Chapter 49: Chapter 49: I Don’t Know Him

Stepping into the business club, Qin Tuo clearly saw Han Zilin in the lobby.

She was surrounded by a group of girls around her age.

The girls were constantly talking and laughing, while Han Zilin appeared exceptionally silent.

Qin Tuo was about to go up and greet her, but Han Zilin and the other girls ducked directly into a nearby changing room.

Qin Tuo prepared to follow them in, but a staff member in a suit hurried over to block his path.

"Sir, you can’t go in there!"

Qin Tuo froze, only then noticing it was the women’s changing room.

So, not wanting to cause trouble, he sat down on a chair in the lobby and waited.

After a short while, Han Zilin and the group of girls came out of the changing room.

The girls were chatting and teasing each other, letting out suggestive laughs from time to time.

"Whoa, Zilin, I didn’t expect you to look like such a little vixen in that outfit. It’s so seductive, isn’t it?"

A punkish-looking girl’s eyes lit up as she stared at Han Zilin.

Han Zilin was now wearing a sizzling, sexy outfit, complete with a bunny girl headband, but her expression was extremely unnatural.

"Y-You guys, stop making fun of me. This is my first time wearing something like this..."

Han Zilin’s voice stammered, and her face turned crimson.

Another provocative-looking girl burst out laughing.

"Haha, it’s okay, Zilin. Everyone has a first time. You’ll get used to it. Besides, we’re all jealous of your figure. If I were a guy, you’d have stolen my soul by now."

The security guards at the club’s entrance couldn’t help but swallow hard as they watched the group of girls.

But Qin Tuo’s gaze turned to one of utter disbelief.

’Is this Han Zilin?’

His expression instantly darkened.

In the past, Han Zilin had been a good little girl who followed him around everywhere. As a child, she would blush just from saying a single word to a boy.

’How did she end up like this?’

But Qin Tuo was far too familiar with Han Zilin’s appearance. He was absolutely certain it was her.

"Alright, girls, let’s head upstairs!"

A staff member urged them on with a blank expression, but his eyes secretly lingered intensely on a certain part of Han Zilin’s body.

Just as the group of girls was about to crowd toward the elevator, Qin Tuo strode forward and grabbed Han Zilin’s wrist.

"Ah! What are you doing!"

Han Zilin jumped in fright.

A group of staff members immediately closed in, and the security guards at the door quickly picked up their batons.

"What do you think you’re doing, kid? Get your filthy hands off her, now!"

The staff member snapped.

Han Zilin looked up, her expression frozen, her beautiful eyes widening.

"Tuo... Brother Tu? Is that you? You’re out?"

Qin Tuo’s face was grim as he pulled Han Zilin’s arm and started walking toward the exit.

"You’re leaving with me. We’ll talk after," Qin Tuo said in a low voice.

SWOOSH!

The security guards rushed forward to block him.

Behind them, the group of girls started chattering, speculating about Qin Tuo’s identity.

"Kid, are you trying to cause trouble here? I suggest you get the hell out right now, and we can pretend this never happened," the security captain threatened, his face dark.

Qin Tuo coldly spat out a single word.

"Scram!"

His mood had turned utterly foul, and he didn’t want to waste any more time with useless talk.

If it were people who knew him, they would never have dared to block his path at this moment.

But clearly, the security guards before him were not among them.

"Heh, causing trouble in our territory and you dare to tell us to scram? If we don’t teach you a lesson today, you’ll never learn what kind of place this is!"

The guards were clearly a shady bunch. They rolled up their sleeves and lunged forward with savage grins on their faces.

Qin Tuo kept one hand gripping Han Zilin’s arm while he clenched the other into a fist and threw several quick punches.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

A series of dull thuds echoed out. Before the guards could even react, they were struck and collapsed to the ground.

"Owww..."

The crowd of girls and staff members were all stunned.

’How did he even attack just now? We couldn’t even see it clearly!’

Han Zilin’s beautiful eyes also went wide. ’When did Brother Tu get so skilled?’

"Stop right there!"

Suddenly, a cold woman’s voice called out from upstairs.

Qin Tuo turned to look, his brows furrowing.

A middle-aged woman, heavily made-up and dressed gaudily, was slowly descending the stairs.

The moment she appeared, all the staff members quickly gathered around her.

The middle-aged woman, unhurried, gave a casual wave of her hand.

Instantly, more security guards ran over from a distance, completely surrounding Qin Tuo.

The middle-aged woman snorted coldly.

"What in the world is going on here?"

As she spoke, she stared coldly at Han Zilin.

Han Zilin snapped to her senses, violently shook off Qin Tuo’s hand, and stood to the side like a child who had done something wrong.

The middle-aged woman interrogated him in a hostile tone:

"Kid, who are you?"

Just as Qin Tuo was about to explain, Han Zilin’s heart tightened, and she quickly interjected.

"Sister Juan, I don’t know him! I have no idea where he came from. Please, just make him leave!"

Han Zilin’s heart felt as if it were bleeding.

’I’m so sorry, Brother Tu... Sister Juan and her people are ruthless. You’re no match for them. I can... only lie.’

"Hmph. Zilin, don’t let there be a next time. Remember that!"

The middle-aged woman, Liu Juan, snorted coldly and shot Qin Tuo a warning glare.

The group prepared to leave in the elevator.

"Zilin!"

Qin Tuo shouted and rushed after them.

"Stop him!"

Liu Juan was furious now, her voice becoming incredibly shrill.

The crowd of security guards instantly swarmed him again, batons in hand, staring warily at Qin Tuo.

"Get lost, kid. Don’t force our hand!"

Qin Tuo narrowed his eyes, a glint of cold light flashing within them.

In the next moment, he intended to strike and take down all of these guards!

At that moment, however, Han Zilin turned her head and gave Qin Tuo a look from afar.

Seeing that look, Qin Tuo’s heart skipped a beat!

In it, there was grievance, longing, and bitterness...

Qin Tuo instantly understood. Han Zilin’s attempt to distance herself from him was, in its own way, an attempt to protect them both.

He let out a long sigh and turned to leave, a lonely figure.

Only after Qin Tuo had left did the roomful of security guards breathe a collective sigh of relief.

"Dammit, that kid is too strong! Where the hell did he come from?"

The security captain cursed, rubbing his chest.

Once in the elevator, the group of girls who had been laughing and talking earlier were all unusually silent, still absorbed in the scene that had just unfolded.

Looking at Han Zilin’s devastated expression, Liu Juan knew exactly what was going on.

She had seen a lot in her time. Based on past experience, she could tell with a single glance that Qin Tuo and Han Zilin definitely knew each other.

Things like this happened all the time!

Liu Juan began to lecture her earnestly:

"Zilin, you’re young. You need to seize this opportunity and work hard now, because you won’t get another chance when you’re old. Your chance is right here. You might even be able to pay off that massive online debt of yours in one go!"

Han Zilin snapped her head up, her face a picture of bewilderment.

"Sister Juan, are you serious?"
