Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Thugs

Qin Tuo didn’t even spare the receptionist a glance and went straight to the elevator.

After watching Qin Tuo go up, the receptionist couldn’t help but sneer.

"Sigh, what a pity! Looks like someone is going to get a good beating today!"

The elevator arrived at the eighth floor, and Qin Tuo frowned as he stepped out.

A clamor came from up ahead, filled with the constant sounds of shouting and boisterous laughter.

As Qin Tuo walked down the corridor, he noticed the empty offices on either side were filled with groups of shirtless, brawny men smoking, playing cards, laughing, and cursing.

"Huh? Kid, where’d you come from?"

Suddenly, a brawny man noticed Qin Tuo and asked with a frown.

But Qin Tuo paid him no mind and continued straight ahead.

Seeing this vile scene, Qin Tuo finally understood why the receptionist had let him upstairs so easily.

’So that’s why. They were fully prepared, confident they could get away with anything.’

This didn’t look like a company at all; it was a full-blown underground den.

’No wonder the previous debt collectors all came back empty-handed, or even got threatened and beaten. So this is why!’

Qin Tuo sneered inwardly.

He arrived at the general manager’s office.

The door wasn’t locked, so he pushed it open and walked right in.

The moment he stepped into the office, he heard the sound of lustful moans!

On two office desks pushed together, a battle of the flesh was in full swing.

Qin Tuo was stunned by the obscene sight.

AH!

The two of them jumped in fright and scrambled off the desks in a panic.

The woman was none other than Zhang Xiaoqian. She hastily threw her clothes back on.

The young man was Zhang Xiaoqian’s boyfriend and the general manager of the Qian Group, Qian Xuanyu.

The two were in the middle of their sordid affair, never expecting someone would dare to barge in.

They had gotten used to this kind of behavior, as no one would dare enter without Qian Xuanyu’s permission.

Qian Xuanyu cursed angrily while fastening his belt.

"Damn you, punk! Where the hell did you come from? How dare you just walk in without knocking!"

Qin Tuo sneered.

"Since when does a debt collector have to be polite when coming to collect?"

The remark left Qian Xuanyu speechless.

He couldn’t help but narrow his eyes, a vicious glint appearing as he stared daggers at Qin Tuo.

"You’ve got some nerve, kid..."

Just then, Zhang Xiaoqian, now fully dressed, glanced at Qin Tuo in a fluster and did a double take.

"It’s you, you worthless punk?"

Qian Xuanyu asked, puzzled,

"You two know each other?"

Zhang Xiaoqian waved her hand dismissively.

"How could I possibly know someone like him? He’s just my college roommate’s deadbeat boyfriend!"

"Heh, so he’s just a bum. And here I thought he was someone important!"

Hearing this, Qian Xuanyu sneered and completely relaxed.

He sat back in his executive chair, calmly lit a cigar, and began blowing clouds of smoke.

"So, kid, you said you’re here to collect a debt?"

Qin Tuo nodded, his expression expressionless.

"That’s right. You owe my company money, and it’s time to pay up."

Qian Xuanyu burst into arrogant laughter, as if he’d just heard the funniest joke in the world.

"Kid, didn’t you see my hired muscle on your way up? You’ve got a death wish, coming here to collect a debt!"

The Qian Group owed a substantial amount of external debt, which they were perfectly capable of repaying.

But Qian Xuanyu decided to be a deadbeat. To deal with the various debt collectors, he’d rather spend a fortune hiring a horde of thugs.

Most debt collectors who saw this kind of setup would be so scared their skin would crawl. How could they possibly dare to even mention money?

Only someone like Qin Tuo would dare to show up and demand payment so righteously.

Qin Tuo feigned confusion.

"Isn’t paying your debts a matter of course? Are you saying you can borrow money and just not pay it back?"

Seeing that Qin Tuo was being dense, Qian Xuanyu stood up and threatened,

"Kid, aren’t you afraid I’ll have my men chop off your limbs and toss you in the river to feed the fish?"

Nearby, Zhang Xiaoqian sneered repeatedly, her eyes full of contempt for Qin Tuo.

But Qin Tuo’s voice was cold as he replied,

"You think I scare that easily? Let me make one thing clear: no matter what, you’re paying back the two million you owe. Today."

An invisible, domineering aura radiated from him as he spoke.

Qian Xuanyu flew into a rage, his eyes flashing with a terrifying, vicious light.

Zhang Xiaoqian couldn’t resist sneering viciously.

"Stop pretending to be some big shot, kid. Aren’t you just a regular office drone? A piece of trash like you is someone I can crush whenever I want!"

Qin Tuo just gave a cold smile, sat down on a nearby chair, and made it clear he wasn’t leaving.

His posture made it perfectly clear: he wouldn’t rest until he got the money today.

Qian Xuanyu suddenly smiled, extinguished the cigar in his hand, and nodded repeatedly.

"Alright, kid. You’ve got more guts than anyone I’ve ever met. Looks like I’ll have to give you some special treatment today!"

Zhang Xiaoqian immediately chimed in,

"Honey, I can’t stand the sight of this guy either. Call some of your men to give him a good beating and then throw him out!"

Qian Xuanyu nodded and smiled.

"Honey, as you wish!"

The words had barely left his mouth when he shot Qin Tuo a cold glare and pressed a red button on his desk.

But Qin Tuo’s expression remained unchanged; he was perfectly calm.

The button was pressed, and an alarm blared throughout the floor!

Soon, a dozen or so brawny men, their faces contorted with menace, burst through the door.

"President Qian, what idiot has gotten on your nerves this time?"

The leader of the group, a large man with a dragon tattoo stretching over his shoulder, wore a savage grin.

Clearly, they were well-practiced in this sort of work.

Seeing Qin Tuo’s lack of expression, Qian Xuanyu assumed he was scared stiff and let out a smug laugh.

"Kid, I’ll give you one last chance. Get on your knees, kowtow to me three times, and admit you were wrong. Otherwise, you’ll be leaving this place horizontally!"

Qin Tuo’s face, however, was a mask of utter disdain.

"So what if you have more men? Does that mean you don’t have to pay what you owe? Life doesn’t work that way!"

Seeing how stubborn Qin Tuo was, acting as if he had a death wish, the brawny men all started to laugh.

They knew they had some work to do today!

Zhang Xiaoqian sneered.

"This kid really has a death wish!"

With an indifferent expression, Qian Xuanyu casually flicked his fingers.

"Rough him up good, then toss him out onto the main road!"

He said it so casually, as if it were the most trivial, everyday occurrence.

Clearly, this was something they had done many times before.

The group of brawny men roared in agreement and lunged, cruel smiles plastered on their faces.
