Chapter 520: Where is Taranis

"Taranis..." Nymeria groaned in her sleep as she extended her hand to her side, reaching for a hug from Taranis. Her fingers stretched across the sheets, seeking the familiar warmth of his body.

Her hand touched the empty bedsheet. The cool fabric met her palm, and she slowly opened her eyes, blinking against the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. The only figure sleeping beside her was Ume on the other edge of the bed, completely bare, her pink hair splayed across the pillow like a silken fan.

She rose from the bed, moving toward the bathroom in sleepy, shuffling steps, and whimpered in a low tone as she opened the door, "Hug me, Taranis."

There was no one in the bathroom either. The space was empty, the tiles cool under her bare feet.

Her brows furrowed, her lips pushing out in annoyance. And why would she not feel annoyed? How could he suddenly vanish without giving her morning cuddles? She was certainly unaware of the fact that it was already afternoon.

---

"Taranis... embrace me," Ume murmured, moving to the centre of the bed, her eyes still closed, her body seeking the warmth of her lover’s.

What she received was the cold bedsheet at the centre where Taranis should have been. Her pink eyes slowly opened, finding the bed empty and silent.

"Taranis, Nymeria..." She called, rising to a sitting position, moving her messy hair strands back from her face. Her whole body ached from the wild consecutive nights she had spent with Nymeria and Taranis without break. Her neck, shoulders, chest, stomach, thighs, and even her rear were marked by the deep love bites of Taranis, each one a souvenir of their passion.

"He is not here," Nymeria’s voice entered her fluffy ears as they twitched and moved toward the direction of the voice. Nymeria was sitting in front of the sofa placed before the bed, bare and cross-legged, reading a letter with a serious expression. Just like her, Nymeria’s body was also covered by the markings of Taranis. Due to her milk like skin, the red marks on her soft body were even more visible, standing out like petals on fresh snow.

"Where is he?" Ume asked, her brows furrowing. How dare he vanish without her morning cuddles.

"I do not know," Nymeria replied as she rose from the sofa. Her voice carried a hint of annoyance, obviously not targeted at Ume but at the absent man.

She reached the bed, sat behind Ume, and showed her the letter as she hugged her from behind, her arms wrapping around her neck.

The letter said:

Good Morning my babies.

I am sorry for vanishing without telling you. Adorn yourself in a dress that is worthy of your ethereal beauty (I know there is no dress that can remotely reach closer to your beauty).

Once you are ready, Ume, use your engagement ring to teleport to my location with Nymeria.

I love you babies.

Your one and only fiance,

Taranis.

"I hope it is something important, or I will not forgive him for skipping my morning cuddles," Nymeria sulked, her chin resting on Ume’s shoulder, her arms tightening around her sister’s neck.

"He would never leave us like this if it was not important," Ume said, gently caressing Nymeria’s cheek with her hand, her touch soft and reassuring. "Now go and get ready."

"Okay, Sis," Nymeria said, retreating to the floor, her bare feet padding against the marble floor as she moved toward the large mirror embedded on one of the wall.

Normally, it would have taken them several hours to get ready. Choosing a dress, matching the jewelry with it, and styling their hair accordingly was not an easy task after all. However, because they were worried about the sudden disappearance of their man, they got ready in only three hours.

It would have taken them even less time if Taranis had been there, the one responsible for styling their hair.

It took one hour for Nymeria to style her own hair and another hour to style Ume’s as well.

She wore an ethereal gown colored in the hues of a winter sky, adorned with intricate silver embroidery.

The off-shoulder design revealed her elegant collarbones and graceful neckline, while the fitted bodice accentuated her slender waist before flowing freely into layers of soft fabric. For the first time in her life, she had actually worn makeup, not on her face but to conceal the markings Taranis had left on her shoulders and neck.

Transparent net sleeves wrapped around her arms like winter mist, ending in frost-like crystal formations at her wrists. Similar icy patterns adorned her shoulders.

She had certainly gone all out with her hair. Two thick braids began at her temples, sweeping backward along the sides of her head before merging behind it, while smaller braids were woven between them in a delicate pattern. The rest of her lustrous hair flowed freely down her back, cascading like a snowfall.

"You are looking breathtaking, Sister Nym," Ume said, her voice carrying genuine admiration. Her tone turned playful as she continued, "If you appear before him like this, he will mark you all over again."

Nymeria released a small gasp, her hand instinctively reaching for her neck where she had hidden the marks. "Sister Ume, you have become so bold that you have even started teasing your little sister," she replied with a cute pout.

She reached beside her on the dressing table and said while looking at her reflection, "And speak for yourself. With how enchanting you look, forget about Taranis, even I am having a hard time keeping my hands off you."

Her words caused an immediate blush to spread across Ume’s cheeks, her fluffy ears stiffening atop her head.

"Sister Nym, have some decency," she muttered in a mosquito-like voice.

Ume wore a striking crimson-red top adorned with intricate golden embroidery. From her waist flowed a shimmering black skirt that reached her ankles, its lustrous fabric catching the light with every graceful movement as she examined herself in the mirror.

Delicate red sandals peeked from beneath the hem, adding a subtle contrast to the dark attire.

Her hair was styled in a high bun, held together with a golden hair clasp. A few strands were deliberately left loose, falling parallel to her temples on either side. Naturally, her forehead was covered by her cute bangs, while the love bites on her skin were concealed beneath makeup.

"He never told us to doll ourselves up before," Nymeria murmured as she put on earrings set with gemstones of blue frost. A matching necklace with a diamond chain and a similar gem rested against her slender neck. "Sister Ume, do you have any idea what he might be plotting?"

"Perhaps he wants us to meet his friends on Earth," Ume replied, slipping a bracelet onto her slim wrist.

"Are you ready?" she asked, stepping back from the mirror.

"Yes," Nymeria nodded, rising from the stool placed before the dressing table.

"Hold my hand," Ume said, extending her hand toward Nymeria.

As Nymeria grasped it, Ume closed her eyes, detecting Taranis’s location through the ring. Her warm pink Soulforce wrapped around Nymeria’s body, enveloping her completely.

A moment later, a spiral of plum blossoms materialized around them, covering them entirely.

When they opened their eyes, they felt the uneven ground beneath their feet. The petals vanished, revealing the scenery beyond.

A cool breeze struck them, swaying their clothes backward as waves crashed against the shore.

An ocean stretched before them as far as the eye could see, while the sun slowly submerged into the distant waters, its golden light reflecting across the dancing waves.

"So beautiful," both of them murmured, their eyes taking in the scenery.

"No doubt about that," a deep voice came from behind them.

They turned simultaneously, finding Taranis standing there with parted lips, widened eyes, and a crimson face.

Although they stood a foot away from him, they could clearly hear his heart beating like drums in his chest as he remained completely mesmerized by their beauty.

He wore a loose white cotton shirt with its top three buttons undone. Below was a pair of white jeans, ending above his bare feet. It was simple clothing, yet it looked perfectly striking to the two goddesses staring at him.

"Dear Heavens, I have never seen anything more ethereal than this," the words instinctively left Taranis’s mouth as his hand moved to his throbbing chest.

Ume’s gaze shifted to the ground in shyness, while Nymeria turned her face away, her fingers fidgeting with her gown.

The time they had spent dressing themselves was absolutely worth it.

"You are also looking charming," Nymeria whispered, completely forgetting the reason he had called them here.

He stepped closer and pointed forward.

"Would you like to watch the sunset with me?"

The duo nodded, turning toward the sea.

As the sun slowly dipped further below the horizon, leaving only a faint glow upon the beach, Nymeria and Ume released low gasps at the natural beauty before them.

"Taranis, what is this plac—"

Nymeria’s words stopped midway when she realized Taranis had vanished from between them once again.

"Where has he gone now?" Ume muttered, noticing his absence.

Before they could begin searching for him, Taranis called out from behind them.

"Ume... Nymeria..."

The girls turned, finding Taranis kneeling on one knee.

"What are you doing?" Nymeria asked with a chuckle, raising an eyebrow.

Meanwhile, Ume instantly understood what he was doing, her hand moving to cover her mouth. She had seen him in a similar posture before.

"I am not a complete man. I can never be," Taranis murmured, his eyes locked onto Ume’s and Nymeria’s faces. "Because what completes me are you two. You are my crimson moon and my frost moon. So I ask you, Ume Kitsune... Nymeria El Snowbane..."

He took a slow breath.

"Will you marry me?"
