Chapter 1951: Chapter 1797: A Decade-long Scheme (Part 2)
Song Yun patted the bag on his back: "I’ve got a gun with me, I’m not afraid."
The people in the camp all chuckled, in their view, the gun was practically useless.
Song Yun scanned the entire campsite and asked Qian Lei, "Brother Da Lei, what are you guys camping here for?"
Qian Lei’s expression was half-smiling, he said: "Waiting for prey."
"Waiting for prey."
Qian Lei replied.
Song Yun feigned a confused look and asked: "Waiting for prey? How are you waiting for prey here? What kind of prey are you waiting for? If the prey sees such a big setup, I’m afraid it won’t come, will it?"
Faced with Song Yun’s barrage of questions, Qian Lei stroked his bearded cheek and smiled meaningfully: "The prey will come sooner or later."
The group chatted for a while as the sky gradually darkened and the campfire ignited for cooking.
The campsite’s supplies were very plentiful, with beef, pork, and vegetables available.
Once dinner was prepared, Qian Lei invited Song Yun and Dongfang Yun to eat.
The two did not refuse any further, after sitting down they ate whatever others ate.
They resolutely avoided untouched dishes.
After dinner, everyone sat around the bonfire, talking about everything.
By ten o’clock, the howls of wolves echoed through the night forest.
It was about time to sleep at this hour.
"Wang Gang, Lu Liang, go set up two small tents for Song Yun and Dongfang Yun."
Qian Lei enthusiastically arranged for two small tents to be set up, one for Song Yun, and the other for Dongfang Yun.
"Thanks, brother Da Lei."
Song Yun cupped his hands in gratitude, then casually washed up and entered one of the small tents.
Before entering the tent, he glanced at Dongfang Yun.
Coincidentally, Dongfang Yun also looked his way.
Their eyes met, both implying a reminder to the other, then they each entered their tents.
Everyone else at the camp also entered the large tent, and the human sounds gradually quieted down, leaving only the crackling of the bonfire outside and occasional wolf howls.
Soon, snores came from the large tent, it was unclear who was snoring.
Rustle.
Suddenly, Song Yun’s tent was lifted open.
In the faint light of the bonfire, a shadowy figure appeared, it was a woman.
"Song Yun."
A soft voice sounded, Song Yun recognized the woman entering the tent as Yang Na.
Yang Na groped her way into the tent, casually pulled the tent shut, and lay down next to Song Yun.
The tent was small; Song Yun could smell a fragrant scent as Yang Na squeezed closely next to him, even feeling her breath.
"Song Yun."
Yang Na called again, her voice sultry.
She placed her right hand on Song Yun’s chest, rubbing as she whispered, "I want."
"Want what?"
Song Yun asked.
Yang Na pressed her chest against Song Yun’s arm, cooing, "Want to play with you, aren’t you interested in me?"
Song Yun laughed: "A... little bit."
"Only a little bit?"
Yang Na pressed even closer, her head leaning toward Song Yun, ready to breathe into his ear.
But just as she moved, she felt an icy sensation on her neck.
Experience told her it was a sharp blade.
She glanced down and, in the dim light of the tent’s bonfire, saw a sword poised at her throat.
"You...what are you doing?"
Yang Na spoke softly, her tone carrying a hint of grievance.
Simultaneously, her left hand gripped the dagger at her waist, ready to strike back.
"You didn’t expect me to act before you, did you?"
Song Yun chuckled teasingly, with no hint of pity, slicing his Throat Sealing Sword down Yang Na’s neck, leaving a trail of blood.
He lowered his voice and said, "Put down the dagger in your left hand, or I’ll slit your throat with one sword."
Yang Na’s eyelids twitched, the resentment on her face disappeared, turning into hatred.
She gritted her teeth, let go of the dagger, raised her left hand to signal Song Yun, and said softly, "What do you mean? I just wanted to play with you."
"Don’t joke around. I know what you’re up to."
Song Yun lay still, the Throat Sealing Sword pressed tightly against Yang Na’s neck.
He asked, "What’s your real name?"
Yang Na frowned slightly, "What real name?"
Swish.
A flash of cold light.
Song Yun nicked Yang Na’s neck again, and said in a deep voice, "I have little patience."
Yang Na felt a sticky sensation on her neck. Although it didn’t hit the artery, quite a bit of blood was flowing.
She realized the man beside her was not only tough to deal with but ruthless as well.
She answered through gritted teeth, "My real name is Shen Na."
Song Yun asked, "Do all the others have the Shen surname too?"
"How do you know?"
Shen Na asked, puzzled.
Song Yun chuckled, "You all belong to the Shen Family, of course with the Shen surname."
How does he know we’re from the Shen Family?
Shen Na’s expression shifted slightly, and she said softly, "Everyone else has the Shen surname, except Qian Lei. That’s his real name; he’s the Shen Family’s son-in-law."
"Regardless of your names, you’re from the Shen Family, which makes you my enemy."
Song Yun sneered and asked, "How long have you been stationed here?"
Shen Na didn’t dare lie and answered truthfully, "I’ve been stationed here for nine years. There were two other groups before, and from what I heard from Qian Lei, it’s been about thirty years in total."
Thirty years—quite a long time.
Song Yun raised an eyebrow and continued, "Why are you guarding here?"
Shen Na replied, "Waiting for prey."
"Waiting for prey? Ha, waiting is right, but who will be prey is uncertain." Song Yun smirked and said, "When you came out on a mission, didn’t the Shen Family tell you what to do?"
"Only Qian Lei knows the purpose; everyone else follows his orders."
"Does Qian Lei know a lot?"
"He’s a core member of the Shen Family; his father-in-law is Family Head Shen Kunpeng’s second brother, Shen Kunhu."
Song Yun didn’t know who Shen Kunhu was, but from Shen Na’s words, Shen Kunhu’s status in the Shen Family was clearly very high.
He continued to ask, "Earlier, when Dongfang Yun and I arrived, you told us to move aside, then suddenly called us over. Why?"
Shen Na said, "We usually drive off regular travelers. But Qian Lei mentioned that your aura was different, so we let you come over. And from Qian Lei’s expression, he seemed to recognize you."
If Qian Lei recognized him, Song Yun wouldn’t be surprised at all.
Since the Shen Family wanted to kill him, they would definitely have his photo.
Qian Lei, as a core member of the Shen Family, knowing about him and having seen the photo was only logical.
"Looks like Qian Lei wants to kill us."
Song Yun sneered.
Shen Na remained silent, tacitly agreeing.
Song Yun asked again, "What level is Qian Lei, how strong is he?"
Upon hearing this question, Shen Na showed admiration, "Qian Lei reached mid-SS level; his strength is unfathomable. Among the Shen Family’s third generation, only Shen Han has higher talent. Even so, since Shen Han is more than ten years younger, his combat power currently falls short."
Song Yun laughed, "From what you’re saying, Qian Lei sounds pretty awesome."
Shen Na said, "I advise you to surrender, or when Qian Lei makes a move, you’ll be doomed."
Shen Na was full of confidence in Qian Lei’s abilities and even advised Song Yun to surrender.
Song Yun wasn’t fazed, jokingly said, "Hearing that almost scared the pee out of me."
Seeing Song Yun unafraid, Shen Na’s mouth twitched, and she said coolly, "You don’t understand the Shen Family’s power. If you dare act tonight, I guarantee you won’t leave this camp alive. And your companion, that woman named Dongfang Yun, will also be..."
Song Yun said, "Looks like you’ve done this quite a few times while camping here."
"I suggest you let me go; among those men, Wang Gang has a preference for men."
Shen Na threatened, then continued, "And you and Dongfang Yun together can’t possibly defeat Qian Lei. He received Shen Kunhu’s training; his strength is beyond what people like you can imagine. Judging by your looks, if you know the Shen Family, you should understand the Hermit’s prowess."
