Chapter 757: Chapter 646: General Envoy, the Trial
As soon as the words were spoken, a figure suddenly emerged from the darkness behind the man.
The burly figure carried a heavy sense of oppression, and upon appearing, immediately fell to the ground and shouted.
"Greetings, General Envoy!"
The General Envoy, being the highest authority among the Celestial Demon Envoys, is the one who oversees the Celestial Demon Envoys and is closest to the Heavenly Demon.
Whether it be the traitors of the Forbidden Area or the Celestial Demon Envoys of the Forbidden Area, none dare to be presumptuous in the presence of the General Envoy.
The General Envoy glanced back at the man and said, "According to the informants I have in Xuanjing City, Qin An has reached a secret agreement with Emperor Xuanwu and is venturing alone to the nearest Silver Moon Forbidden Land. You must immediately dispatch the known demon pseudo-gods to guard outside the Silver Moon Forbidden Land and eliminate Qin An."
The burly man raised his head, respectfully saying, "I obey."
The General Envoy is the Heavenly Demon’s agent in the mortal world, and no matter the command, these traitors must execute it with full effort, without the slightest negligence.
The General Envoy pondered slightly and said, "The Defenders have opened a passage, and I have already sensed their traces; all are heading towards the Silver Moon Forbidden Land. Be extremely cautious, and let those demon pseudo-gods exert their utmost. If Qin An is slain, Lord Celestial Demon will richly reward you."
The burly man hurriedly bowed his head, saying, "I obey."
The General Envoy impatiently waved his hand.
The burly man immediately received his orders, flashed between moments, and vanished into the night.
After the burly man disappeared, the General Envoy then gazed at the dark ocean, a hint of gloom flashing in his eyes, as his fists tightened slightly.
"If this mission fails, then we must temporarily forsake the attempt to kill Qin An and let this realm descend into chaos first."
"The pawns I left behind may finally be put to use; they must be growing weary by now."
"Release them and let the Daqian Kingdom experience another realm-wide conflict."
As the words faded, the figure of the General Envoy gradually dissipated and vanished into the darkness.
...
Silver Moon Forbidden Land, situated a hundred miles outside the eastern side of the Daqian Kingdom.
This distance seems long, but it is exceedingly short for a cultivator.
At the entrance of the Silver Moon Forbidden Land, a figure suddenly appeared, raising his head to appraise the scenery ahead.
"This entrance is the most normal entrance I have ever seen, yet this normal entrance truly aligns with the characteristics of a Forbidden Area."
Qin An looked up and saw a cave appearing at the mountainside.
The cave was pitch-black, where even outstretched hands were invisible.
Without hesitation, Qin An stepped forward into the cave.
After entering the cave, the darkness quickly surged forward, but Qin An soon adapted to it.
He continued along the path through the cave, and before long, he reached the end of the passage.
A ray of light appeared at the end, rapidly surrounding Qin An.
In just a moment, Qin An felt a wave of warmth enveloping his entire body.
Once the warmth faded, the scenery before him changed.
He was no longer in a dark passage but had arrived at a vast grassland.
There was no blazing sun here, only a crescent silver moon.
The silver moon shone down, illuminating the grassland with a silver glow.
At the end of the grassland, a figure stood proudly, seeming to be waiting for Qin An.
Qin An shifted his gaze and upon clearly seeing the newcomer, asked, "How should I address you?"
The newcomer was dressed in a silver robe, emanating powerful auras that surged like a tsunami.
Yet this person restrained his aura well, seemingly unwilling to wantonly expose it before Qin An.
"My name is Zhong Mucheng, the leader of the Silver Moon Forbidden Land. Greetings, Savior."
Zhong Mucheng bowed slightly, displaying his courteous demeanor.
Qin An narrowed his eyes slightly, asking, "Where are the leaders of the other Forbidden Areas?"
Zhong Mucheng gestured with a lift of his hand, indicating the forest behind him: "Deep within the Forbidden Area, please follow me, Savior."
Qin An nodded slightly: "Lead the way."
Having come here to resolve the matter of the Forbidden Area quickly, Qin An didn’t wish to waste time.
Zhong Mucheng stepped aside, walking alongside Qin An.
Qin An remained silent, his eyes fixed ahead, saying nothing.
Zhong Mucheng glanced at Qin An for a moment, showing a hint of hesitation.
Though Qin An did not look towards him, he sensed Zhong Mucheng’s gaze and said calmly, "Speak freely if there’s something you wish to say."
Zhong Mucheng’s expression of conflict flashed and faded, sighing, "Mr. Qin, I stand close to you, but your purpose on this journey is well-known; it may prove difficult to succeed. Three of the most formidable Forbidden Areas in Xuanjing City are distrustful of the prophecy."
Qin An paused his step slightly: "I understand. Which three are they?"
Having come here, he was already prepared, full aware that this journey might not be smooth.
If it were straightforward, Emperor Xuanwu wouldn’t have dispatched him.
Yet Qin An hadn’t anticipated that three of the strongest Forbidden Areas would all be cautious of the prophecy.
But since he has already arrived, Qin An didn’t want to leave empty-handed, naturally, he intended to inquire clearly.
Zhong Mucheng pondered for a moment, then said, "They are Yang Suofeng of the Withered Wood Forbidden Land, Xu Rulin of the Bright Forbidden Land, and Jiang Anping of the Red Cloud Forbidden Land."
Qin An reflected thoughtfully: "Since you’ve told me this, do you have a strategy to break the deadlock?"
Zhong Mucheng had previously stated that he stood close to him.
Now divulging this information, isn’t there a resolution in sight?
Zhong Mucheng pondered for a long time, sighing, "Actually, I don’t have a solution, but they said they want to test you to see if you possess the capability to become the Savior. I’m not very clear on what exactly that test entails."
A test?
Qin An rubbed his chin: "That indeed sounds intriguing."
He didn’t ask further, because Zhong Mucheng wasn’t very clear about it, even if he did ask, it would be futile.
Since it’s unclear, he would wait and see once he arrived, what the so-called test would entail.
