Kong Jingshan’s tone was heavy, as if laying down arrangements for the end.
Kong Lingwen’s heart instantly tightened. She hurriedly said, "Dad! What are you talking about! Even if the Kong Family can’t hold on, I’ll leave with you and Grandpa."

Kong Jingshan laughed, feeling this girl had quite an imagination.

Kong Lingwen laughed along. Such warm moments between father and daughter were rare; after a few more casual chats, they hung up the phone contentedly.
"Is five days enough?"
Yang Cheng asked.
"No problem, I can’t believe they’d manage to turn the sky upside down in just a few days."
Kong Lingwen clenched her fist, already calculating how to handle those people upon her return.
A moment later, the two of them arrived in Luochuan City and headed straight to the restaurant they had visited a few times.
After eating and drinking to their fill, Yang Cheng was about to take her shopping at the supermarket when she grabbed his arm.
"What’s wrong?"
Yang Cheng looked at her, puzzled.
Kong Lingwen raised her hand, pointing to the nearby hotel with a coy smile: "I want to take a bath at the hotel and rest for a while."
"It’s late now, there’s no time."
Yang Cheng immediately declined. He clearly understood what she meant, as last night’s commotion hadn’t satisfied her appetite; now, she wanted to hit the hotel again.

She had been cooped up in the village for days, really wanting to go out for a stroll, yet Yang Cheng drove Yun Chan out at night.

Yang Cheng hurriedly explained, placing his hands on Kong Lingwen’s shoulders to make her face him.
"The reason I took Yun Chan out at night is because there’s a rule in Hidden Cloud Village that the village head can’t leave. She’s never been outside since she was little, so I took her to stay at a hotel, see Luochuan’s sights, and taste city food."
"Then why didn’t you take me?"
Kong Lingwen pouted, but she was evidently softening.

Yang Cheng spoke with a sincere look.

Yang Cheng checked the time and then smiled helplessly, "Okay, you have an hour, get out quick after the soak. I’ll go buy things now; we’ll meet at the hotel entrance later."
"You’re the best!"
Kong Lingwen pecked his lips and then ran into the hotel with her bag.
Time was indeed tight, considering they left only around noon. If they didn’t head back soon, they’d miss the auspicious time for the enlightenment ceremony in the evening.
After the bride is ready for enlightenment, if it can’t proceed, it’s considered unlucky in the village. He didn’t want his actions to affect that girl’s life.
Yang Cheng entered the supermarket and started a sweep, buying many snacks and meat, having the supermarket staff help load them into the car.
He glanced at the time, his brow slightly furrowing, before heading straight into the hotel and asking, "Could you check which room Kong Lingwen is in? I have something urgent."
"Sorry sir, we can’t disclose guest information. You might want to give her a call."
The receptionist, wearing a professional smile, directly declined his request.
