Chapter 1168: Chapter 1168: You Still Owe Me Five Years
"I’m just next door, call me if you need anything." With that, he closed the door behind him.
Summer Sutton’s gaze lingered in the direction of the door, listening to his footsteps fade away until she heard the door next door close, and then she withdrew her gaze.
Returning to her room, she quickly freshened up and lay on the bed, but no matter what, she couldn’t fall asleep.
She knew Ryan Walyon would never hurt her, and she was aware of the situation at the wedding scene in her absence. Ryan had told her everything that happened outside, but still, Summer Sutton couldn’t relax and sleep.
She was now Watt Bennet’s wife, and just for that reason alone, she couldn’t be alone with another man for several days.
Summer Sutton couldn’t wait any longer, unable to sleep at all tonight. She suddenly sprang up from the bed and, barefoot, headed for the balcony.
She moved very lightly, her gaze fixed on the room to her left.
The hotel she was currently in had a balcony for every room, and the distance between the balconies was not significant.
Jimmy Evans was in the room to her right; she just needed to avoid him and leave from the room on the left to gain her freedom.
Standing on the balcony, Summer Sutton measured the distance between the two room balconies, which should be about one meter or so.
Fearing that jumping over might make too much noise, Summer Sutton went back to the room, setting her eyes on a small rectangular table.
She folded the table legs, used the tabletop as a bridge, and placed it between the two balconies. Carefully climbing on it, she made her way to the balcony next door.
The room next door seemed unbooked, completely dark.
Once inside, Summer Sutton groped around for the light, only turning on a small one. With its dim glow, she opened the door and walked out.
She was still wearing the wedding dress from the ceremony today, and her bare feet walking through the hotel drew quite a bit of attention.
The only consolation was that Adrian Walyon had chosen a wedding dress style for her that wasn’t too cumbersome, so walking wasn’t too difficult.
Summer Sutton ignored the glances from others, lifted her skirt, and thudded downstairs.
She ran fast, afraid that Ryan Walyon might discover her, never daring to look back along the way.
Sprinting out of the hotel lobby and reaching the roadside, just as she was about to hail a cab, a black Rolls Royce suddenly stopped in front of her.
The person in the back seat scrutinized her up and down, again and again, even deliberately adjusted their reading glasses to see more clearly.
As Summer Sutton wondered, the person inside slowly lowered the car window.
"Oh, what a coincidence!" The voice from inside the car was thick with teasing.
Summer Sutton was momentarily stunned, and following the direction of the voice, saw the face inside, and froze.
"Girl, you still owe me five years!" The person in the car looked at her and said.
Summer Sutton’s heart suddenly sank halfway.
"Get in; if Manuel Ink sees you looking like this, he’d probably go chopping!" Old Master Ink teased again, opening the car door.
The Inks had done too much for Summer Sutton; she felt she didn’t even have the right to refuse them.
She hesitated outside the car, but eventually bent down and got in.
"Grandpa Ink, why are you back in the country?" Sitting next to the old master, Summer Sutton asked casually.
"Isn’t it all because of that rascal Manuel Ink! He said he was returning to the country, and once back, he stayed and didn’t leave for several days. Do you think I wouldn’t itch all over if I couldn’t see him? I’m not worried about that brat!"
