Chapter 233: "You seem to have had a lot of fun last night,"

Wen Qinxi rolled over his lower back aching like he had been deadlifting while he was asleep. He pulled the quilt while calling out softly, "Ran-ge... I want coffee," but after waiting for a response none came. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

He opened his eyes abruptly and moved his hand around to Qie Ranzhe’s side of the bed but there was no one. It was ice cold like no one had slept there the whole night.

He definitely didn’t hallucinate about last night’s events. Qie Ranzhe did come home and they rolled underneath the sheets so where did he go?

He sat up quickly revealing a messy head of hair and slightly swollen eyes. His pyjamas slipped down revealing his shoulder and neck covered in colourful hickeys.

The room was empty but Qie Ranzhe had definitely been there because all the clothes from last night had been taken away and everything had been straightened out. He scratched his hair while turning his head towards the bedside pedestal.

He found a Darth Vader flask there with a note. His irritable heart instantly melted. He left without saying a word but he still had him in his heart.

Wen Qinxi showed a slight smile he had never shown in a long time as he picked it up. The note read:

’Sorry XiXi. I have to deal with something. I will see you tonight.’

At the bottom was a string of hearts making Wen Qinxi blush. It suddenly felt like he had read a love letter from his crush.

He flicked the top of the flask open and a rich, warm, and comforting aroma wafted out along with the steam. Wen Qinxi felt his heart relax as he took a seep. When he finally came downstairs after an hour he found that the TV was on and the sounds of violent gunfire.

He knew who it was without even thinking. Wen Danzhe was sitting on the couch playing a game. He looked so comfortable with an emptied bowl of cereal on the coffee table. When he heard footsteps behind him he turned around only to find his older brother walking in with fluffy koala slippers covering his feet. They did look warm and cosy.

"Those are new. Have you been drunk shopping again?" he asked pulling down his headphones.

"No, Lin Lin bought them for me. He thought they were cute," he replied while heading to the kitchen.

"Oh," replied Wen Danzhe feeling guilty having asked. He got up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen only to find his brother closing the fridge door with a bento filled with spicy wings in his hand.

Wen Danzhe saw the hickeys on Wen Qinxi’s neck and cleared his throat seeming a little relieved that at least these two weren’t turning on each other. When couples lose a child missing or otherwise they might start to place the blame and guilt on each other and may start to feel anger or resentment.

These two barely talked after Qie Xieling went missing. When they did talk his brother would be irritable refusing to listen and Qie Ranzhe often times would feel defeated. He didn’t want Wen Qinxi to die from overwork and everybody was worried about him. When he didn’t listen to Wen Danzhe, his mother and his mother-in-law they would send in Qie Ranzhe and even he would have a hard time talking to him.

Wen Danzhe was now afraid that his brother might divorce Qie Ranzhe but it seemed he was worried about nothing. They seemed to be getting along again.

"You seem to have had a lot of fun last night," said Wen Danzhe reaching for the chicken wings he was eating but his hand was smacked mercilessly as Wen Qinxi said,

"Hands off. This is for me."

Wen Danzhe wouldn’t be Wen Danzhe if he listen to him. He tried again but Wen Qinxi grabbed the bento so tight refusing to let go.

"You should learn to share," he said but Wen Qinxi snapped back,

"Why is it always my things that we need to share? You never share your things," yelled Wen Qinxi the two of them behaving like they were teenagers again.

"I am going to call Mum. You are starving me," said Wen Danzhe only for Wen Qinxi to pinch him.

"Argh shit! Were you a crab in your past life," he complained while rubbing his abdomen that had been pinched. Seeing that Wen Qinxi didn’t answer he looked up and found that he was busy on his cell phone with a serious expression. His heart dropped as he asked, "What’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing. Just don’t make a mess while I am working," he said before walking away.

Just as Wen Danzhe shrugged his shoulders and was about to take a bite of the chicken wing, Wen Qinxi came back and grabbed the bento before walking away again.

Wen Danzhe, "..."

"So stingy," he complained but Wen Qinxi didn’t hear it.

He was already in his home office his fingers trembling. Jolie had finally sent him an encrypted message after a long silence. He had to decrypt it asap thus he rushed to his office.

It didn’t take long before he was reading the message Jolie sent. Qie Xieling was fine and the only way Jolie could even send a message was through a loophole when a new world was initiated in the game. He already knew that this sick bastard had put Qie Xieling through a game but he just didn’t know the severity of the situation.

Reading what Jolie sent made him even more pissed. The location was still a mystery but Jolie had given him an opening. He just had to work with it. He immediately responded but after sending it there was no response. His nerves were stretched taut and he was rubbing his thumb and index finger together at breaking point.

It had only been a couple of seconds but he was extremely nervous. It felt like it was hours instead of seconds. With a soft ding, Jolie replied.

Wen Qinxi opened the message immediately and read it. Jolie had mentioned something about Leong Jinn involving international investors and that he was trying to sell this game to them. This was also very important. This little weasel was going down and he would make sure he would never see the light of day.
