Chapter 200: Chapter 200: Mission Completed

"You’re welcome! I have to go give flowers to other people now. Bye-bye!"

"Bye-bye, pretty lady!"

The three little ones were being especially well-behaved, which the mothers found a bit amazing.

’At home, each of them was more mischievous than the last. They never thought their kids would show such a well-behaved side to a stranger.’

Yun Zijin, of course, had no idea what the mothers were thinking. After saying goodbye to the children, she led Lu Yunque, Zero One, and the others toward a more crowded area.

*

At 10:00 p.m., the 120 roses Yun Zijin had bought were finally all given away.

Yun Zijin also received a system notification that the task was complete.

However, Yun Zijin didn’t check the reward. Lu Yunque was right beside her, and if she did anything unusual, he would definitely notice.

Yun Zijin would never tell anyone about Randomly Spend, not even a future partner.

"It’s 10:00 p.m. You’ve been walking all evening. Are you hungry?"

Lu Yunque was worried Yun Zijin might be hungry. After all, she had walked a long way to give away those 120 roses.

With that much exertion, the small dinner she’d had would have been digested long ago.

"Want to get a late-night snack? I heard the night markets in C City are really lively."

’But during the National Day holiday,’ Yun Zijin thought, ’it’ll probably be packed.’

"The night markets are very crowded right now; we wouldn’t be able to squeeze our way in. I had someone book us a table at a place that has both snacks and main courses."

’As for the night market, it’s not too late to come back and experience it some other time when no one else is on vacation.’

Yun Zijin’s eyes lit up at Lu Yunque’s words. Getting to eat authentic C City snacks without fighting through crowds was obviously the best-case scenario.

"Then let’s go! I’m starving!"

Yun Zijin wasn’t lying. After walking all evening, the little she’d eaten for dinner was long gone.

"It’s a bit far, so we’ll take a taxi."

They hadn’t driven here, so taking a taxi was the only option to get somewhere a bit farther away.

Fortunately, there were plenty of taxis on this street. The nine of them split into three cars. Yun Zijin, Lu Yunque, and Zero One took the middle one, while the others took the cars in front and behind.

In less than ten minutes, the taxi pulled up to a late-night eatery.

This eatery, however, was exquisitely decorated. Though called a late-night spot, the interior was immaculate, completely free of the greasy smell that usually clings to such places.

The tables were wiped spotless and felt dry to the touch, not like some late-night spots where a quick wipe leaves a permanent layer of grease that can never be scrubbed clean.

"Hello, how many in your party?"

As the group of nine stepped inside, a waiter came to greet them.

"We have a reservation for a private room, under the name Lu."

Lu Yunque showed the reservation information on his phone to the waiter.

"Alright, please come this way to check in."

The waiter led the group to the front desk.

The receptionist at the front desk had overheard Lu Yunque and just needed to see the reservation on his phone. After looking at the information, she began processing it.

"Your private room is 0210. Here is the key card."

The receptionist handed Lu Yunque a magnetic key card.

Lu Yunque took the key card, and the waiter who had greeted them at the door moved to the front to lead the way.

’To be honest, the ambiance here is worlds better than other late-night spots. I just wonder how the food will taste.’

The private room was on the second floor, just a short walk from the elevator.

"Here are the menus. Please, have a look."

There were two menus. Lu Yunque handed one to Yun Zijin and the other to Zero One.

"You two order."

Yun Zijin didn’t hold back, opening the menu and immediately starting to order.

She ordered not only her own favorites but also plenty of dishes she knew Lu Yunque liked.

Zero One, meanwhile, casually flipped through a few pages and ordered whatever looked good to him.

"That’s all for now. We can add more if it’s not enough."

There were nine of them, all men except for Yun Zijin, so they ordered quite a bit of food.

"Understood. Please wait a moment."

After writing down their order, the waiter left the room.

While they waited for the food, Lu Yunque turned on the TV in the room, afraid Yun Zijin might get bored.

After asking what she wanted to watch, he cast it to the screen from his phone.

About ten minutes later, however, a server arrived with a cart. On it were some of their dishes, as well as the individual bowls of rice Yun Zijin had specifically requested for everyone.

"Here are the lamb skewers, the chicken flats, the drumettes, and the drinks you ordered. I’ll get you all some glasses."

The server placed all the barbecue skewers and rice on the table, then retrieved nine glass cups from a nearby sterilizer cabinet.

"Would you like me to pour the drinks for you?"

The main reason he asked was that they had ordered several different kinds of drinks, and he wasn’t sure which to pour.

"No, that’s alright. We can get them ourselves."

Yun Zijin waved him off, declining the offer.

Happy to be spared the task, the server excused himself and left the room.

"Don’t eat too much. If you get an upset stomach, you’ll be the one who suffers."

Seeing Yun Zijin’s eyes sparkle at the sight of the barbecue, Lu Yunque couldn’t resist a word of caution.

’He couldn’t stop her from eating junk food entirely, but she should at least eat it in moderation.’

’No matter how well-prepared it was, there was no denying it was still barbecue.’

"I know my limits."

With that, Yun Zijin took another bite of the chicken flat she was holding.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK...

"Come in!"

The same waiter from before entered, this time carrying some of the hot dishes Yun Zijin had ordered.

"Sautéed Shredded Potatoes with Vinegar, Stir-fried Seasonal Vegetables, Fish with Pickled Mustard Greens..."

The waiter announced the name of each dish as he set it down, mainly so the customers would know what had been served and to prevent any disputes arising from miscommunication when the bill came.

"When are our desserts coming?"

Yun Zijin had a small appetite and was already starting to feel full after just a few bites.

’If she waited for Lu Yunque and the others to finish, who knew how long she’d have to wait for her dessert.’

That’s right. Of all the dishes, the one Yun Zijin was most excited for was dessert.

"The desserts haven’t been started yet. If you’d like to have them now, I can go ask the kitchen to rush the order."

Since they were after-dinner desserts, the pastry chef usually waited until the guests had started their main course before preparing them.

But the restaurant was busy tonight, so her dessert order wasn’t up in the queue yet.

"Okay, I’d appreciate that. Thank you."

The server replied, "Of course," and left the room. He then used his walkie-talkie to inform the pastry chef that the guests in private room 0210 would like their dessert served early.

"I remember you ordered shaved ice for dessert, didn’t you? After eating all that barbecue, you’re going to have something frozen? Are you sure you’ll be okay?"

Lu Yunque was genuinely worried that the combination of hot barbecue and cold dessert would give Yun Zijin an upset stomach later.

’Disrupting their plans would be a minor issue; her physical discomfort was the major concern.’

"It’s fine, it’s fine. Worst case, I’ll just take a digestive aid when we get back."

Yun Zijin had firm faith in her iron stomach; she was sure there wouldn’t be a problem.
