Chapter 854: Chapter 854. The Realm Ruler vs Deity Beast

Di Ying recognized the voice. "Uncle?" She uttered.

She was about to run out, but Amon stopped her by grabbing her arm before she exited the concealment bubble. He told her, "Hold! The one we are waiting for has arrived. It’s time for us to act."

"What...? My uncle? The one you have been waiting for is my uncle? How many times do you want to pit them against each other?"

"The first time was not my intention. I was fooled as well," Amon explained.

"I don’t care. I must help my uncle." Di Ying tore her arm away from his grip.

"Not if you want to forsake your mother."

Amon’s last sentence stopped her. Seeing that, he continued, "I won’t save your mother without you by my side. As I said, the problem with saving her is that I’m sure she will lash out once I do. I need you by my side to calm her down. Furthermore, if you go out, you will expose our position. Mo Wang might do something drastic to prevent us from freeing her. If that happens, even if your uncle wishes to join us in rescuing her, we might still fail.

"Our best chance is when your uncle is keeping Mo Wang occupied. We sneak to where your mother is confined without his knowledge. I have created the best chance for us to carry out this rescue. I now leave it in your hands whether you wish to go along with it or throw this opportunity away."

Di Ying gritted his teeth and said, "You truly know how to make someone feel bad about something. Alright. We will go with your plan, but if we fail to save my mother, I will never forgive you!"

"Very well, then you must listen to my command. First, return to my black space ring. It is easier for me to sneak on my own rather than having you tagging along."

Di Ying was reluctant, but she complied. After Di Ying vanished, Amon picked up the concealment prism and rushed out of the cave. Everything outside was ablaze with flames. Thien Huo was not kidding about burning everything to the ground.

Amon activated the Elder God Veil to protect him from the searing flames. He remained low to the ground as he sneaked toward Mo Wang’s castle.

Amon was a bit off with his assessment about why Mo Wang didn’t come out to search for the ones who sent the bugs. It was not because he was afraid the intruders would come if he went out, but because he was busy concocting the Transcendent Poison Blood Union.

He was concocting the potion inside the world of his Big World Ring. While Amon’s black space ring possessed an inner world with the size of a small town, the space inside the Big World Ring was the size of a small province. Throughout the years, Mo Wang had filled the world with multiple plants and animals. It was his paradise away from the bleak lower world.

His alchemy workshop was also in this world. Unlike the black space ring, Mo Wang could physically enter the Big World Ring. His ring created a portal that allowed things to enter and exit, including himself. This made the space much more stable, like Yuka’s prison box. The drawback was that the ring owner didn’t have absolute dominion over the world. Mo Wang only controlled when and where the portal was open.

He received notice about Thien Huo’s attacks from a warning talisman. The talisman was connected to the enchantment in his castle. If it were breached or received an assault, the warning talisman would let him know.

"Who the fuck is it now?" Mo Wang cursed. He hated it when his work was interrupted.

He stepped out of the portal and closed it before flying out of his castle. Before he was even outside, he already knew who was responsible.

He flew toward the large, red-scaled dragon that was flying above and raining flames all over the place.

"You overgrown lizard! Are you that bitter about being wounded that you must chase me all the way here?"

Thien Huo’s angered voice replied soon, "Despicable human! Return my niece to me! Where do you keep her?"

’Niece...?’ Mo Wang thought. He would be less confused if Thien Huo had demanded a sister rather than a niece, since he did hold Di Yu in his basement. The niece, on the other hand, he had no idea about.

"Stop spouting bullshit! I don’t know where your niece is."

"Liar!!!" Thien Huo discharged his flaming breath. The pillar of condensed fire, accompanied by a cone of searing flames, rushed toward Mo Wang.

"Hmph! Do you think I am afraid of you? You want a fight? I will give you a fight!" Mo Wang held a glowing talisman in his hand. An oval-shaped portal appeared before him. Thien Huo’s flame breath entered the portal without reaching him.

He threw the glowing talisman in his hand in Thien Huo’s direction. The talisman exploded, and another portal appeared. The fire beam that entered the first portal now shot out from this second one.

A fire shield appeared beside Thien Huo, blocking the fire beam. The fire shield absorbed the flames from the fire beam. The absorbed flames spread around the dragon’s body, forming a flaming suit.

"I see you have wised up after our last battle, hehe," Mo Wang remarked.

"Don’t you mock me, human!" Thien Huo charged forward. His flaming suit left a trail of fire in his wake.

"I am not mocking you, salamander," Mo Wang said, just as Thien Huo’s massive jaws came at him, attempting to devour him.

Thien Huo’s jaws clamped down, but he felt nothing. He saw that Mo Wang was on his left. He swung his claw but hit only empty air. Mo Wang was now on his right. He continued to deliver attacks, but Mo Wang kept vanishing and appearing in different locations.

"You can’t touch me, Salamander. No one can," Mo Wang laughed.

Thien Huo looked as Mo Wang phased in and phased out all over the place. This was like a repeat of the previous battle. He also couldn’t catch Mo Wang then, as he kept teleporting.

"Law of space, eh...?" Thien Huo uttered.

He had fought fast opponents before. Even against opponents faster than him, he could still deal with it, because whenever one moved, there was an energy trail. His draconic senses were acute enough to read these energy trails and predict where they moved toward. Mo Wang was different. He left no trails. His presence simply ceased to be and reappeared elsewhere. He technically never moved. It was his position that experienced an instant relocation.

"Hahaha! Having trouble catching me? That’s what you get for picking a fight with me?" Mo Wang said. "Just to be clear. This time, I do mock you."

Thien Huo was silent as he observed his constantly shifting opponent. He closed his eyes, which bewildered Mo Wang.

Suddenly, Mo Wang found Thien Huo’s tail on top of him, right when he just teleported. There wasn’t enough time to perform the next teleport. The tail slammed into him. He was sent crashing into the ground.

Mo Wang wasn’t injured. He managed to use a defensive art before the tail hit. His pride was wounded, though. He stood on a crater in the ground created by his impact. His face and robe were covered in dirt. He no longer laughed.

"How did you catch me?" He asked.

"Serve you right for being arrogant," Thien Huo said. "While your teleports leave no trails for me to detect, I stopped reading them. Instead, I paid attention to the disturbance in space. You see, an instant before you appear, there is a distortion in space. That’s how I locate you."

"Tch! I guess I can’t expect it to be that easy, facing a Deity Beast. You are much calmer today than when we fought last time. Understandably so, I did sneak in a large wound during my ambush."

Mo Wang didn’t know that a majority of Thien Huo’s rage at that time was not because Mo Wang had wounded him, but because he had just learned that Amon had tricked Di Ying into forming a mental link.

"Nevertheless, you still can’t win against me," Mo Wang said. He put two fingers together. "It has been some time since I used any arcane arts. After I understand the Law of Space, there is little need to use it. Hehe, you should be proud."

He flicked his fingers. A bolt of lightning was produced from the flick. With incredible speed, it zoomed in Thien Huo’s direction.

Thien Huo was surprised by the speed, but he could still respond. The fire shield reappeared. The lightning hit the shield and pierced through it. Luckily, Thien Huo shifted his colossal body to the side when he put the shield up. The lightning grazed his side, leaving a bloody cut.

After the lightning was gone, Thien Huo noticed that the lightning not only cut through his shield, but it also tore through the space. Where the lightning had passed, a long line of void was there.

Thien Huo was astonished. Mo Wang’s lightning art was so fast, and his Law of Space gave it a destructive power that could penetrate almost anything. It was a nigh-undodgable and nigh-unblockable attack.

Mo Wang grinned. "Still want to continue this fight?"
