Chapter 237: "Hey hey hey at least buy me a drink first,"
Qie Xieling’s nerves were stretched taut as he followed the men through the winded corridors leading to the private VIP parking. The flickering fluorescent lights heightened his unease, casting eerie shadows across the cold, concrete walls. He had no idea what shady business deals this game character had with this criminal organisation but whatever it was it couldn’t be good. The fact that the system was playing possum made it worse. It further amplified his anxiety.
As he approached the row of black SUVs, elegantly lined up like formidable sentinels, the bustling atmosphere outside the stadium faded into a distant hum. The men surrounding him exuded an air of unquestionable authority, their demeanour demanding respect and obedience.
Trying to maintain his composure, Qie Xieling fought to suppress the tremor in his hands.
As he passed the third SUV, an inexplicable sense of discomfort sent a chill down his spine. His gaze darted towards the tinted window, searching for the source of his unease.
Behind the opaque glass, he felt the weight of someone’s scrutiny, an intense gaze that seemed to penetrate his very soul. The mysterious figure inside tapped their knee with their finger while watching him.
Caught in this unnerving moment, Qie Xieling’s consciousness was abruptly shattered as one of the men shoved him forward, urging him to continue walking.
With no choice but to comply, he reluctantly moved towards the fourth car. Its door swung open, revealing a dimly lit interior that concealed its occupants. Taking a deep breath, Qie Xieling gathered his courage and stepped inside, his heart pounding against his chest.
The synchronized purr of the engines ignited, resonating through the confined space of the parking lot. The motorcade surged forward, engulfing Qie Xieling in a cocoon of uncertain destiny. Blindfolded and with a sack over his head, he felt a wave of overwhelming vulnerability. He couldn’t help but think this was overkill. A blindfold alone would have sufficed but it seemed they really didn’t want him to know where they were going.
As the motorcade left behind the familiarity of the stadium and delved into the unknown, Qie Xieling couldn’t help but call the system yet again. ’If you don’t show your face I will make you pay once I get out of this stupid game,’ he said but just like the other times, there was no response. He sighed heavily as he leaned back into his seat only for his pockets to be frisked.
"Hey hey hey at least buy me a drink first," he said and the man stopped moving while glaring at him. Qie Xieling turned his head to look at him but the both of them knew he couldn’t see anything. He was as blind as a bat.
"How about after this you buy me a drink? I am a cocktail type of guy," he said his voice muffled by the sack on his head. He poked the man’s shoulder resulting in his hands being tied by a zip tie.
"The only thing you will be drinking is salt water tonight," said the man sending shivers all over Qie Xieling’s body. The man took Qie Xieling’s cell phone and tossed it out of the car window before closing it.
The expensive cell phone was run over several times by the vehicles behind them till it was broken to pieces. It no longer represented a cell phone at all.
Bo Ailun who was tracking Qie Xieling’s cell phone while driving on the highway saw it go offline and he punched the steering wheel several times. This was really frustrating. What shitty luck they had that after winning the world championship he was kidnapped by these criminals.
Qie Xieling had no idea that Bo Ailun was willingly putting himself in danger. He was busy thinking of ways to get himself out of this situation when they arrive at their destination. If the person was really Luo Muchen then he would have to come up with a clever way to save himself.
Qie Xieling’s heart raced the longer he sat in the car. After what felt like an eternity, the car finally came to a halt, and the sound of the door opening sent chills down his spine. Two powerful men, one on each side, forcefully dragged him out of the vehicle.
All five cars had been parked inside the large warehouse and he was dragged outside at the dock. His body was slammed to the ground and he braced for impact with the cold and hard ground beneath him.
His feet were suddenly viciously tied together, rendering him immobile. Darkness consumed his world until the sack and blindfold were ripped off, exposing him to the harsh sunlight. Squinting against the sudden brightness, his eyes struggled to adjust.
Once his vision cleared, Qie Xieling’s gaze fell upon the imposing figure of Luo Muchen, seated casually on a chair. He exuded an air of indifference, his expression unreadable.
Despite the dire situation, Qie Xieling couldn’t help but be captivated by his commanding presence and strikingly handsome features. His heart was stirred so much that he disregarded the situation and smiled.
Luo Muchen’s brow twitched lightly. He couldn’t understand why Qie Xieling was smiling. It was obvious how this entire thing was going to end yet here he was grinning like a fool. He raised his hand and took out a cigarette from his breast pocket.
The woman next to him flicked her lighter on and lit the cigarette for him. Qie Xieling was a little surprised. He knew that Luo Muchen didn’t smoke so it was weird seeing him smoking right now. He was about to say something when his attention was drawn to the sight of Luo Muchen’s injured hand. Concern filled his eyes as he absentmindedly sat up to take a closer look.
His voice betrayed a mix of genuine curiosity and worry as he inquired, "What happened to your hand? Did you get it checked?"
President Luo ignored him as he took a long drag of his cigarette. From the corner of his eye, he could clearly see Qie Xieling’s concern for him but it was quite laughable.
The man who robbed him of millions that is after sending damming evidence to his competitors was worried for him? Not only that but he also stole his family heirloom the red arwin a four thousand-carat diamond and no one knew where it was. Now that person was showing his fake concern to save his neck? It was ridiculous.
