Bennet, the last time he came to the Ink Family estate and stirred up that big a mess, the Old Master hadn’t really done anything to him. Summer felt that Old Master Ink would probably take her into consideration, and this time wouldn’t really do anything to Watt Bennet either.
Not dwelling on it any further, she finished her itinerary and stayed a few more days in the small town in South France.
...
Watt Bennet stayed at the Ink Family estate for a total of four days.
From the first day he came in, he believed Summer Sutton would definitely show up.
Yet with every day he waited, all he got in return was disappointment.
This version of Summer made Watt Bennet start doubting his own judgment.
Had she not left with Manuel Ink, or did she not know he was at the Ink Family estate?
After locking him up, the Old Master hadn’t laid a hand on him, clearly waiting for Manuel’s decision.
Manuel had to know he was at the Ink Family estate; if she was with Manuel, and Manuel knew, how could she not know?
Or... was she really not with Manuel?
But if she wasn’t with Manuel, then where was she?
Watt Bennet racked his brains and still couldn’t figure out where else Summer might be.
Outside the door, a set of footsteps approached.
The door swung open right after.
Old Master Ink’s figure appeared at the doorway, with a few bodyguards behind him.
He gave the seated Watt Bennet inside the room a contemptuous glance and snorted. "Boy, regretting coming here now?"
"What’s there to regret?" Watt Bennet shot back.
"Feels good being locked up for a few days?" Old Master Ink gave a short, derisive laugh, utterly scornful of him. "Let me tell you, when I was your age I was famous for my temper. You cross me, and I’ll make sure you don’t see tomorrow’s sun!"
"Scared yet?" The Old Master slanted him a look, watching his reaction.
Watt Bennet chuckled softly, as if he found his words a little ridiculous.
Instead of answering him head-on, Watt Bennet asked the only thing he really cared about: "I just want to know—has she been here?"
"And why the hell should I tell you?" Old Master Ink snorted in disdain.
