Chapter 506: Plans on marriage

"A-about that..." I rose to my feet, leaned closer to Maa’s ear, and whispered something, making sure Nymeria and Ume could not hear me. My voice was low, barely a breath.

Maa gave a satisfied nod to my words, causing the girls to look at me curiously, their eyes narrowing with suspicion and intrigue.

Once I moved back, she rose from the sofa, placed both her hands on Ume and Nymeria’s head, and said, "Raj is a bit childish. He will cause a lot of trouble for you two."

My brows furrowed, but I remained silent, biting back any protest.

"Still, what I am sure of is that he will go to any length to make sure no harm comes to you. He will never let you down."

"He already treasures us, as you said," Ume murmured, lowering her eyes, a soft blush colouring her cheeks.

"He has already gone to enough lengths to protect us as well," Nymeria added. "As for his childish behaviour..." A faint blush appeared on her face as she revealed, "I do not mind it at all."

I rubbed the back of my head and turned my head sideways, feeling embarrassed now, a warm flush creeping up my neck.

"You are one lucky shit, you know that," Aryan muttered, placing his arm around my neck in a half hug. "You have got yourself loving women. Do not make them cry."

"For the first time, we are on the same page," I replied with a smug smile. "I must have saved a world or something in my previous life that the heavens blessed me with the love of two ethereal goddesses."

Both Ume and Nymeria pressed their foreheads in embarrassment, their faces glowing pink.

"Here he goes talking nonsense again," Nymeria muttered, shaking her head, though a smile tugged at her lips.

The mood in the room had now turned much lighter. Things went rather more smoothly than I had expected.

The image of me getting beaten by a slipper and punished on my knees appeared in my mind. Perhaps... not that smoothly. Still, I felt as if a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders now that I had revealed everything to my family.

While I was smiling to myself, Inayat reached before Ume and Nymeria, who were sitting on the sofa, talking with Maa and Sister Aisha.

She placed both her hands on her little waist and demanded, "Are you Uncle Raj’s girlfriends?"

Nymeria broke into a light chuckle from her adorable question, her eyes crinkling with delight.

"Yes, we are," Ume answered with a warm smile, leaning forward slightly.

"Having two girlfriends is bad. He should have been beaten more," she nodded to herself before asking, "Are you princesses?"

"Ouch! Who is teaching her all that?" I muttered, holding my chest as if struck by an arrow.

"She did not say anything wrong," Aryan snickered beside me. "Your beating ended rather too smoothly."

Meanwhile, Nymeria leaned closer, resting her chin on her fist as she asked, "What makes you think that?"

"You are even more beautiful than my dolls. You must be princesses."

"Is that so... but we are not as beautiful as you. Are you also a princess?"

Inayat gave quick, short nods, her pigtails bouncing. "I am Uncle Raj’s Princess. He is my white knight."

Nymeria raised an eyebrow in amusement. She gave me a playful glance and said, "We are also Uncle Raj’s princesses. I am Princess Nymeria, and she is Princess Ume."

Inayat looked at them silently with her big black eyes, studying their faces, before declaring, "But I am the first princess!"

Sister Aisha picked Inayat up in her arms, lifting her with a gentle heave. "Alright, do not bother them. They will soon become your aunties."

"But I want to play with them," Inayat whimpered, her lower lip jutting out.

"Later. It’s milk time." She carried her inside the room with a milk bottle in her other hand, the little girl waving goodbye over her mother’s shoulder.

Aryan went inside his room as well, ranting about some meeting he needed to attend to, his voice fading behind the closing door. Maa talked with Ume and Nymeria for a few more moments, their voices a gentle murmur in the background. I left them to their ladies’ talk even though I knew the centre of their discussion was obviously me.

In an hour, an executive chopper landed on the helipad at the roof of the bungalow, its rotors slicing through the air with a rhythmic thrum. It was luxurious from the inside and spacious enough for having a seat for everyone, with leather upholstery and tinted windows that blocked out the glaring sun.

The chopper took us to the Los Angeles International Airport, where a private jet was prepared for us to take back to India. The gleaming white aircraft sat on the tarmac like a resting bird, stairs already lowered.

The entire place seemed relatively empty for an international airport. No plane was landing or taking off. An unusual silence hung over the runways, broken only by the distant hum of machinery. A few hundred metres away from the private jet, multiple black sedans and SUVs were parked in a neat formation.

As soon as we came out of the chopper, a man in formal attire, seemingly in his mid 60s with a mix of grey and golden hair, walked toward us from the cars. Several officers with guns and black glasses followed him closely from behind, their movements precise and alert. I instantly recognised the figure. He was the President of the United States, a face I had seen countless times on news broadcasts.

"It is a pity that we could not thank you properly for the aid you provided to not just San Francisco but the whole country," the President said to Aryan, extending his hand forward. His voice was warm, carrying genuine gratitude. "Still, I understand that you wish to return to your home, so I will not delay your return any further."

"Thanks for your understanding," Aryan replied, shaking his hand firmly.

The President turned to me and continued, "I have countless questions for you. Nonetheless, I will keep them to myself, as your aid transcends my curiosity about you." He extended his hand forward and declared, "America will always welcome you and the whole Singh family with open arms whenever you visit."

I shook his hand and replied with a playful smirk, "Please do not use nuclear missiles as firecrackers the next time I visit."

The President’s eyebrows twitched, forming an awkward smile that did not quite reach his eyes. The officers behind him exchanged similar awkward gazes, shifting their weight from foot to foot.

"Raj..." Aryan sighed, facepalming with an audible smack.

"Haha, I am just kidding," I chuckled, shaking his hand aggressively, perhaps a bit too enthusiastically.

He let out small chuckles, the officers copying similar smiles, though theirs looked more like grimaces. Talk about making things awkward.

One of the officers stepped forward, holding a wide suitcase in his hand. The case was black, reinforced with metal corners, and looked heavy.

"The help you provided us cannot be exchanged with materialistic things. So consider this only as a gift to our benefactors." Once the President finished his words, the officer opened the suitcase with a soft click, revealing a long spear placed inside.

Its blade glowed with a dark obsidian like substance, absorbing the light around it, while numerous patterns were engraved over its long shaft. The weapon seemed to be pulsating with an energy that felt strangely familiar to me.

"Black Fang!" Aryan gasped, his eyes widening before he instantly regained his calm composure. "It is one of the only three S-Rank weapons in the world, the treasure of America. Are you sure you want to gift it to us?"

"As I said, it is just a small gift to our benefactors. If not for Mr. Raj, not just America but the whole continent might have been destroyed."

I pulled out the spear that was firmly pinned in the suitcase, feeling its weight settle into my palm.

"Vivi, check its quality."

"Initialising Host’s request..."

"Hmm... not bad," I said with a light nod, a bit uninterested, twirling the spear once in my hand. "I guess it is better than Shinku No Sabi since I will not have to worry about the curse."

My unimpressed reaction shocked both Aryan and the President. Their faces registered a mixture of disbelief and awe.

"H-haha, it is not easy to please the strongest Awakener in the world," the President shook his head, recovering with a nervous chuckle.

After exchanging formal goodbyes, we went inside the jet. It was even more luxurious than the chopper in which we had arrived, with plush carpets, ambient lighting, and the faint scent of polished wood.

"Taranis, is it another flying artifact?" Ume asked, tugging at my sleeve, her pink eyes wide with curiosity.

"Yeah, it is called an airplane," I answered with a gentle pat on her head. Both she and Nymeria were completely intrigued by the chopper. Although they had used flying carriages countless times in Vyoman, the internal architecture of the chopper was far more attractive, with its buttons, screens, and whirring machinery. And now the interior of the jet made small gasps escape their lips, their heads turning in every direction.

Still, they kept themselves composed, self-conscious about their representation in my family’s presence.

The interior of the jet was divided into multiple sections, each offering two comfortable massaging chairs placed face to face with the other two, with a glass window fitted into the aircraft’s side. Soft light filtered through the windows, illuminating the cream coloured seats.

As we settled, with both Nymeria and Ume sitting in the chairs in front of me, Nymeria leaned closer, her eyes gleaming with excitement, and asked, "What did you say when your Maa asked about your plans on marriage?"
