Chapter 119: Chapter 119: School Begins
Su Mengyao’s eyes lit up. She thought Yun Zijin made a very good point.
"So, I’ll accept it then?"
Su Mengyao placed her finger over the red packet, about to tap it open.
"Hurry up and take it, or I’m going to regret it."
After sending the red packet, Lu Yunfeng tossed his phone aside. Out of sight, out of mind.
As long as he didn’t see the red packet get claimed, he could pretend he hadn’t spent the money.
Su Mengyao happily claimed the red packet. A glance at the amount showed it was 50,000—not too much, not too little, but enough for her and the girls to go out for afternoon tea.
"We’re done with our game. Sister Yun, do you two want to play?"
Sheng Yang racked the balls and looked toward Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao.
Aside from a few bodyguards, everyone else had found an activity they wanted to do. The only ones free at the moment were Sheng Yang and Lu Yunfeng.
"Of course we’ll play. But you’ll have to explain the rules and teach us how to play first."
Yun Zijin had never played before. Su Mengyao had, but she’d played nine-ball, not snooker.
The rules for nine-ball and snooker are very different.
"Sure. It’s perfect for one-on-one lessons."
"Brother Sheng Yang, teach me!"
The moment Sheng Yang finished speaking, Su Mengyao eagerly chimed in.
Lu Yunfeng shot Sheng Yang a teasing look before turning to Yun Zijin. "Sister Yun, I’ll teach you."
After some instruction from the two amateurs, Lu Yunfeng and Sheng Yang, the two novices, Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao, played a game against each other.
In the end, Yun Zijin won by sinking the last ball.
Since it was a rare get-together, Lu Yunfeng and the others were reluctant to leave too early. The party didn’t finally break up until one in the morning, after which everyone drove their separate cars home.
*
Time flew by. The charitable foundation Yun Zijin established in her name was successfully up and running, and the expansion of G City’s Hongxing Orphanage began construction in an orderly fashion.
On September 1st, Sheng Yang’s bar opened, coinciding with the start of the new semester at Dijing University.
Yun Zijin arrived at Dijing University with her bodyguards, Mei Lin, and a young maid, all of them pulling her luggage.
As a fourth-year senior, her registration process for the new semester was much simpler than for the freshmen. All she had to do was go to the office to check in with her class advisor and sign her name to confirm her arrival on campus.
Checking in with her advisor wasn’t urgent, so Yun Zijin simply pulled her suitcase and headed for the women’s dormitory.
During the start-of-semester move-in period, parents or upperclassmen helping with luggage could get special permission to enter the women’s dorms as long as they registered with the dorm manager, but they weren’t allowed to stay for long.
Being so tall and imposing, Zero One and the other bodyguards immediately drew the dorm manager’s attention, making Yun Zijin feel a bit awkward.
In the end, she decided not to have Zero One and his men follow her into the dormitory building. She only had Mei Lin and the young maid who came with her go inside.
Yun Zijin’s dorm was Room 0403 in Building 4 of Qinghe Garden, a standard four-person suite.
When Yun Zijin arrived, none of her other roommates were there yet.
"Miss, let me wipe everything down for you first. Then I’ll make the bed and put your other things away."
The young maid already knew why Yun Zijin had brought her out today. The moment she stepped into the dorm, she switched right into work mode.
Although Yun Zijin and Mei Lin weren’t nearly as efficient as the maid, they also pitched in and helped where they could.
About half an hour later, the young maid had finally finished setting up all of Yun Zijin’s things. Aside from the other roommates’ bed areas, the room looked brand new.
’This is the difference between a professional and an amateur.’
Just then, Yun Zijin heard the door open and instinctively glanced toward the entrance.
Qin Sitong opened the dorm room door and froze for a moment when she saw two unfamiliar young women.
Wondering if she’d gone to the wrong room, she stepped back out to check the number on the door. Only after confirming it was correct did she walk back in.
This time, she saw the familiar face of Yun Zijin.
"Zijin, are they...?"
It was no wonder she thought she was in the wrong room. Mei Lin and the young maid both looked young, so it was understandable that she’d mistaken them for students from another dorm.
"This is Mei Lin, and this is Yiyang. They came to help me unpack. They’ll be leaving in a bit, so don’t mind them."
Yun Zijin gave them a simple introduction, without going into much detail.
"Hello, I’m Qin Sitong. You can just call me Sitong."
Qin Sitong introduced herself to them as well.
"Hello!"
Yiyang greeted Qin Sitong, while Mei Lin simply gave a cool nod, which served as her greeting.
Although Qin Sitong found Mei Lin a bit aloof, she didn’t think much of it.
"Ren Hui and Li Cui aren’t here yet?"
The beds of the other two looked exactly as they had when they left for vacation.
"I haven’t seen them. I’m all unpacked. A friend of mine is opening a bar near campus today, so I won’t be joining you for dinner at the cafeteria tonight."
’Sheng Yang had called her a week ago to let her know the opening date. He had even specifically emphasized that, as a shareholder, she absolutely had to be present on the first day.’
’Since she didn’t have anything else planned, Yun Zijin had agreed.’
"A bar? Near campus? Can I go?"
Hearing about a new bar near campus immediately piqued Qin Sitong’s interest.
"Sure. It’s the first day of the soft opening, so there probably won’t be many people. Just make sure you stick close to me."
’There might not be many customers, but I still need to guarantee Qin Sitong’s safety.’
"Don’t worry, I’ll be good!"
After getting Yun Zijin’s approval, Qin Sitong’s spirits soared, and she trotted happily alongside her.
’As for my luggage, I can just unpack it when I get back tonight.’
The group went down to the first floor, and Yun Zijin and Qin Sitong went to check in with their class advisor first.
Once they finished registering, the two of them left the faculty office building together.
"Zijin, where’s that bar you mentioned? How do we get there?"
Qin Sitong asked curiously, linking her arm through Yun Zijin’s.
"It’s not far, less than a ten-minute drive."
’Sheng Yang had calculated it; it was the closest possible location to the school while still being legally permissible.’
"Take a taxi? For a ten-minute drive... why don’t we rent some electric scooters and ride over?"
Walking was out of the question, so Qin Sitong suggested a more budget-friendly alternative.
"No need. I drove."
’While they were walking from the dorm to the faculty building, Zero One and his men had already brought her car around.’
Yun Zijin led Qin Sitong to the parking lot, stopping beside the Lamborghini Sián she was driving that day.
Watching Yun Zijin stop next to the incredibly expensive-looking car, Qin Sitong felt her heart was about to leap out of her chest.
"Zijin, don’t tell me... when you said you drove, you meant *this* car?"
’The girl who needs to work part-time just to cover tuition and living expenses is suddenly driving a Lamborghini after one summer break?’
’You’ve got to be kidding me. No one would believe this.’
"Congratulations! You guessed correctly, but there’s no prize."
’What am I supposed to do now that my roommate turned into a rich woman over the summer?’
"Hurry up and get in."
Yun Zijin took out her car key, unlocked the doors, and quickly slipped into the driver’s seat.
