Chapter 244: Hurricane Xieling
The secretary’s words had awakened within him a grim truth but releasing Qie Xieling without some sort of reassurance wouldn’t work for him.
The room fell into an eerie silence, interrupted only by the distant rumble of thunder. Luo Muchen’s gaze slowly shifted from the window to his secretary, his eyes brimming with a mix of resignation and determination.
"Bring back Doctor Kang. Tell him to put a tracker on him and set him free tomorrow. From now on you also keep an eye on him. Your service isn’t required here," he commanded, his voice chilling.
A flicker of relief washed over Jolie’s face. She knew this was her being demoted for going against his orders but she would rather keep an eye on Qie Xieling as he was her priority.
She was also glad Luo Muchen was willing to let Qie Xieling go otherwise they won’t be able to get anything done. She nodded and with a steely resolve, she turned and left the room, leaving Luo Muchen standing alone in his office.
As the door closed behind her, Luo Muchen returned his focus to the inky darkness that stretched beyond his window. The looming cloud mirrored the turbulent darkness swirling within him, a reminder of the dangers that threatened to consume his carefully constructed world. His lone figure seemed quite lonely.

The elevator doors opened with a soft ding and the secretary who was expecting a visitor glanced at the entrance with a look of confusion. "Sir, you can’t enter there. Sir... security," yelled the poor woman as Qie Xieling strode into Luo Muchen’s office like he owned the building.
It was easy to tell how he got in. It was Jolie who let him in and she had her reasons. She was tired of Qie Xieling’s defeated look and complains. The more she hung out with him the more she saw the difference between him and his dads. His heart was so soft and squishy and needed protecting.
Qie Xieling opened the door expecting to see Luo Muchen sitting at his desk working but lo and behold he was sitting next to Bager eating lunch.
Qie Xieling, "WTF!"
His expression looked like a wife who had caught her husband eating the food next door without him knowing. No wonder he didn’t come back home all this time. It’s because he was playing house with somebody else.
"Wow, am I disturbing something?" he asked the sourness in his voice failing to be concealed.
"Yes,"
"Why are you here?"
These were the two responses he got and it was easy to tell who said what.
He walked over and picked up Luo Muchen’s bento his etiquette thrown outside the window. Using the same pair of chopsticks Luo Muchen used he picked a piece of shrimp from the fried rice and ate it. Luo Muchen’s eyes darkened watching him eat from the bento with the things he used.
After chewing his face contorted as he picked up a serviette and spat it out. "Oh god. Are you trying to poison him?" he said accusingly to Bager. Bager who was clenching his fist in anger couldn’t bear it anymore.
"GET OUT!!" he roared while Qie Xieling picked up the teacup near Luo Muchen and gargle his mouth.
Was the food that bad? Probably not but who told Bager to flirt with his man? Qie Xieling swallowed the warm tea before saying, "Why should I when it’s not your office? Only he can kick me out."
Bager’s gaze shifted to Luo Muchen his eyes clearly expressing his meaning. Luo Muchen turned to Qie Xieling and said, "If you want to say something you can say it through Secretary Chan."
Bager showed a taunting smile as Qie Xieling’s smile froze. He was so hurt. This was like the husband siding with the mistress.
With his tongue pressed on his cheek, he threw the serviette in the trash. He took out his cell phone and transferred all the money he had gathered from this game character’s hidden assets. He transferred all of it to Luo Muchen. Soon Luo Muchen’s cell phone kept dinging as notifications poured in.
Qie Xieling also forwarded the deeds to all the properties he found that were under his name. He gave it all to Luo Muchen. "I owe less than a third of the debt. Sell the properties and it will make up the difference," he said the smile that was in his eyes a day ago gone.
Luo Muchen’s brow twitched feeling something was wrong again. It was like Qie Xieling was treating this more like a business transaction which was a complete change in attitude when compared to yesterday.
"Enjoy the rest of your lunch," he said before he coldly turned and left. Bager had never felt this good in his entire life. For the first time, he had won over Qie Xieling. It still bothered him that he was still alive but he was sure he wouldn’t last long.
The head of the Eastside triads was looking to put him six feet under. Luo Muchen glanced down at the pair of chopsticks on his table and couldn’t help but feel some heaviness in his chest. For a moment he sat there in a daze not knowing what he was thinking.
Bager thought that he was disgusted that Qie Xieling had eaten from his bento so he took away the food and tossed it in the trash along with the chopsticks.
"I am sorry. We can eat mine," he said and Luo Muchen shook his head. It seemed like he was really not in the mood. He might have been in a terrible mood but Qie Xieling was pissed.
He appeared harmless but when he was mad he was pretty much explosive like TNT. In his heart, he had already written Bager’s name in the death notebook not only in the game but in the real world. He couldn’t wait to get his hands on him.
While Bo Ailun and Jolie were feeling the brunt of hurricane Xieling something much worse happened.
Qie Xieling received a call from Luo Muchen. Thinking maybe, just maybe Luo Muchen was about to apologise Bo Ailun urged him to answer.
Bo Ailun hated Luo Muchen but he couldn’t bear Qie Xieling’s anger even more. Qie Xieling refused to pick it up. After three consecutive calls, he finally stopped calling.
That’s when the messages started coming in. The cell phone buzzed twice and Bo Ailun gave him the cell phone.
Qie Xieling took a sip of the mojito Jolie made for him while refusing to read it. Bo Ailun unlocked the cell phone and read the message aloud.
"He said you have the balls not to pick up my calls now... oh and he said he isn’t done with you yet. You still owe him his family diamond."
Qie Xieling who knew this game character never stole a diamond, "..."
He grabbed the brand-new cell phone and typed angrily.
Xieling: I don’t owe you shit.
Xieling: I never had it in the first place.
Ten seconds later Bo Ailun witnessed the new cell phone jump to its death out of his apartment building.
"Lin Lin! You do realise that we are broke now, right?" he yelled while standing at the window watching the cell phone shatter into pieces on the street.
