Chapter 434: Gifts (2)

"Gifts?" Elowen asked.

For some reason, she didn’t find herself particularly filled with hatred toward Grey. He had insulted her mother, kicked her sister, and even tied Petri up—a man pretty much everyone had a good impression of.

In fact, it was quite odd Grey didn’t like Petri so much. Usually, if someone was really so two-faced, more people would have picked up on it.

The thing was that Grey didn’t actually think that Petri was all that bad a person. He just thought too much of himself and Grey was both on a time crunch and pressed with his own self-imposed deadlines.

"Yes. I can give you as many blueprints as you want to study. I can build out even a few unique ones for you if you want. Of course, I won’t have the time to actually craft them for you, that will be up to you, or if I ever manage to actually return—oh, right. Almost forgot."

Grey walked over to Petri and plucked off his spatial ring. He found a restriction on it, and raised an eyebrow.

But then with a single threaded line from his Bringer of Light gloves, it shattered.

Petri’s eyes would have widened if he had control over them. Unfortunately for him, he did not.

Soon, Grey had access to all his belongings and, most importantly...

Grey pulled out the map he was looking for.

There was a click that rang out in the room and a sprawling map formed.

"Not bad, you actually kept your word. Though, I don’t know if you actually meant to give it to me without some caveats."

The map was truly sprawling, and as expected, it extended well beyond the borders of the empire.

But most importantly of all...

They were marked by zones.

Every zone from Zone 111 all the way up to Zone 511,322 was listed here. The map was... mind numbingly large.

Grey realized then that in order for this to make any sense, the Genesis Games would have to be as large as a star system at the very least... but a star system of nothing but endless, sprawling land.

He also realized that there were several Holy Empires, each one locked away in pockets of their own. Each one of these Holy Empires were assigned over a thousand zones on their own.

This one in particular had all the Zones from Zone 111 all the way up to Zone 1677.

The zones weren’t spread uniformly, and not all of them were attached to cities that formed subsidiaries of the empires either.

There were some zones in the middle of nowhere that probably had to deal with a first arc with a lot more danger and odds of dying, but they probably also had more of a chance for growth as well.

Grey couldn’t help but recall that one guy with the ice abilities who was fighting in the middle of a tundra.

But logically, if this Holy Empire had every Zone from Zone 111 to 1677, that meant that Thi Lan should be easier to reach than the others were.

Grey’s lip twitched. Another woman.

He really wasn’t trying to build out a harem, he swore.

Or maybe....

Grey grinned.

"Look at that perverted grin on his face. Ridiculous." Amunet said.

"Here," Brad tossed over a cushion from one of the seats, hitting Grey squarely in the face.

"The hell is this for?" Grey asked.

"Just cover yourself pre-emptively so I don’t have to watch it stare at me again."

Mauve snickered and then looked away. She was really having a hard time controlling her laughter these days.

"Stop looking then." Grey threw the cushion back.

"Sometimes there’s not even a choice. Like when it’s on the big screen, in the literal skies, and your body is frozen and forced to."

"Come again?" Amunet said.

"This guy has an exhibitionist streak. I’ve seen more of his dick than I’d like to admit. I think that’s why the Great Udon has such a hard-on for him."

Amunet was truly speechless.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," Grey said. "Slandering a man is a crime, you know."

"How would you know? You were too busy taking a dump and then falling asleep for the world to see."

Grey started to laugh as he thought he recalled what Brad was talking about.

"He’s laughing now, but he doesn’t know we heard him moan when the bidet started fondling his ass."

This time, even Elowen started laughing. There was something about people born in this world that seemed to make them understand the context of things surrounding the Genesis Games without truly "understanding".

Grey would have been too busy fighting for his honor if Elowen’s laugh didn’t make him recall something he had heard in the Instance. Those people had thought that Grey and the others were the NPCs, but Grey thought they were the NPCs...

Who was right, exactly?

"Hey, leave my butt cheeks out of this. Maybe I’m into that shit." Grey said.

Brad put his hands up. "Apologies, apologies your lordship."

"Anyway, right, we do, in fact, have a new member of my harem to pick up. Thi Lan is in a zone that’s within the borders of this Holy Empire. She’s the most easily reachable of the lot. But the others... I don’t know."

Grey frowned.

Even for the death of his son, Duke Valdri could only send Frantz on a trek that took several days to reach Zone 234. Even if Grey found an equivalent treasure, it would take that long to reach Thi Lan as well.

That should be fast enough so long as they didn’t get super unlucky, but what about the other zones?

You would think there would be some sort of fast teleportation method with all the strength and power these people had but...

Grey’s eyes widened.

’I can’t believe I forgot.’

Grey looked a bit frustrated, his hand moving through his hair as though to find some stress relief.

With how heavily protected spatial items were...

How could the empire possibly have a large scale teleportation formation?

But if there did happen to be one...

It could only be in one place under one person’s power.
