Chapter 196: Make that Pretty Mouth Of Your Useful

Sebastian shook his head slowly. The same gesture Lucian had made. Reaching for a word that wasn’t there. "We don’t know. That’s the....we don’t know. We’ve never smelled anything like it."

"Our wolves know it," Lucian said. He wasn’t smiling now. His golden eyes were serious in a way that sat strangely on his face. "They recognise it somehow. Even though...."

He stopped.

"Even though what," she said.

The look between the brothers again.

"Even though they shouldn’t," Nicholas said quietly. "You’re wolfless. You shouldn’t have a scent that affects us at all. Let alone....." He stopped himself. Put his fork down. "It’s nothing to worry about."

"It doesn’t sound like nothing."

"It’s not nothing," Sebastian said at exactly the same moment.

Nicholas looked at him.

"She deserves to know," Sebastian said.

"Your scent is changing," Nicholas said finally. "It started three days ago. It’s....our wolves respond to it in a way we don’t fully understand. It calms them in a different way unlike before." He said the last two words like he was still deciding what they meant. "That shouldn’t be possible."

The table was very quiet.

Lilith looked at her coffee. At her hands. At the three brothers watching her with expressions ranging from Sebastian’s careful honesty to Lucian’s unusual seriousness to Nicholas’s controlled stillness.

"I don’t know what that means," she said.

"Neither do we," Nicholas said. "At least not yet."

That last word sat in the room like a promise.

Or a warning.

She picked up her coffee and drank it and didn’t say anything else.

That night she stood at her bathroom mirror and looked at herself for a long time.

She looked the same. Same face, same eyes, same dark hair. No visible difference. Nothing she could point to and say....there. That’s what changed.

She left the bathroom and then crashed on her bed.

*The Next Day*

The warmth under her skin wouldn’t go away.

It had been there all evening....this restless, crawling heat that had nothing to do with the temperature of the room. She’d pushed the blankets off. Pulled them back. Pushed them off again. Stared at the ceiling until the ceiling stopped being interesting, which had taken about thirty seconds.

She was still staring at it when the connecting door opened.

She sat up.

Sebastian came through first. Then Lucian. Then Nicholas, who closed the door behind him and stood there looking at her in the dark like he had all the time in the world.

She was in her sleep shirt. Nothing else. The fire had burned low and the moonlight was coming through the curtains and it was enough light to see all three of them....the way they were looking at her, that particular way they seam to be looking at her like they could see through her soul, and the warmth under her skin flared so hard and fast her breath caught.

Lucian tilted his head. "You look warm."

"I’m fine."

His golden eyes moved over her face, but he didn’t push it.

Nicholas crossed the room. He pulled the armchair from the corner, set it in the middle of the room, and sat down. Reached up and pulled his shirt over his head and dropped it on the floor.

And stopped there.

Shirt off. Belt still on. Trousers fully intact, the buckle catching the firelight. He sat back and looked at her with those silver eyes and said nothing.

Just looked.

Her mouth went dry.

"Come here," he said. Quiet. Certain. "Make that pretty mouth useful."

She got off the bed.

Her body was already moving before her mind finished processing the words.....crossing the room toward him, pulled by something that had nothing rational behind it and everything else. She reached his chair.

And dropped to her knees.

She heard Lucian’s sharp inhale. Heard Sebastian go completely silent.

She looked up at Nicholas from the floor.

His jaw was tight. His silver eyes were blazing.....that brightness that meant his wolf was right at the surface.....but his body was completely still. Holding it. Both hands gripping the chair arms.

She reached up and unbuckled his belt.

Slowly. One eyelet at a time.

She unzipped his trousers and freed him and his dick swung forward and hit her across the face...thick and hot and already hard...and something moved through her that wasn’t embarrassment at all.

She smiled.

Looked up at him with the heat burning through her blood and smiled like she’d been given exactly what she wanted.

"Fuck," Sebastian said from across the room. Low and involuntary, like the word had simply fallen out of him.

She wrapped her hand around the base of Nicholas’s dick and took him into her mouth.

He made a sound.

Not his usual controlled exhale. Something rougher, lower. Dragged out of him against his intentions.

She worked him slowly at first....lips and tongue, learning the weight of him, the shape. Feeling his thighs tense under her hands every time she did something right. Then she took him deeper. Past comfort. Until he hit the back of her throat and her eyes watered and she held it there anyway, swallowing around him, and his whole body went rigid.

"Goddess....."

The word came out fractured.

She pulled back and went down again. Harder. Setting a pace that was pure hunger....her body demanding something she didn’t have words for yet, using the only language available.

Nicholas’s hand moved to her hair. Not forcing. Just landing there. Like he needed something to hold.

He started to rise from the chair.

She put both hands flat on his thighs and pushed him back down.

His eyes went wide. Just for a second. Nicholas Blackwood genuinely surprised.....she felt a dark satisfaction move through her at the sight of it, sharp and real.

She took him back into her mouth and sucked hard enough that his whole body shuddered, his hand in her hair tightened, and he stopped trying to stand entirely.
