‘Do I have to fight to my death?’
With so many magic beasts in this place, Nalan actually doubted his decision to enter the passage.
Could he possibly survive in such a dangerous world?
When Navi died, Nalan could only think of following her order to him. Even if their relationship had gotten better and so on, the rule of the order of the main family had to be implemented had long been ingrained in his bones.
It might be strange for others.
But for Nalan, it was basically a normal thing for him to listen to Navi’s order and did whatever she told him to do.
He was even happy to do it.
That’s why Nalan didn’t think that there was anything wrong in the beginning when he finally made the decision to enter the passage.
But it was only after arriving at the other end did Nalan belatedly realize that there was indeed something odd.
‘Is this another scheme from whatever thing or creature that made the plan in the beginning for the Green Planet’s change?’ Nalan’s face was not very good when he thought about it.
He did think for a moment to stay.
But if he did, then he would be wasting the chance that Navi had finally given to him, so Nalan could only step forward toward the passage despite not knowing what the future would hold to him.
Now that he’s here…
Is he going to die?
Nalan’s eyes clearly reflected the large number of magic beasts rushing into his direction. He couldn’t even name some of them, having only seen them for the first time. Giraffe head with tiger body, wolf head with monkey body, and various strange structured magic beasts appeared in front of his eyes.
And since they were not the weaklings in the beginning of the stage, each and every single one of them were using the element they were familiar with.
Earth, fire, water, wind, wood, and so on.
Countless elements were rushing in his direction and Nalan didn’t move temporarily, just taking everything into his eyes.
The passage is basically the route connecting the Green Planet with the other world.
Nalan could faintly sense that the passage behind him was disintegrating slowly but surely, indicating that even his own way out has been cut off by someone or something. This meant that even if he wanted to, he wouldn’t be able to go back and return to the Green Planet.
He had to stay in this world for the rest of his life.
Or well…
If he survived long enough, perhaps he would be able to figure out a way back home on his own.
But Nalan was not entirely sure.
He didn’t even know whether he would like to go back or not because there was nothing that he particularly missed there.
Navi had passed away.
And before her death, her last message to him was to let him live.
Tsk.
Clicking his tongue in irritation, Nalan looked at these magic beasts around him and felt that they were more unpleasant to the eyes, more than he ever felt before.
Mana gathered in his hand alongside the aura.
“Shield of protection.”
Bang!
A well made transparent shield appeared in front of Nalan right before these magic beasts’ attack could reach him. Years of fighting against countless magic beasts had allowed Nalan to react quickly as if doing it on instinct.
There was no need for him tot think.
He just needed to put up a shield and there would be someone else who would deal with the magic beasts on his own.
Someone else…
Nalan was silent.
It was at this moment he realized that it would be absolutely impossible for him to travel on his own.
While the shield and various protection he could make was indeed useful, but he was ultimately a supporter. His attack power was not that strong and while it was not impossible to attack these magic beasts, it would wear him out quickly.
Just looking at the large number of magic beasts, Nalan felt that it would be absolutely impossible for him to get out of this place alive.
And getting out where?
Nalan had no idea either.
This is a strange and odd world, a new world that he had never seen before.
All Nalan knew was that he had to figure out a way to survive and deal with these magic beasts.
‘I should have learned more attack methods.’
His hand reached onto the sword on his side. This was the sword that Nalan and Navi prepared in case Nalan had to make an attack himself. After all, Navi couldn’t guarantee that she would always be by his side.
In the past, Nalan didn’t think of such possibility.
Or rather, he didn’t want to think about this possibility and always denied that it could happen.
So when it did…
He was really caught off guard.
Boom!
Before Nalan could take the sword out, these magic beasts seemed to be hit by something as they flew away…
No, they were thrown away.
Many of them were thrown as corpses without any intact parts. Limbs, organs, bones, and flesh were all scattered all over the ground. The blood stained the ground, dyeing it red with blood.
In just a short moment, all the magic beasts surrounding him had disappeared.
Nalan raised his head.
He saw three people were standing not far from him, glancing in his direction but didn’t come any closer. The shield was still on place and they wouldn’t be able to hurt him if he didn’t allow them to.
Nalan didn’t know any of them.
But he could guess their identities.
After all, the only human beings who could be here should be the other returnees from the Green Planet who entered the passage.
He had sensed their mana disappearing before and there were only two possibilities.
Either they were dead or they entered the passage to the other world.
