Chapter 621: Erius’s Anger (1)
Third Person’s POV
However, Ethan paid almost no attention to the surrounding commotion.
His thoughts were occupied by an entirely different matter.
Just then, a familiar green-hooded figure silently appeared beside him, almost as though she had emerged from the crowd itself.
Without even looking toward him, the figure quietly spoke.
"Come with me, Young Master."
Ethan didn’t appear surprised in the slightest.
Without asking any questions, he calmly followed behind the hooded woman through several quieter streets before entering a narrow alley hidden from the bustling main roads.
A modest-looking carriage was already waiting there.
The two of them climbed inside without exchanging another word.
Only after the carriage door closed behind them did the green-cloaked woman remove her hood.
Long emerald green hair spilled over her shoulders as the familiar face of the wood elf, Elis, came into view.
Ethan merely glanced at her before leaning comfortably against his seat.
He remained completely silent, as he knew that she would start to ask questions soon.
As expected, Elis was the first to speak.
Her emerald eyes rested firmly upon him.
"Why were you with Princess Arlene?"
A faint frown appeared between her brows.
"How did the two of you become acquainted so fast?"
Although her voice remained calm, Ethan could easily hear the curiosity hidden beneath it.
Rather than answering immediately, he simply closed his eyes.
After several moments of silence, he finally spoke in a relaxed tone that gave away nothing.
"Be patient, you will know everything soon enough."
Seeing that he had no intention of explaining anything further, Elis quietly frowned, and several more questions surfaced within her mind.
However, after noticing his closed eyes and composed expression, she wisely chose not to continue pressing him.
The carriage gradually departed from the secluded alley before quietly making its way toward the royal palace.
Meanwhile...
Within one of the grand studies of the FrostStar Palace, Shixea stood silently before a long wooden display case.
An assortment of magical weapons rested neatly inside it.
Her beautiful lake blue eyes slowly moved across each weapon as she inspected them one after another.
An elegant ice-blue magic staff radiating dense frost mana occupied the center of the display.
Beside it rested a massive broadsword whose icy blue blade reflected faint light, while a jagged crystalline thorn protruded from its crossguard like the fang of a frozen beast.
A crimson saber engraved with flowing flame patterns lay nearby, its blade faintly emitting waves of heat despite remaining perfectly still.
Next to it rested a deep sapphire spear decorated with intricate wave-like engravings that seemed almost alive beneath the polished surface.
A magnificent purple scythe occupied one side of the display, and dark violet vines coiled around its long handle, while the curved blade continuously emitted a sinister aura that made the surrounding mana feel strangely oppressive.
Simply looking at it for too long created an uncomfortable sensation, as though something hidden within the weapon was quietly observing the viewer.
Further down rested a slender golden longsword.
Tiny arcs of yellow lightning occasionally danced across its blade before vanishing as quickly as they appeared.
Beside it lay a pair of emerald green daggers whose perfectly balanced forms clearly revealed that they had been forged for assassins or agile wind element warriors.
Each weapon possessed a distinct elemental aura, and each one was undoubtedly extraordinary.
The entire collection rested inside an old looking long wooden weapon case whose lid remained fully open.
Standing respectfully beside it was an elderly man with snow-white hair and deeply wrinkled skin.
His thin body appeared so frail that it seemed a strong gust of wind might knock him over at any moment.
Yet despite his humble appearance, his calm eyes remained extraordinarily steady.
Without interrupting the Queen’s inspection, he simply waited patiently.
After several moments, Shixea finally spoke.
"Master Drogo... are these the finest weapons you possess for Rank Three mages and warriors?"
The old man gave a slow nod.
"Yes, Your Highness."
His aged voice sounded quiet and unhurried.
"This poor old man’s personal collection."
Shixea’s eyes lingered upon the purple scythe before shifting back toward him.
"Your personal collection?"
The old blacksmith smiled faintly.
"I forged every one of these with my own hands."
A trace of genuine admiration appeared within Shixea’s beautiful eyes.
Even someone of her status couldn’t casually ignore the achievements of a master craftsman capable of forging magical weapons of such quality.
Just then—
Bang!
The study doors were abruptly pushed open, and a handsome young man strode inside with obvious irritation written across his face.
Behind him followed the tall black-haired young woman, Aria.
The moment he entered, the young man didn’t even bother greeting anyone.
Instead, he immediately looked toward Shixea and spoke with unconcealed anger.
"Mother!"
"You told me that man was already under your control and would work for our side."
His voice rose noticeably.
"But instead of carrying out your plans, he was happily wandering around the academy with that slut Arlene!"
His angry outburst echoed throughout the spacious study, and hearing his crude language and way of speaking, even Aria’s expression changed slightly.
She hadn’t expected her cousin to lose control so completely the moment he entered the room.
At the same time, she hadn’t seen him like this before, as he always appeared noble and composed in front of her.
The elderly Master Drogo merely shifted his dark eyes toward the furious young man without saying a single word, or having a single change in his expression.
Shixea herself remained frozen for only a brief instant before her beautiful face gradually turned cold.
"Quiet."
She uttered only a single word, yet that one word carried such overwhelming authority that the entire room instantly fell silent.
Erius’ expression changed immediately, and only now did he seem to remember that another person besides his mother occupied the room.
His anger rapidly subsided, and a mix of embarrassment and frustration surged within him, but he forcibly suppressed both those emotions.
Lowering his head slightly, he spoke in a restrained voice.
"I apologize, Mother, for my words..."
"I allowed my emotions to get the better of me."
Almost the moment those words left his mouth, the study doors opened once again.
