Chapter 77: Chapter 77: An Idiot

Early the next morning, Han Zilin, all dolled up, first went to Qin Tuo’s house.

"Mom, Dad, I’m heading to work!"

Qin Tuo called out as he walked out the door.

Seeing Qin Tuo leaving with Han Zilin, Qin Hongguo and Luo Xianglan’s faces were filled with relief and satisfaction.

"Look, dear," Luo Xianglan couldn’t help but laugh. "The two of them are getting along so well. Our son is just too shy!"

The two arrived at the company. The moment they stepped into the sales department office, they were a little surprised.

"Oh, Brother Tu, what’s going on? There’s no one here."

Han Zilin looked completely astonished.

It was her first day, and she hadn’t expected to be greeted by such a strange sight.

Qin Tuo checked the time. It was already the start of the workday, yet the entire office was empty.

He thought for a moment and understood.

’These guys must have pulled an all-nighter yesterday. They probably haven’t even gotten out of bed yet!’

"Zilin, why don’t you have a seat and look around for a bit? Get familiar with the place."

Qin Tuo said with a smile.

"Okay, Brother Tu!"

Han Zilin nodded. It was her first time in such a large company, and she was incredibly curious about everything.

Just then, General Manager Zhang Cheng walked in.

"Hmm? What’s the situation here?"

Zhang Cheng’s expression froze.

"Manager Zhang."

Qin Tuo greeted him.

Zhang Cheng frowned and asked,

"Qin Tuo, why are you two the only ones in the entire sales department? Where is everyone else?"

Qin Tuo replied,

"They might have partied a little too hard last night and overslept!"

"What? The whole group overslept? That’s ridiculous."

Zhang Cheng was about to fly into a rage.

But seeing Han Zilin next to Qin Tuo, he was a bit puzzled.

"Who is she?"

Qin Tuo introduced her,

"This is Han Zilin, my younger sister. She’s about to graduate, so I brought her to the company for an interview today."

"Oh, so she’s your sister!"

Zhang Cheng nodded, but he was sneering inwardly.

’Heh, he dares to lie to me? What sister!’

As it turned out, Zhang Cheng had secretly done a thorough background check on Qin Tuo. He knew Qin Tuo was an only child and didn’t have a sister at all.

He saw Han Zilin standing intimately close to Qin Tuo.

Han Zilin, in particular, couldn’t hide the affection in her eyes as she looked at Qin Tuo...

Zhang Cheng was certain their relationship wasn’t that simple!

’Excellent! The young master’s task will probably be completed very soon!’

Zhang Cheng thought smugly.

"Manager Zhang?"

Seeing that Zhang Cheng seemed lost in thought, Qin Tuo prompted him.

Zhang Cheng snapped back to reality and smiled.

"Alright then. Come with me, I’ll take you to handle the onboarding paperwork."

Qin Tuo was a bit surprised. Could Han Zilin be hired directly without even an interview?

Han Zilin herself hadn’t expected getting into this company to be so much smoother than she’d imagined.

Qin Tuo didn’t overthink it. He quickly said his thanks, then gave Han Zilin a reassuring glance.

Seeing Qin Tuo’s look, Han Zilin felt relieved and timidly followed Zhang Cheng.

Qin Tuo sat down and picked up some sales records to look at.

A short while later, the sales department staff trickled into the office one by one.

"Huh? Qin Tuo, you’re here so early?"

A salesperson said, looking at Qin Tuo with some surprise.

Only then did they remember that Qin Tuo hadn’t stayed with them until the very end last night.

Everyone was shaking their heads and looked groggy, clearly not fully awake yet.

Some sat down and started chatting excitedly, letting out loud laughs.

Just then, Wang Lei walked in, his face dark and gloomy.

"Hey, look! The boss’s expression doesn’t look right!"

someone whispered.

Wang Lei scanned the room, his gaze finally landing on Qin Tuo before he strode directly over.

"Qin Tuo, this is all your fault! If you hadn’t invited us out for karaoke yesterday, would we be in this mess?"

Qin Tuo gave a humorless laugh.

Nearby, someone asked,

"Boss, what happened?"

Wang Lei said furiously,

"When I just came in, HR warned me that everyone in the entire sales department was late, except for Qin Tuo."

"Ah! Boss, we’re not going to be fired, are we?"

Every salesperson’s face instantly filled with misery.

Wang Lei snorted coldly.

"Not fired, but everyone’s bonus for this month is getting cut in half!"

"It’s over, it’s over. This is a huge loss."

Everyone slumped limply into their chairs.

Losing half a month’s bonus for one night out? That’s too steep a price!

"This is all Qin Tuo’s fault. Why did he have to treat us!"

"Exactly! If it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t have stayed out all night, and we wouldn’t have been late and had our bonuses docked today."

One by one, they started blaming everyone but themselves, forcing all the fault onto Qin Tuo.

Wang Lei was so angry he cursed.

"Qin Tuo, you damn jinx! You really screwed me over!"

Qin Tuo finally couldn’t take it anymore and stood up to retort,

"What the hell does that have to do with me? If you can’t take a crap, do you blame the Earth for not having enough gravity?"

Wang Lei was stunned. He never expected Qin Tuo would dare to talk back.

He began to curse loudly.

"Qin Tuo, you little bastard! How dare you speak to me like that?"

Seeing Qin Tuo actually fighting with Wang Lei, the others watched with schadenfreude.

Just then, Han Zilin walked back in.

She was completely bewildered, having no idea why everyone was arguing.

The moment he saw Han Zilin, Wang Lei remembered. Wasn’t this the girl from yesterday?

He recalled that Qin Tuo wanted to get Han Zilin into the sales department.

Instantly, Wang Lei sneered, pointing a finger at Han Zilin’s face.

"Hey, kid! Tell your boyfriend to apologize to me, or I won’t let you start work today!"

Han Zilin’s expression tightened, and she was just about to say a few good words on Qin Tuo’s behalf.

But Qin Tuo just laughed and cursed,

"Idiot!"

Wang Lei was instantly furious.

Already in a foul mood, he was completely set off by Qin Tuo.

"You’re both finished! I’m going to make sure you both get kicked out of this company! You want to work here? In your dreams!"

Even the good-tempered Han Zilin was getting angry now. She waved her brand-new work ID at Wang Lei.

"Oh, I’m sorry, but I won’t need to trouble you with my onboarding. President Zhang has already taken care of my hiring paperwork."

As she spoke, she and Qin Tuo exchanged a knowing smile.

Wang Lei’s eyes widened. Everyone else in the office was also confused.

How did this girl get her onboarding done so quickly?

Wang Lei was especially bewildered.

’This isn’t right. Didn’t President Zhang say he was going to make things difficult for Qin Tuo? Why is he helping the kid at every turn? What’s going on?’

He couldn’t figure out the situation, so his face flushed and paled as he grumbled,

"Don’t get carried away, Qin Tuo. If you don’t make any progress on your work today, your whole team will go down with you!"
