Chapter 118: Kennedy
Hearing Wesley’s words, the dozen or so bodyguards stopped their wailing and all wore thoughtful expressions.
"Not let us off easily?"
"What does this guy want to do?"
Originally, they all felt they couldn’t escape this ordeal today and would likely never leave this factory alive.
But listening to his tone, it seemed he didn’t intend to kill them, so there was still a glimmer of hope.
"Everyone, take out all your valuables, then leave behind one hand, and I will let you leave."
Wesley’s voice turned cold, giving off an attitude that brooked no refusal.
"Hiss!" The bodyguards gasped.
No one spoke; they were now fish on the chopping block, and he was the knife, leaving them to be slaughtered.
If they wanted to live, there was no room for negotiation; they had to comply.
This was a remote, abandoned factory; even if they died here, no one would know, and it would be impossible to find out who did it.
"I’ll only give you five seconds to consider. After five seconds, whether you live or die is entirely up to you."
Wesley felt not a shred of sympathy for these bodyguards; following young masters like Clark, they surely hadn’t done fewer shady things in their daily lives.
If it hadn’t been him, Wesley, today, and it had been someone else, they certainly would have been beaten to death by Clark’s group.
"I agree!" A bodyguard with the strength of a Three-Tier Beast Tamer slowly sat up from the ground and began to take out all his net worth from his Beast Taming Space.
"Very good!" Wesley took out a knife and threw it in front of the man.
With the first person leading the way, the complexions of the other bodyguards were like deflated balls, and they had no choice but to obediently do as Wesley said.
"Ah!" Then, screams rang out from the abandoned factory, making one’s hair stand on end.
"So terrifying, this person is far too ruthless!" Watching their bodyguards personally chop off one of their own hands one by one.
This scene, falling into the eyes of Clark and the other four, made them tremble with fear, their faces showing terror.
"Next, is it their turn?" Cutting off their own hand? They couldn’t do that!
William and Warry remained silent, standing to the side; they didn’t feel there was anything wrong with what Wesley was doing.
On the contrary, they felt he was doing the right thing; their young master had grown up and was no longer a flower protected in a greenhouse.
The valuable items on these bodyguards were just some medicinal pills and spirit herbs used for cultivation.
Although the grades weren’t high, for Wesley, they were enough.
Moreover, the cultivation resources of a dozen or so people added up to a not-insignificant windfall.
"What are you doing?"
Seeing Wesley walking towards him, Clark crawled backward on the ground in terror.
"You can’t kill me. I’m from the Danver Family. If I die, people from the Danver Family will definitely investigate."
"Let me go. I won’t speak about today’s events; we’ll just act as if it never happened."
"Haha, Young Master Danver, do you think I believe that?" Wesley squatted in front of Clark and chuckled.
"And you ’Four Cats’ or whatever, how should I deal with you? Should I kill you on the spot, or dig a pit and bury you alive?"
When the other four heard this, what backbone did they have left? They all kowtowed to Wesley, begging for mercy.
"Big Brother, please spare us. We were also deceived; it was all Clark who called us here."
"You!" Clark looked at his former fair-weather friends, who had sold him out without hesitation, and was furious.
"Clark, what ’you’? Isn’t it all because of you? Otherwise, would we have ended up in this situation today?"
"Exactly, Clark, you really have no eyes; you dare to offend anyone!"
While the four cursed at Clark, they also took out all the valuable items on their persons.
"Big Brother, these are all for you; consider it our tribute to you!"
"Yo, you four are quite sensible!"
Wesley looked at the four, their faces bruised and swollen, plus the deliberately ingratiating expressions on their faces.
The speed at which they changed faces was truly faster than turning a page!
"Since you are so sensible, I will also give each of you a chance to live."
"Big Brother, just say it. As long as you let us go, we will do anything you ask."
The four nodded and agreed immediately; now, as long as they could live, they would do anything.
"How about this: you said you were deceived, so you should hate that person, right?"
Wesley had another knife in his hand and continued with a smile:
"Take this knife, and if the four of you each stab him once, I will let you leave."
The blade pointed at Clark; when Wesley said this, the expressions of the four kneeling men changed.
’Ah, this!’
Forcing them to slash Clark would mean completely breaking ties with him. Even if they could leave alive today, they would definitely be retaliated against by the Danver Family later.
Especially since the four of them knew better than anyone what kind of person Clark was: vindictive and a petty man.
Wesley seemed to have given them a way to live, but he had also forced them into a dead end!
The four didn’t speak for a long time, their expressions full of hesitation.
"Let’s see who dares! Whoever dares to lay a hand on me today, the Danver Family will definitely not let you off."
Clark pointed at the four and roared; selling him out was one thing, but they wanted to stab him too.
One slash per person meant four slashes; just thinking about it, it would hurt like hell!
"Noisy! Do you really think I don’t dare to kill you? You keep mentioning the Danver Family, do the people of the Danver Family really have such a sense of superiority?"
Wesley stared coldly at Clark. If it weren’t for the fact that the Paul Family was still an enemy, he, Wesley, would have killed Clark with a single slash long ago.
Meeting Wesley’s cold gaze, Clark shuddered.
"This gaze is so terrifying; he really will kill me."
Seeing that Clark was frightened, Wesley turned his head to look at the "Four Cats" in front of him.
"See that? You’ve already been marked by him; even if I let you go now, he’ll come back to settle the score later."
The four looked at Wesley, then at the resentful Clark; the struggle on their faces became even more obvious.
"You are afraid of the Danver Family, right? The Danver Family cannot cover the sky with one hand in Aquilopolis City. And although your four families are third-rate families, they aren’t things the Danver Family can touch at will."
Wesley continued to sweet-talk the four; he could already feel they were tempted, and just needed that final push to dispel the misgivings in their hearts.
"Make your choice: slash him once to survive, or die here in this factory with him."
Wesley threw the knife in his hand in front of the four.
"I’ll do it. Clark has already brought us to this point; slashing him once isn’t excessive."
What Wesley didn’t expect was that the first person to speak up about slashing Clark would be the short ugly young master.
"Very good, what is your name?" Wesley clapped his hands, "Among you Brown Five Tigers, I find you the most pleasing."
"Big Brother, my name is Kennedy!"
"Ugly Head?"
Hearing this person’s name, Wesley burst into laughter.
"No way, you really are Kennedy!"
"Big Brother, I really am Kennedy!"
"What’s wrong?"
Hearing Wesley’s laughter, Kennedy was left bewildered, his face bruised and swollen, unable to understand what was so funny.
It was just a name, wasn’t it? Was it really that funny? Then he suddenly realized his name’s meaning.
"Haha, nothing, nothing!" Wesley stifled his laughter, "Go and land one strike, then you can leave!"
Kennedy knew full well that Wesley was mocking him. If this were any other time, and someone dared to mock his name and appearance, he would have risked his life to fight them long ago.
But now that his life was in someone else’s hands, what was there to fight for? Being able to leave alive would be a blessing.
"Kennedy, what are you doing?"
"Don’t come over here, stay away from me!"
Seeing Kennedy approaching him step by step with a blade in hand, Clark immediately started shouting.
"Clark, don’t blame me, I just want to live!" Kennedy stood in front of Clark and raised his blade.
"No, no, ah!" Clark let out a miserable scream.
Kennedy brought his blade down onto Clark’s left thigh.
Blood splattered instantly, shocking everyone present.
"Young Master!" Clark’s two bodyguards cried out, but their strength had been sealed, rendering them useless like cripples; they could only watch helplessly.
"Ah! Sss! Kennedy, I will kill you, your family is finished too!"
Clark’s face turned pale with pain as he clutched his injured thigh.
With a ’clang’, the blade in Kennedy’s hand dropped to the ground.
"Kennedy, you may leave now!" A satisfied expression appeared on Wesley’s face.
It took a few seconds for Kennedy to recover. Without saying a word, he led his bodyguards, supporting each other, and walked out of the factory.
"What about you three?"
Wesley looked at the remaining three people.
The three swallowed hard. Seeing that Kennedy had indeed been released by Wesley, they nodded at him.
