Chapter 182: Chapter 182: The Raft Can Fuse with Items

Leo Sloan: Yeah, I managed to increase my Constitution a bit by working out. I’ll try going into the sea in a bit.

Wade Warren: Let’s go together! If Mr. Sloan jumps, I jump.

Leo Sloan: Don’t say it like that, it’s creepy.

Faye Yardley smiled at their banter.

’Come to think of it, I exercise in the training room all the time. How come just working out doesn’t give me any extra Attributes anymore?’

’It can’t be that it stopped working just because my Attributes are higher, right?’

Her stomach rumbled. She was truly hungry. After getting up, she first went to the small balcony to check on the Green Egg and the Magic Seed. She fed them a Light Energy Fragment and some Flower Dew, respectively. The Green Egg showed no change, but the Magic Seed’s little sprout had already grown to about 50 centimeters tall.

She still couldn’t tell what kind of plant it was.

"Alright now, you two need to grow up quickly. I’ve already fed you an extra time today, so don’t let it go to waste."

Not caring whether they could understand her, Faye Yardley spoke a few words out of habit before heading downstairs to feed the cat.

"Sister, you’re up! You must be starving. The food is ready."

"Thank you, Willow. You’re so thoughtful."

The seafood "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall" was incredibly delicious, and Faye Yardley ate with great satisfaction.

After eating, she sat on the swinging chair, letting her mind go blank.

"Huh, I got some meat from my trip out... I..."

As Faye Yardley spoke, she took the meat out of her backpack. To her surprise, what had originally been just edible meat had now become meat imbued with Divinity.

"Meeow~"

Faye Yardley turned to look at the Bronze Cat Statue on the mantelpiece. She could see an emotion in the cat’s eyes—an urgent, desperate wanting.

"I’ll store this meat in the warehouse for now. Don’t use it yet. We still don’t know what will happen if we eat it."

Willow Yardley swallowed hard but still replied, "Understood."

Faye Yardley turned her head to look at Willow Yardley. "You want to eat it too?"

Blushing slightly, Willow Yardley chose to be honest and nodded.

Faye Yardley gave her a piece of meat. "Go ahead and cook it for yourself."

"Meow meow meow!"

Faye Yardley got up and walked towards the fireplace. "Alright, alright, you get some too."

She presented the large piece of meat to the Bronze Cat. The chunk of meat was actually bigger than its entire body, yet it vanished with a WHOOSH.

Then, with a THUMP, the Bronze Cat Statue fell over onto its side.

’Hehehe~’

Seeing it like this, Faye Yardley got the strange feeling that it had eaten itself into a stupor. She remembered getting a Pet Sofa from a chest opening before, so she took it out and placed it between the fireplace and the large sofa she was lying on. Then she moved the Bronze Cat onto the Pet Sofa.

Faye Yardley then saw it seem to move, as if shifting into a more comfortable position.

’Divinity?’

’How interesting.’

Willow Yardley could have eaten the meat raw, but she felt it was better to conform to common human practices. So, she simply pan-fried the meat. Making it to the table was the last act of her willpower; she then immediately shoved it into her mouth, heedless of the heat.

After finishing, her reaction was no different from the Bronze Cat’s. With a THUD, she collapsed onto the table, fast asleep.

Faye Yardley looked at the cat, then at Willow Yardley. She went over and carried Willow to the sofa to lie down.

’Looks like this meat is really something special. But I don’t dare eat it myself.’

’Who knows what kind of mutations it would cause in a person.’

’There are so many ways to get stronger; there’s no need to experiment on myself.’

After a moment’s thought, she realized that she and Zephyr Sterling were likely the only ones with this kind of meat. She tried calling him directly, but there was no answer.

’Faye Yardley really suspected he might have eaten this meat with Divinity as well.’

’I hope he doesn’t develop any major problems from it.’

After thinking it over, she left him a message: "Mr. Zephyr Sterling, the edible meat brought back from the Land of Damnation has all become meat imbued with Divinity. Please be cautious when consuming it. Also, the payment I promised you is in a Red Envelope. Please check for it."

Faye Yardley sighed softly. She couldn’t worry about it anymore. She was going to the training room to increase her training under amplified gravity.

It was nearly midnight when she left the training room.

On her way back to her room, she passed through the living room. Willow Yardley and the cat were still sleeping soundly. After all, the cat’s eyes were open when it was awake, and they were still closed now.

She took a quick shower, and by the time she lay down in bed, it was past midnight.

She turned on the TV and glanced at the national channel’s projection. Many people were celebrating that once midnight passed, the wind and waves had noticeably calmed, and the torrential downpour had stopped.

Faye Yardley smiled. ’Looks like this natural disaster is finally over.’

’I don’t even look at the population count in the bottom-left corner anymore. Looking at it just puts me in a bad mood. It’s not worth it.’

She turned off the light and went straight to sleep. When she woke up again, it was 4:00 a.m.

Downstairs, both of them were still not awake. ’No way. Is the Divinity in that meat really that potent?’

’I’ll leave them be. What’s done is done. They’ve already eaten it, and it’s too late to get it out of their systems now.’

Faye Yardley opened the balcony’s sliding glass door herself and went to the thatched shelter. She sat cross-legged and began practicing the Health Care Scripture, facing the direction of the rising sun.

She had gone from being able to complete a maximum of four Great Cycles to now barely being able to touch the edge of a fifth.

’I’m sure that as long as I keep at it, I’ll soon be able to complete five cycles easily.’

This nearly two-hour Cultivation session of the Health Care Scripture left her feeling more refreshed and full of energy than if she had slept for four hours.

She took out her fishing rod and cast the line, deciding to fish up two more Wooden Treasure Chests to make a total of ten for a ten-chest opening spree.

While fishing, she took out the wontons Willow Yardley had made earlier from her warehouse and waited for the treasure chests to bite.

No matter what she hooked, Faye Yardley felt the same joy of a good harvest. The treasure chests were coming in quickly, too.

She had already caught two before it was even 7:00 a.m.

She decisively reeled in her line.

’Forget about pressing my advantage or thinking the more I fish, the more I’ll get. For Faye Yardley, fishing for treasure chests to acquire resources was no longer a necessity.’

She had many other options now, so naturally, she didn’t need to spend all her time fishing for chests.

Besides, she needed High Level treasure chests, and unfortunately, this fishing rod alone couldn’t pull up Silver Boxes.

She had yet to even see a treasure chest ranked above silver.

She went to the small room, arranged all the wooden chests side by side, put her hands together, muttered a quick Spell, and then started opening them.

The wooden chests mostly contained basic materials, with some food and drinks. Special items were truly rare unless there was some kind of system event.

In any case, after opening all ten chests, Faye Yardley had only obtained one somewhat special drop.

She looked at the three identical, ordinary marine radars lined up in a row before her.

’Is this thing even useful here?’

[Compatible radar detected. Fuse with raft?]

"Yes."

A moment later, one of the radars in front of her disappeared, and the raft gained an automatic detection function.

"Oh~ so now I can know what’s in a 50-meter radius around the raft ahead of time? That’s actually really useful."
