Chapter 212: Unexpected witnesses
The door opened completely, and the tense atmosphere inside the room shifted instantly.
Seo-yeon entered first. Right behind her walked Shweta.
Principal Ratan Ganguli recognized both girls immediately, and a faint knot tied in his stomach.
They weren’t just any students; they were the daughters of influential figures.
Seo-yeon’s father was a high-ranking diplomat from Korea, recently stationed here after a tenure in Indonesia, while Shweta’s mother held massive political and administrative clout from Germany. Though her father’s details were controversial, her maternal family was enough to earn her the highest regards.
Ratan vividly remembered the generous donation and personal request from Seo-yeon’s father to ensure his daughter’s transition into the school went smoothly.
Then there was Shweta.
Peerless academic records. A flawless disciplinary history. She was the model student whose words carried absolute weight. In fact, her face was currently plastered across the school prospectus as a student ambassador to attract elite families.
Shweta spoke first, her posture upright and confident. "Sir, we witnessed the entire incident from the very beginning."
Seo-yeon nodded in support. "So did I, Principal sir."
Mrs Briganza immediately folded her arms, letting out a sharp scoff. "They’re his friends, Ratan. Of course they’re going to protect him."
Shweta shifted her gaze directly onto her teacher, her expression unblinking. "With all due respect, ma’am, I am not here to protect anyone. I am here because staying silent and letting a lie stand would make me just as responsible."
Ratan gestured forward with his hand, his eyes locked on Shweta. "Go on."
Shweta took a steady breath. "Rocky has been relentlessly harassing Seo-yeon since the day she joined this school."
The room froze completely.
Rocky’s face drained of color as he scrambled for words. "That’s absolute bullshit!"
Seo-yeon spoke up, her voice incredibly calm but unyielding. "It isn’t."
She walked forward and placed her phone face-up on the principal’s desk. "I have screenshots of those one sided messages, the missed call logs, and the explicit texts. There are several classmates in our room who can verify exactly how uncomfortable he has made me."
Rocky bolted upright from his chair, his hands trembling. "She liked me first! She’s lying—"
"Sit down!" Ratan’s thunderous roar cracked through the room. Rocky practically collapsed back into his seat, sweat visibly breaking out across his forehead.
Seo-yeon continued as if the interruption hadn’t even happened. "This morning, they intentionally targeted and provoked Rohit. They threw a football at his back. They aggressively brushed against his shoulder. They repeatedly hurled insults at him in front of the crowd. When Rocky called him over... I personally grabbed Rohit’s sleeve and begged him not to go."
Everyone in the room instinctively turned their eyes toward Rohit.
Ratan leaned forward. "So why did you go, Rohit?"
Rohit blinked for a while to digest the shamelesness then answered as if the incarnation of god of morality himself, his voice smooth and confident. "Because if I had walked away today, sir, they would have just picked a softer target tomorrow. As a senior, I felt it was my responsibility to step in and talk it out before it escalated into something worse."
The answer lingered heavily in the quiet room. It was the perfect response—framing his actions as noble mentorship rather than a street brawl.
Shweta quickly picked up the narrative. "Yes sir, he didn’t attack them. He kept his hands in his pockets the entire time when he approached them. He even calmly asked which class they belonged to and requested the name of their homeroom teacher. He was literally trying to escort Rocky to your office to settle the disrespect formally. It was literally them who mocked and escalated the situation."
Rosalyn’s eyes narrowed into a fierce glare. "That is nothing more than your highly biased version of the story!"
Shweta met her eyes without flinching. "No, ma’am. It is the exact version currently recorded on half the school’s mobile phones." She even placed her on the table with preview open on screen."And I happen to record one myself."
Realizing she was losing ground rapidly, Rosalyn turned fully toward the principal.
Her tone abruptly cracked, shifting away from standard professional faculty demeanor into something far more familiar and desperate. "Please, Ratan. Don’t listen to them. They’re just children. You know how easily kids can fabricate stories and manipulate videos these days."
The room went dead silent.
Several of the football players instinctively glanced at each other, their eyes widening.
On the other side of the desk, Rohit slowly raised a single eyebrow, a sharp, dangerous grin playing at the edge of his lips.
She had just called him Ratan .Not "Sir." Not "Principal." Just... Ratan.
Rohit’s mind immediately began to piece the puzzle together, locking that piece of information away for later probing. A math teacher and a principal on first-name terms behind closed doors? First karishma and now even her? This was getting interesting.
The principal’s face stiffened almost imperceptibly. His jaw clenched as he cleared his throat loudly, the back of his neck flushing red. "Mrs. Briganza."
Rosalyn instantly froze, a look of sheer panic washing over her features as she realized what she had just let slip in front of students. "...I... I mean, Principal Ganguli..."
Before she could attempt to salvage her blunder, Seo-yeon’s gentle voice cut through the awkward tension. "Sir."
Everyone looked back at the transfer student."In India we moved to your school because my father deeply trusted the pristine reputation of this institution," Seo-yeon said, her expression entirely respectful but carrying an icy undertone. "But if a student can be constantly harassed on campus, and the faculty’s immediate reaction is to shield the aggressors and blame the victim without a proper investigation... then I will be left with no choice."
Ratan felt something cold sink deep into the pit of his stomach.
Seo-yeon finished calmly, "I will have to inform my father. And he will be forced to pursue this matter directly through the Education Bureau."
No one dared to breathe.
Then, Shweta took a half-step forward, anchoring the threat."I’ll have to do the same," Shweta added evenly. "My mother would also be very keen to know why multiple students and eyewitnesses were completely dismissed in favor of protecting a faculty member’s son."
The office became suffocatingly quiet.
For the first time since the morning had broken, the principal realized this was no longer a simple schoolyard fight. It had mutated into an institutional nightmare that could destroy the school’s reputation—and his own career—by noon.
