Chapter 395: Right
<Enough! Why won’t you die?!>
"More like, why can’t you kill me? Weren’t you so powerful that you didn’t even need to act? You just needed to watch, and things would unfold as you wished, or wasn’t that what you meant?"
<Fine. That bald beetle was right. The play might end, but the ruins of the stage would still linger until someone possibly rebuilt it. That’s why I planned on settling this myself and setting things straight after I had my fun. But you keep going against me!>
As the Observer shouted, power welled out of its silhouette and broke the space around it.
The ocean had already evaporated and disintegrated into dust or risen into the sky as steam before transforming into clouds that scattered due to the atmospheric pressure of the location around Ackster.
But the ocean floor far beneath the Observer cracked.
The cracks grew at a rapid pace as they stretched and dove, expanding in all directions.
<But what do I care if this corner of the universe ceases to exist? I will destroy this world if I have to, as long as I can kill you with my own two hands.>
Ackster finally got the answer to why the Observer hadn’t unleashed his full strength and killed him at once. If he did that, he would bring about the same fate the Hermit wanted to avoid by bringing the Sword God out of the fight.
’In that case, can’t the Sword God come and kill this fucker now? If the world is going to end permanently, it would be best if this fucker died, at least.’
Ackster glared at the Observer as the cosmic being unleashed a power that shouldn’t exist in the world.
The Observer saw Ackster getting ready to fight.
<Fool. Even now, when you are going to die either way, you would rather fight and bring the entire world with you. It’s still not too late. If you submit to me, your creator, I can let this world end naturally. Otherwise, I will destroy it.>
Ackster smiled.
"There’s no need to worry about that."
Blue light spread out with Ackster as the center.
Like the birth of a world, the blue light ballooned and swallowed Ackster and the Observer. The blue light gradually took the shape of a clear blue sky and azure water. Right behind Ackster was a beach of white sand with a few coconut trees and a straw hut.
Ackster had created a paradise.
The Observer stiffened and looked around.
<What kind of trick is this?>
"A buddy of mine called it a Perfect World. I’m not sure about the details myself. But, thanks to you, I know who I am, and I know what my Perfect World would be."
Ackster gripped his sword as his gaze toward the Observer sharpened.
"I also know how far I would go to defend it."
Orange and blue flames rose around the patch of paradise.
The Observer hovered in the air above the azure water as the flames raged and increased the temperature. But the water and the beach were untouched by the heat. The only thing that felt the heat in Ackster’s Perfect World was the intruder—the obstruction to him reaching his Perfect World in reality.
However, the Observer’s confidence in itself wasn’t unfounded. Its unrestricted strength alone was enough to destroy Millmeria.
Ackster was on the same level as Millmeria in his current state since his Diamond Body had ranked up to something he could sense was something that he could only call World Body. His Ichor had also refined world power.
Ackster also had a skill that went beyond the limits of the world. Clear Mind had reached the divine rank.
Ackster had taken the first step to becoming a god.
Still, the Observer wasn’t just a god like the gods of Millmeria’s Celestial Realm. He was a god from the universe.
And Ackster was only around the same level as Millmeria.
After gathering his bearings and deciding that the nonsense about the Perfect World was just that—nonsense, the Observer turned to Ackster again and released his full strength as he took a step.
The water beneath his foot-like limb bubbled and exploded. The Observer raised an arm. The movement alone caused the flames around the Perfect World to sway like a storm had encroached upon them.
And when the Observer gathered his cosmic power in what would be his hand, the entire Perfect World trembled.
Ackster’s face was grim. He didn’t need the Observer to do anything to realize he was outmatched.
Even the realization of his Perfect World, where he was multiple times stronger than outside, wasn’t enough. The weakening effect it had on the Observer was negligible. However, there was one thing it was good for.
With his Perfect World’s help, Ackster could pinpoint and identify the Observer with more details and accuracy than before. He couldn’t pry any information from the Observer. But that only made it easier to imagine both the Observer and its attacks as water.
<Urgh.>
The Observer expressed his disgust as Ackster imprinted his will and image of reality on him. But in this Perfect World, there was nothing the Observer could do.
It fired off a beam of sparkling purple light akin to a concentration of the starry sky of the depths of space.
It flashed through the Perfect World at a speed that couldn’t even be called speed. One moment, it was gathering in the Observer’s hand. The same moment, it was where Ackster was.
If it weren’t for his Perfect World and understanding of space, which let him teleport aside just as quickly, Ackster would have died. He would have turned to nothingness. Still, he grinned as the beam vanished into the flames of his Perfect World’s boundary—into the flames of Smelting Furnace.
The Perfect World was Ackster’s ideal world. But it was manifested from his mind, abilities, and strengths.
The performance was a little poorer than devouring it directly. But with the help of his Perfect World, Ackster could continue devouring the Observer’s cosmic power.
Ackster had already started doing it when the Observer first blasted through his head. But the more cosmic power he devoured and burned, the greater the odds of success, especially with the bottomless fires of Millmeria’s Core raging in his Perfect World.
<You think tricks like these will be enough to stand up against me?!>
The Observer’s shout froze Ackster to the spot.
