Chapter 1945: Chapter 1794: Heroine Takes Action (Part 2)

"Let her go."

The heroine said calmly, but a glint of murderous intent flashed in her eyes.

Seeing the farmer’s wife being held at knifepoint by the man in the floral shirt, the heroine finally became truly angry. A fierce killing intent erupted from her, making the surrounding air seem icy cold.

The man in the floral shirt felt the heroine’s murderous intent, and his legs couldn’t help but tremble.

He looked at the beautiful and proud woman in front of him, not understanding why she was so terrifying that he didn’t even dare to meet her gaze.

Just as the floral shirt was distracted for a moment, the heroine dashed forward and grasped the man’s wrist.

Crack.

His hand was broken, and the switchblade he was holding flew out and landed on the ground.

"Ow!"

The man in the floral shirt wailed in pain, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.

Seeing this, his companions dared not stand up and pretended to be dead on the ground.

"Go find the elixir pills, or I’ll break your limbs."

The heroine pointed to the bushes where the elixir pills had fallen and ordered the men in the floral shirt.

The man in the floral shirt glared secretly at the heroine, but didn’t dare to be arrogant again, and headed towards the bushes with his head down.

With both hands crippled, he couldn’t push the bushes aside, and could only rely on his eyes to search, but how could he see clearly?

"Hurry up and come help search."

The man in the floral shirt shouted to his companions.

The young men pretending to be dead quickly got up and started searching the bushes with the man in the floral shirt.

The heroine stood aside like a supervisor, keeping a close watch on them.

Suddenly, the man in the floral shirt started to run, shouting, "You damn woman, you’re dead! I’ll definitely kill you!"

Seeing him run away, the others looked distressed and secretly cursed the man in the floral shirt for being untrustworthy.

They glanced inconspicuously at the heroine, also considering running away.

Being forced to stay here to find something was truly humiliating.

Just as they were sneaking looks at the heroine, she picked up a stone and swiftly threw it at the man in the floral shirt.

The man, who had already run over twenty meters, was hit in the leg by the stone and fell forward, sprawling on the ground and crying out in pain, "Damn, my leg’s broken, it’s bleeding a lot, get me an ambulance right away."

He cried out miserably, but no one paid him any attention.

His companions, scared witless, gave up on escaping and buried their heads in searching the bushes for the elixir pills.

Fortunately, they had seen where the pills fell earlier, and after searching for a while, they finally found them.

The short, chubby young man took the elixir pills and nervously walked over to the heroine, handing them to her.

The heroine pointed to the farmer’s wife. "They’re not mine, they’re hers."

The short, chubby young man quickly handed the elixir pills to the farmer’s wife and fearfully said to the heroine, "Can we leave now?"

The heroine nodded and paid no more attention to the chubby young man.

Relieved as if granted amnesty, the group quickly went over to help the man in the floral shirt up, and they fled into the distance.

"Damn, that woman is fierce. A small stone acting like a bullet actually broke Mr. He’s leg."

"If it hit the head, wouldn’t Mr. He’s head have been blown apart."

"Stop the damn chatter; get me to the hospital. Damn, I’m going to get my revenge for this."

The voices faded into the distance.

The heroine glanced over with a calm look, as if listening to the harsh words of a few three-year-olds.

"Thank you, thank you."

The farmer’s wife repeatedly thanked the heroine and asked, "May I know your name? I will definitely pray for the Holy Tree to bless you."

The heroine replied, "My name is Dongfang Yun."

Dongfang Yun.

A nice sounding and rather chivalrous name, perfectly matching the heroine’s demeanor.

"So her name is Dongfang Yun."

Song Yun nodded quietly, a smile on his lips, as he carefully observed the heroine.

Perhaps she was not as pure as Xiao Qing, did not possess Xia Tian’s elegance, and certainly lacked Hua Qingcheng’s allure...

Yet, her demeanor was unique and full of charm.

The peasant woman gratefully said, "Ah, your name is Dongfang Yun. Thank you, I will certainly pray to the Holy Tree for your blessing."

Dongfang Yun replied, "Big sister, this tree is not a Holy Tree. It’s just more vibrant due to certain reasons. Don’t blindly believe in it; if the child is sick, you still need to seek medical help."

The Holy Tree held a revered place in the locals’ hearts, and upon hearing Dongfang Yun’s words, the peasant woman was displeased.

She frowned, saying, "The Holy Tree is sacred, you cannot slander it. People have prayed to it for blessings for many years, and most of it comes true."

Dongfang Yun remained composed and continued to explain, "Big sister, your wishes come true surely because of other reasons. There are no deities in this world; even if they exist, they’re too busy to be blessing you."

The peasant woman’s face looked even more troubled. She gazed at Dongfang Yun suspiciously, saying, "Since you don’t believe in the Holy Tree, then why, when I prayed to it, did you happen to be here to give me the Elixir Pills?"

Faced with this question, Dongfang Yun was taken aback and unsure how to respond.

Seeing this, Song Yun stepped forward, smiling, "You happened to meet today, perhaps it truly is the Holy Tree’s blessing, who knows."

Dongfang Yun glanced at Song Yun; she seemed unwilling to discuss the matter further and said to the peasant woman, "Big sister, you should hurry and take the Elixir Pills back to save your daughter."

Thinking of her daughter’s illness, the peasant woman thanked Dongfang Yun again and hurriedly turned to leave.

After the peasant woman left, Dongfang Yun looked at Song Yun and asked, "Do you believe in this so-called Holy Tree?"

"I don’t believe." Song Yun shook his head and smiled, "In my view, helping that lady is just a coincidence."

Dongfang Yun asked, "Since you don’t believe, why did you say those things earlier?"

Song Yun responded, "The Holy Tree is the faith of the locals, arguing with them is futile. Moreover, destroying someone’s belief is not good. So, why not let her continue believing in this Holy Tree."

Dongfang Yun was quiet for a moment, saying, "You seem to have a point. But believing in the Holy Tree can’t fundamentally solve her problems. Because next time, she might not encounter someone willing to help."

Song Yun chuckled, "Good people in the world are not just you alone. Perhaps next time, she’ll meet another kind soul?"

Dongfang Yun scrutinized Song Yun, "Could it be you consider yourself a good person too?"

Song Yun laughed, "I’m not boasting; I should be considered a very good person."

"Since you’re a good person, then why didn’t you intervene when those few scoundrels were bullying someone?"

Dongfang Yun stared at Song Yun skeptically, alertness in her eyes, suddenly asked, "Why did you come here?"

"To see the Holy Tree."

"I don’t believe you."

Dongfang Yun shook her head and turned to walk in the direction of Green Dragon Mountain Hotel, saying, "Don’t follow me, or I won’t go easy on you."

Song Yun smiled and followed Dongfang Yun.

Dongfang Yun glared back at him, and Song Yun shrugged: "I also stay at the Green Dragon Mountain Hotel, surely you won’t deny me the return to my hotel?"

Realizing Song Yun also stayed at the Green Dragon Mountain Hotel, Dongfang Yun frowned slightly but said nothing more, heading straight for the hotel.

Apparently, she wasn’t unreasonable and didn’t force Song Yun to change hotels.

Song Yun maintained a respectful distance, a few steps behind, and entered the hotel following Dongfang Yun.

Unexpectedly, after going upstairs, they continued in the same direction.

Dongfang Yun stopped in front of room 508, turned to Song Yun, frowning, "I told you not to follow me, are you really forcing me to take action?"

"I live in this room; I wasn’t following you."

Song Yun helplessly shrugged, took out his room card, and swiped the lock on the adjacent 506 door.

The beep unlocked the door.

With this, Dongfang Yun realized she had misunderstood Song Yun.

However, she did not lower her guard, because her intuition told her Song Yun was not simple.

"Goodbye."

Song Yun smiled at Dongfang Yun and entered his room.

Dongfang Yun glanced at Song Yun’s closed door, deep in thought, before entering room 508.
