Chapter 1840: Chapter 1724: Fujun Cliff

Song Yun and Juan Mao stayed in Yanjing, while Master Bei hurried back to Taishan.

When he and his senior brother reached the foot of Taishan, they followed a path towards the dense forest at the summit. Their place of residence wasn’t in the tourist area but in a hidden mountain location.

Just as they were about to reach the mountain gate, Master Bei received a phone call from a friend.

"You’ve made too much noise at the Tang Family, Song Yun has the Song Family backing him, but you need to quickly find your master. I can’t delay things for long, you’ll need to settle this quickly, or there’ll be consequences for both of you."

The friend’s tone was heavy, and after saying this, he hung up without waiting for Master Bei’s reply.

Master Bei had anticipated trouble, but he thought this friend could handle it.

However, hearing the friend’s severe voice, he knew there was pressure from behind, and the friend couldn’t make decisions anymore.

Silently thanking his friend, he spoke to his senior brother: "Senior brother, I have some personal matters to attend to. Please inform the master that I’ll descend the mountain first."

"Are you going to find Song Yun and the Abyss?"

Before the senior brother could respond, a cold voice emerged from the dense forest.

"Who is it?"

The senior brother asked sharply, looking cautious as he scanned the surroundings, finding no presence.

"It’s not your concern, young one, I’m here for the boy."

The voice echoed again, followed by rustling sounds from the eastern forest.

Both the senior brother and Master Bei turned to look eastward, but then a voice came from behind: "I’m right here."

Turning around, they saw a man standing behind them, about two meters away.

If this person had made a move earlier, they would be doomed.

Their hearts raced as they assumed defensive postures, scrutinizing the man before them.

This person seemed around forty, dressed casually, hands in pockets with a malicious smile, giving an insidious vibe.

His eyes were heavily bagged and dark, like he was ill.

The senior brother stepped in front of Master Bei, and asked the man, "Who are you, what do you want?"

"Move aside."

The man with the bags demanded sharply and struck a palm towards the senior brother.

The senior brother promptly blocked but was pushed back, crashing into a tree before he stopped.

Though unharmed, here at Taishan’s gate, even if stronger, the opponent wouldn’t dare injure a Taishan disciple, he only repelled the senior brother.

Seeing the opponent was so strong, Master Bei’s expression changed, unclear about their intentions.

"Boy, come with me for a while."

The man with the bags approached Master Bei, stretching his right hand towards him.

Feeling the speed, Master Bei couldn’t evade.

As the hand almost reached, a short sword shot out from the forest towards the man with the bags.

Unavoidably retreating to evade the sword.

With a thunk, the short sword embedded deep into a nearby tree.

"Wang Dun, this is Taishan. You dare take a Taishan disciple here as if ignoring me, the Taishan Lord’s High Priest."

A gentle voice sounded as an old man in regular attire emerged from the forest.

The elderly figure exuded a serene air, his gaze half-closed, projecting an aura of a master.

Indeed, he was a master.

Seeing him, Wang Dun’s expression changed, showing dread, and he bowed slightly, formally greeting, "Wang Dun greets High Priest Senior!"

The High Priest spoke solemnly, "Leave, Taishan does not welcome you."

Wang Dun glanced at Master Bei without moving or responding.

"What, still wish to spar?"

The High Priest’s eyes snapped open, battle intent flashing, startling Wang Dun.

Pointing at Master Bei, Wang Dun’s expression was unpleasant, "High Priest Senior, this man committed a heinous crime, colluding to destroy the Tang Family. For such a grave offense, I must take him to answer."

"He is my disciple and the next High Priest."

The High Priest glared at Wang Dun, then said to Master Bei, "Withdraw the short sword and follow me back."

With that, the High Priest led the way back up the mountain.

Amid the thick foliage, a glimpse of buildings could be seen not far up the mountain.

As the High Priest left, Wang Dun called, "High Priest Senior, please don’t make things difficult for me."

Turning back, the High Priest took several steps, appearing before Wang Dun.

He glared into Wang Dun’s eyes, saying coldly, "I won’t repeat myself, he’s my disciple, I’ll discipline him, not you or the Golden Dragon Palace."

Wang Dun frowned, "This..."

Before he finished, the High Priest floated forward several meters without looking back, stating, "Wang Dun, I advise you, Song Yun has the Song Family behind him, you can’t touch him. As for the Little Sword God and that Juan Mao, if you harm them, the Golden Dragon Palace won’t bear the consequences, be wise."

Seeing his master stand up for him, Master Bei didn’t fully grasp the situation, he quickly pulled the embedded sword from the tree, joining his senior brother in following the High Priest.

Wang Dun stood there helplessly watching Master Bei leave.

"Miscomputed, seems this time, just let him go, shift the target to the Little Sword God and Master of Abyss instead."

Wang Dun snorted coldly, turning to rush down the mountain.

He ignored the High Priest’s warning.

Master Bei is your disciple, Song Yun’s background is extensive, but as for that Little Sword God and Master of Abyss, how can there be so many people with background?

The Tang Family was eradicated, if the Golden Dragon Palace catches no one, it would lose its authority.

Choosing to overlook the High Priest’s words, he decided to capture the duo.

For safety, he thought to contact two more people to act together.

Master Bei followed his master, respectfully presenting the short sword, saying, "Master, my brothers are in trouble, I request to descend the mountain to..."

The High Priest interrupted, speaking sternly, "Little Bei, do you know why I’m designating you as my successor to lead the Taishan Lord’s rites, not selecting other junior priests?"

"Because you are passionate, and I am too."

"But even for loyalty, don’t seek your own death, could you fight that person just now? If not, how could descending help your brothers?"

Master Bei frowned slightly, "But..."

"No buts, Song Yun’s background runs deep, his master poses no small challenge, as for the Little Sword God and Juan Mao, there’s no need for you to worry." The High Priest firmly commanded, "Qin Yu, take your junior to ’Fujun Cliff’, face the wall for a year, then see me."

A year!

Master Bei’s heart skipped but respectfully replied, "Disciple accepts punishment."

The High Priest disappeared into the forest with several leaps.

Master Bei looked at Qin Yu, asking, "Senior Qin, isn’t Taishan’s cave for reflection Si Guo Cave? Why Fujun Cliff?"

"Do you think this is ’The Smiling, Proud Wanderer’?"

Senior Qin sympathetically looked at Master Bei, stating, "Come on, let’s go to Fujun Cliff."
