Chapter 246: Barbie sports car
"You think too much. I am just taking a look," he said but Bo Ailun knew what take a look meant.
He was about to stop him again and someone in the group noticed Qie Xieling. "God Lin," he said and the others turned their heads. Who in this circle didn’t know this legend?
They could recognise him even if he was turned to ash. "Can I take a picture with you," said one of the girls dressed cutely like a Loli.
He glanced at her car which looked like a unicorn had vomited on it. The girl noticed his glance and suggested, "Can you sign on my car too? Ah, god Lin, I admire you so much."
It didn’t take long before he was surrounded by adoring fans. It was so bad that Bo Ailun could barely see him. Worried that he would be squished to death by his fans, he took a step forward. Jolie blocked his path with her outstretched arm and said, "Let him be. He needs this to attract her attention."
Bo Ailun was a little confused. His brows creased as he asked, "Who?"
The so-called who was sitting in her office on the top floor of the nightclub vaping while looking down at the bustling street outside.
Her eyes narrowed when she saw people gather thus she stood up to take a good look while tucking her low-cut silk blouse into her mini pencil skirt.
Within the crowd a head looked up and their eyes met. She bit her lower lip slightly when she saw who it was.
Qie Xieling couldn’t see her but she could clearly see him. She let out rings of smoke before pressing the call button on the phone on her desk.
With a beep, the person on the other line answered, "Yes ma’am?"
"Tell them whoever wins tonight gets to leave in my Lexus and have exclusive VIP access to my lounge," she said and the assistant answered,
"Yes ma’am, I will pass it down." He knew she was referring to the RC F GT3 because that was the only car that would attract these street racers.
Soon messages about this were air-dropped to their phones. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to take that deal?
Lee Ya watched them disperse as the atmosphere was even more unruly. She ran her fingers in her hair as she left her office.
Jolie beckoned Qie Xieling over and said, "This is your chance. It should be a piece of cake for you."
Qie Xieling who had some idea of what was happening laughed softly before saying, "But I don’t have a car."
"Yes, you do. Use mine," said the sweet girl from before. Qie Xieling looked at the car that looked like it belonged to Barbie and pursed his lips.
"What? Do you have a problem with pink? You can’t afford to be picky right now." asked Jolie and the cute girl looked like she was going to cry.
Qie Xieling wasn’t being picky neither did she have a problem with the colour. His hesitation was because it was written sexy bitch on the side.
"No no, I am not being picky. If I win I will give you the car," he said. The girl wanted to refuse but he didn’t give her the chance. He accepted the keys and as he opened the wing door he felt a gaze burrowing through his skin. When he turned to look he saw Lee Ya staring at him as she walked by.
Her long rust-brown hair bounced as she took a step in her thin-heeled stiletto. She looked away and carried on walking like they didn’t know each other. Qie Xieling’s brow creased as she glanced at the thin heels.
His face was suddenly pinched and pulled back. "If you keep staring I will start to think you are bi," she whispered and Qie Xieling hurriedly defended himself.
"No, I was wondering how anybody can walk in such thin heels. It’s like walking on a needle," he said and Jolie shrugged her lips kind of understanding his train of thought.
"Make me proud," she said and Qie Xieling stepped into the car.
"You got this god Lin!" yelled the little loli girl while Bo Ailun yelled,
"Smoke these fools."
Qie Xieling nodded his head and changed the gear before driving towards the start line. The night air buzzed with electric energy as the racers lined up at the start line, their engines purring and exhaust fumes swirling in the darkness.
Qie Xieling stopped at the start line, his borrowed pink car shining brightly under the dazzling street lights. The engine growled beneath him, ready to be unleashed upon the city streets.
His competition was formidable and this would be undoubtedly a challenge but he was a world champion after all.
To his right, Lepracon, known for his lightning-fast reflexes and daring manoeuvres, revved his engine with a sinister grin. Sting, the up-and-coming racer, smirked at him with a glint of mischief in his eyes.
Keira, the skilled racer with the fastest car in the city, tucked her hair behind her ear calmly and confidently. And then there was Shaun, a former world champion stripped of his glory due to drug use. His eyes burned with a mixture of anger and envy as he stared at Qie Xieling.
The signal to start the race blared, and Qie Xieling floored the accelerator. The pink car zoomed off the line, leaving a trail of dust in its wake. The asphalt stretched out before him, a canvas waiting to be conquered. Bumping and swaying, Qie Xieling manoeuvred through the hairpin turns and straightaways, adrenaline pumping through his veins.
But things weren’t as smooth as one would expect. Qie Xieling had made a lot of enemies by just being him. Shaun, consumed by rage, veered his car towards Qie Xieling, attempting to run him into a nearby building. In a swift and graceful move, Qie Xieling veered away, narrowly evading disaster. Shaun’s car careened into a pole, leaving him sidelined and seething with frustration.
Meanwhile, Sting saw an opportunity to take down his rivals. With a malicious grin, he targeted Keira, his dirty tricks coming to fruition as he ran her off the road. Now, he set his sights on Qie Xieling, the pink car in his crosshairs.
