Chapter 798: Chapter 783: Hit Someone (Part 1)

Wang Zhongyu’s passionate kiss left Wenquan Xin a bit bewildered and at a loss, but once he snapped back to reality, he hurriedly wiped away the saliva left on his face, cursing, "You glass, is this disgusting or what? Damn!"

The joking aside, the car was able to start again, which made Wenquan Xin quite excited. He hadn’t expected his helpless act would actually work.

A miracle amidst despair, rebirth in adversity — no words could describe Wang Zhongyu’s feelings at this moment of revival.

The car restarting not only brought hope to him and Wenquan Xin but also strengthened his resolve to drive out of the sea of corpses.

"Wenquan Xin, hold tight and firm, our new breakthrough is about to begin." Wang Zhongyu shifted into reverse, and the car started rolling backward.

"Bro, can you drive steady this time? Stop with this bullshit." Wenquan Xin, preparing for the impact, reminded Wang Zhongyu to drive carefully.

There’s only one life, and Wang Zhongyu didn’t want to risk it driving this recklessly, but given the situation, he had no other choice. If he could avoid it, he wouldn’t willingly keep crashing this way: "Say less, and focus on your lighting work; maybe we’ll face fewer accidents."

Trying to break through from the original route was clearly impractical. In just a few minutes of Wang and Wen’s argument about starting the vehicle, a large mob of Zombies came pouring in from nearby streets.

Facing such an overwhelming Undead Legion, Wang Zhongyu didn’t believe his small wrecked car could make it through.

Fortunately, he was prepared for this; his multiple escape experiences taught him one thing: never put all your eggs in one basket, especially when dealing with a species reliant on numbers like Zombies. Leaving oneself a way out before acting might save one’s life at a critical moment.

Indeed, Wang Zhongyu’s earlier decision proved to be wise.

He quickly backed out of the alley with the car, and luckily, despite the Zombie obstruction at the front, the rear was still spacious — thanks to Zombies’ mindless nature, they tend to follow their companions’ direction, offering a glimmer of hope for their escape.

Whipping the car around, Wang Zhongyu expertly completed the turn. Having done that, he breathed a sigh of relief; at this moment, no matter how fast Zombies were, they couldn’t catch up with the moving speed of the truck.

"Xiao Wen, look for the map I drew." Even though Wang Zhongyu prepared other escape routes, the only one he memorized was the blocked road from before. Now, if he wanted to change course, he’d rely entirely on his previously sketched map.

"What? Map? Where did you put it yourself!"

"If I knew, I wouldn’t need you to find it. I guess it fell in the car during the crash. Quickly look for it, without it, I wouldn’t know where to break through."

"Sheesh, you’re quite the hero, huh! Making me do all these troublesome tasks!" Wenquan Xin buried his head, rummaging through the car. This was crucial; this piece of paper concerned their lives, and he dared not delay.

"Are you done yet?" Wang Zhongyu incessantly urged. Without the hand-drawn map, he was like a headless fly, only able to roam around town aimlessly.

"Rush, rush, rush! What are you hurrying for? Do you think finding something in this car is so easy?" Wenquan Xin’s broad body indeed seemed cramped maneuvering inside this small car.

Despite that, he completed Wang Zhongyu’s task well: "Here, for you. Damn it, quickly find a way out, don’t let this effort go to waste."

"Alright! Just give it here!" Squeezing past the hand-drawn map, Wang Zhongyu immediately frowned and scrutinized it. He first located his previous path on the map from memory, and then found a suitable second escape route to take action.

After weighing his options several times, he roughly formulated a specific action plan.

Organic Zombies were still his key driving rule moving forward. But after facing so much misfortune, finally, Fortune acknowledged these two unlucky guys.

Due to the previous collision, a large group of Zombies was moving toward the collision point, significantly reducing the number on surrounding streets.

When Wang Zhongyu drove to the second escape point he chose, he couldn’t quite believe his eyes.

The road was empty without any movement. Wang Zhongyu reached out and snatched the flashlight from Wenquan Xin’s hand, flicking it forward a few times: "Nima, Wenquan Xin, we hit the jackpot."

"Alright, stop the nonsense, drive out first!" Wenquan Xin wasn’t as optimistic as Wang Zhongyu; the swollen bump on his forehead constantly reminded him that danger could come at any moment.

The gas pedal was once again slammed down; as soon as they broke out of the alley, Wang Zhongyu and the others would be completely out of danger.

Victory was in sight, and Wang Zhongyu was trembling with excitement, feeling his hands shaking on the steering wheel.

"Watch out, someone!" Wenquan Xin cried out, startling Wang Zhongyu so much that he nearly lost control of the wheel. Fortunately, he swiftly engaged the brakes, avoiding crashing into the roadside buildings.

"What the hell are you doing, trying to get us killed? Damn!" It was no wonder Wang Zhongyu was furious, as the situation was critical—had he not decisively braked, things might have...

Once the car stopped steadily, Wenquan Xin experienced a bout of fear, but the reason he called for a halt was because the right-headlight illuminated a silhouette. This person had emerged from a nearby building and was standing in the middle of the road, even waving his arms towards them.

Wenquan Xin thought he heard a couple of "stop!" commands, if he wasn’t mistaken.

"There’s someone, there’s someone ahead!"

"Someone? What kind of someone? All here are damn living dead." Wang Zhongyu cursed, lifting his flashlight to prove himself right as he shone it ahead of the car: "How about now? Do you believe it, all are... Hey, where are you going? Looking for death?"

Wenquan Xin ignored Wang Zhongyu’s angry yell, opened the car door, and went down.

"Damn it! This guy is insane, absolutely insane!" Wang Zhongyu punched the car, Wenquan Xin’s previous exclamation had irritated him, and now his disregard for advice, getting out of the car, infuriated him even more.

He really wanted to leave him and go, but the brotherly bond forged through life and death made it impossible for him to make such a cruel decision.

"Getting stuck with you, this reckless brother, I don’t know if I owe you from a past life or what, messing with me like this, damn it!" Angry as he was, when it came to leaving Wenquan Xin behind, Wang Zhongyu couldn’t bring himself to do it. Seeing the other go down unarmed, he worried something might happen, grabbed a knife, opened the car door, and followed him down.

"Oh, it’s a living person, damn it, you’re going to run them over." Wenquan Xin pointed at the person lying on the ground, shaking his head: "Told you to stop, you didn’t, now look what happened, killed someone." (To be continued.
