Chapter 200: Chapter 200: Blackwood Can Also Exorcise?

"Hon, I think I was really tempted by a Demon. I went into a Dungeon before and gritted my teeth to buy a special fishing rod. Yesterday, I fished up a beautiful hair flower, and the system prompt said it was a ’Temptation from a Demon’."

"That was the very first catch with my special fishing rod, so I couldn’t bear to just throw it away. But keeping it... well, today I felt its power. Of course, maybe it wasn’t what attracted them, but anyway, a ton of monsters appeared around my raft! If I didn’t have a partner with me, I’m afraid I would have been done for today."

After hearing her out, Faye Yardley thought, ’An opportunity like this?’ She said, "Miss Bonnie, you don’t want it anymore? Why not transfer it to me?"

"No, no, no, I can’t bring you trouble," Bonnie Callahan said. "I just wanted to vent to someone, as a final farewell to this flower."

"You’re going to throw it away anyway, so just sell it to me. If it can really attract a lot of Sea Monsters, that would be the best way for me to maintain my ranking."

Bonnie Callahan was stunned for a moment before asking, "Are you really, really sure it won’t affect you?"

"If it does, I’ll just throw it away then. Who knows, maybe the recycler can even take it."

"I forgot to mention, this flower is really good at bewitching people. You’ll constantly hear a Demon’s whispers in your ear. I managed to resist for a day yesterday and my Spirit actually increased by 1 point, but I feel utterly exhausted. I’m afraid I won’t be able to resist its temptation tonight and will end up wearing it. Whatever you do, don’t put it on your head."

Faye Yardley thanked her sincerely. "Okay, thank you for the warning, Miss Bonnie. I’ll be careful."

A moment later, she received a Red Envelope from Bonnie Callahan. After accepting it, she was holding a peony hair flower. She took a look at it; it was indeed very pretty.

"Meow~"

The little black cat, Blackwood, suddenly leaped down from the fireplace-mantle and jumped onto the swinging chair.

It gestured toward the hair flower, then looked at her expectantly.

Faye Yardley stroked the little black cat’s head. "Blackwood, you don’t want to eat it, do you?"

The little black cat nodded with certainty.

"But I want to use it to attract Sea Monsters. How about you eat it after the event is over and I’m done attracting them?"

The little black cat shook its head, meowing urgently.

"Alright, alright, you can have it. You’re such a greedy little cat."

As she spoke, she brought the hair flower to the little black cat’s mouth.

She watched as the little black cat plunged its head into the peony. Faye Yardley clearly noticed the peony’s color start to fade.

When it finally became an almost transparent white peony, the little black cat lifted its head, swayed a couple of times as if drunk, and then collapsed into Faye Yardley’s arms, fast asleep.

"Blackwood, Blackwood, are you okay?"

"Don’t worry, Sister. I’ve scanned it, and it’s fine."

Meanwhile, on a raft on another part of the ocean, Bonnie Callahan collapsed on her way from the living room to the bedroom, falling unconscious.

Faye Yardley carefully cradled the little black cat in her palm, then placed it back on the Pet Sofa, even meticulously covering it with a Flower Handkerchief as a blanket.

When she picked up the hair flower again, she received a system prompt: "This is a successfully exorcised hair flower. It can be worn without worry."

"Exorcised?! So Blackwood also has the ability to perform exorcisms! That’s so amazing! What a cool power!"

Faye Yardley looked at the hair flower in her hand. Without the pink hue, the nearly transparent peony was still very eye-catching, but it no longer had that ’I must possess this’ feeling to it.

’This probably can’t attract Sea Monsters anymore, right? Oh well, I’ll wear it tomorrow and give it a try. If it doesn’t work, I’ll return it to Miss Bonnie. I should also see how Blackwood is doing and give her something as thanks.’

It was obvious that Blackwood wouldn’t get an upset stomach from it, but what it might turn into was anyone’s guess.

She placed the hair flower on the swinging chair, went out the balcony door, and walked over to the thatched shed where Bella was.

"Bella, you worked hard today. Here, try this."

As she spoke, she took the two leaves that had fallen from the Magic Plant and offered them to Bella’s mouth.

Bella had no tongue; in fact, it looked like a complete skeleton. To this day, Faye Yardley still hadn’t figured out how it managed to eat.

The leaves quickly vanished from her hand. Bella snorted happily, and then Faye Yardley noticed that the once bone-white skeleton now had faint specks of light green on it.

What was this transformation?

"Bella, you didn’t eat something bad, did you?"

Bella shook its head, seeming quite excited. It wanted to take her for a ride out on the great sea.

Not wanting to spoil its fun, Faye Yardley vaulted onto the horse. Bella then carried her around the raft several times.

So it really liked eating the Magic Plant’s leaves, just as much as it liked the Light Energy Fragments.

Back on the raft, Faye Yardley went ahead and opened the Wooden Treasure Chest she had picked up while salvaging junk during the day.

As expected, aside from food and basic materials, it contained event-related salvaging tools. She even got a small recycler.

There wasn’t anything else unexpected. Feeling it was still early, Faye Yardley entered the training room again.

When she came out of the training room: [Constitution +1, Strength +1].

’It really takes a long time to increase stats by just training on your own,’ she thought, ’but the feeling of getting stronger is still amazing.’

"System, show me my current personal Attributes."

Looking at her attribute panel, Faye Yardley felt she could be a little proud. After all, she had been working really hard, and her efforts had not been in vain.

Just as she was gleefully admiring her attribute panel, a video call came in.

RING RING RING~

"Bro, it’s almost 11 PM. Is something up?"

"Can’t I call you just to chat? You’re amazing, you know. My little Faye is now number one on the entire server."

Faye Yardley chuckled. "Of course. Be nice to me, and I’ll have your back from now on. I’ll let you rule these seas."

"Listen to you getting all high and mighty," Ethan Yardley said. "If the junk and monsters really do start increasing tomorrow, it’ll probably get worse each day. If you can’t handle it, remember to tell me. I’ll have Tiberius go help you."

"It’s fine, I can handle it. Okay, okay, if I can’t handle it, I’ll definitely ask you for help."

"Just remember not to push yourself too hard. You’ve still got your big brother, you know."

"Okay. And you don’t have to worry too much about me, Bro. Your little sister is someone who can dominate the leaderboards, making everyone else tremble in their boots."

They exchanged a few more words before he told her to get some rest and hung up.

Being cared for by her brother made Faye Yardley’s heart feel warm.

It made her look forward to tomorrow even more.
