Chapter 513: The Revenge
I took my hand off the door once Nymeria and Ume were inside. The metallic door groaned as it slowly returned to its place, sealing with a heavy thud.
Naturally, I took the seat beside Aryan, with Nymeria and Ume settling on my other side.
"Ha-haha, you have made it," Aryan chuckled once I settled, his voice carrying an unusual nervousness.
"Yeah."
"Y-you did not get any bumps on the road, right?" He asked, his tone awkward, fingers fidgeting on his lap.
"Bro, I came in a chopper."
"..."
He turned to Nymeria. "D-did you like our humble house? It is smaller than the castle you lived in."
"No, I loved your abode," Nymeria replied with a faint smile, her pale eyes softening. "You have a beautiful castle."
"Ah-ahaha, do not call it a castle. It does not deserve such praise." He rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit.
His eyes shifted to Ume as he continued, sweat trickling down his face. "I hope Inayat did not cause any trouble."
"Not in the least," Ume shook her head, her pink eyes warm. "She is a very adorable child."
"Oho, I am really pleased to hear such high praise from a literal goddess," Aryan replied, the awkward smile never leaving his face, his voice cracking slightly.
Nymeria and Ume chuckled along with him, to not come across as rude.
"Hey, stop acting weird. You are creeping me out," I muttered, my eyes narrowing at Aryan.
I knew the reason for his strange actions. He was feeling awkward about the things he had said to me on the call in the morning. He was trying to make sure I was not holding any grudge against him. He talked to Nymeria and Ume for the same reason, worried that I might have said anything negative about him to them in anger. His guilt was written all over his face.
"Was it that obvious?" He sighed, returning to normal, his shoulders slumping in defeat.
"Without a doubt. You even made them feel awkward," I said, pointing at the girls.
They turned their faces forward, deciding not to become part of the conversation between brothers, their gazes fixed on the blank screen ahead.
Aryan turned to me, his voice soft, barely above a whisper as he requested, "Could you forget everything about last night?"
My face remained neutral as no response came. Slowly, my lips coiled, rising upward in a terrifying smirk, my eyes narrowing with mischief. The silence stretched, thick with anticipation.
His complexion darkened as he realised what I was about to do. All the crimes he had committed against me from the past few days flashed before his eyes. Revealing about Nymeria and Ume to Maa when I was not ready, which caused me to sleep on the freezing floor and get beaten by Maa’s slipper. Adding oil to the fire when Maa was beating me, earning me twenty extra hits. His face paled as the weight of his sins settled over him.
It was revenge time.
I parted my lips, my voice turning loud enough to make sure that everyone in the hall could hear us, carrying across the tiered seats. "What do you want me to forget, Aryan? That you cried like an infant on the phone this morning?"
Every head snapped backward, looking at us with widened eyes and parted lips. The SSS Rankers, the strongest on Earth, turned to witness the drama unfolding.
"Or the fact that your wife spanked you with a whip last night?"
His eyes turned into saucers, his jaw dropping to the floor. Colour faded from his face as he instinctively demanded, "How did you know that—"
His hand flew to his face, clamping his mouth shut. However, he was too late. He had already fired the bullet. The damage was done. A mixture of shock and amusement rippled through the hall.
"Aryan, the Blood Demon actually cried?"
"That should be the least shocking news. Did you not hear that he got spanked by his wife?"
"Haha, no way that is true. The Blood Demon getting spanked—pfft—even imagining something like that is hilarious."
"But he did not deny the allegations though. He actually asked how his brother knew about it. Guess not even demons are spared from the wrath of their wives."
The hall that had been too tense and awkwardly silent from the presence of so many powerhouses fell into whispers and laughter as they looked at Aryan with a completely different gaze, their earlier wariness replaced by amused curiosity. Even the most stoic among them could not suppress a chuckle.
Meanwhile, the man in question, Aryan, had his face turned crimson, fumes practically erupting from his ears in embarrassment. He wanted to leave not just the conference but the whole country, take retirement in the Amazon forest, and never meet the eye of another human again. His fingers twitched with the urge to strangle me.
"Bastard, how did you know that?" He demanded, grabbing my collar, his knuckles white.
"I woke up to drink water in the night when I heard you saying ’I am sorry, Mommy,’ followed by the sound of a whip striking, coming through your room," I revealed with a shrug, my expression perfectly neutral.
It had happened when I was returning from the roof after my conversation with Celestia. The sounds had carried through the thin walls. Aryan must have used the secret technique that I had taught him to melt Sister Aisha’s heart, but clearly he had not accounted for the acoustics.
"It certainly took me off guard. Who knew my elder brother was a masochist?" I said, tapping his back as he completely lost the brightness from his eyes. The poor man seemed to have already passed the river Styx, his soul departing from his body.
After a few seconds of pulling himself together, his hands moved from my collar to my throat, his fingers digging into my skin with murderous intent.
"Either erase that memory from your mind, or I will fucking kill you right here," he announced, his eyes flickering between auburn and crimson. He was literally ready to throw hands at this point, his aura flaring dangerously.
"Maybe next time when you are getting loved by your MOMMY, make sure that your room is soundproof," I replied with a shrug, my lips widened in a smirk despite the pressure around my neck.
"Gahh!!!! Die, you fucker!!!" Aryan snapped, grabbing my throat with both hands, jolting me back and forth with all his strength.
His grip did little to no effect on my neck, thanks to my superhuman body, causing him to almost puke blood in sheer frustration.
His little retaliation only stopped when a striking woman appeared on the stage and reached the podium, gathering everyone’s attention with her commanding presence.
It was a familiar figure with long black hair, a round face like of a bunny, and deep black eyes that held an intensity beyond her gentle appearance. She stood tall, her gaze sweeping across the assembled powerhouses.
"Thank you, everyone, for attending this conference," the woman said, her tone calm and professional, cutting through the lingering murmurs. "We have summoned you all to discuss a matter of grave importance, one on which the fate of this very world depends."
"S-Saya?" I murmurred, identifying the woman on the stage.
