Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Mother
In the very next moment, Qin Tuo suddenly felt a sharp pain in his palm.
He looked down and was surprised to see that the center of his palm had actually split open, an invisible force having sliced a small gash into it!
’What? Is this jade really that sharp?’
Qin Tuo was stunned for a moment, unable to process what had happened.
Then, Qin Tuo’s blood began to pour frantically into the warm jade in his hand.
The once emerald-green jade turned a shocking blood-red.
This astonishing scene made Qin Tuo’s face pale with shock!
He snapped back to his senses and immediately tried to fling the blood jade from his hand.
However, after a forceful shake, he found his hand wouldn’t move. His entire body had become incredibly stiff, unable to budge in the slightest.
’Damn it, what the hell is going on?’
Qin Tuo desperately tried to mobilize the Spiritual Power in his body, wanting to break through the obstruction.
But it was all in vain.
Qin Tuo could clearly feel a peculiar power slowly erupting from within the blood jade.
CRACK!
Suddenly, right before his eyes, the blood jade shattered completely.
It was as if a sky full of fresh blood flooded Qin Tuo’s vision, turning the entire world crimson!
The next second, Qin Tuo felt as though he had arrived in another world.
It was a void-like spiritual world where everything seemed so unfamiliar.
Qin Tuo raised his head and looked around curiously.
In this world, a series of images suddenly flashed before his eyes...
’Hm? What’s that?’
Qin Tuo’s eyes narrowed as he peered into the distance.
He discovered the images were incredibly bloody—countless mountains of corpses and seas of blood rose and fell in the distance.
A tragic aura spread from his heart. The world was like a living hell, with bodies strewn everywhere, filling one with despair.
Even though Qin Tuo’s mental fortitude far surpassed that of an ordinary person, he couldn’t help but feel his scalp tingle and his body stiffen upon seeing these scenes.
’No, what is all this? I have to find out!’
Qin Tuo gritted his teeth, a roar rising from his throat.
He desperately widened his eyes, trying to see the images clearly.
But in that instant, the scene before him shattered completely once again.
This utterly absurd scene drove Qin Tuo to the brink of despair!
He just wanted to escape this world at once, having an acute premonition that if he stayed any longer, something terrible would happen.
But just as Qin Tuo was growing frantic, a figure suddenly appeared before him!
Although Qin Tuo couldn’t see clearly, he could sense it was an exquisitely beautiful figure, walking toward him step by step.
All Qin Tuo could tell was that this person wore a white, ancient-style dress and was surrounded by a hazy aura. She looked like a fairy descended to the mortal world, taking one’s breath away.
’Who is this?’
Qin Tuo was instinctively puzzled.
And what surprised him most was that upon seeing this figure, an innate sense of familiarity suddenly sprouted in his heart.
Soon, the female figure arrived in front of Qin Tuo, but it was still impossible to see her true face.
A layer of white mist swirled around the woman’s face, seemingly capable of blocking any probe by Spiritual Power.
Before Qin Tuo could speak, the female figure spoke first.
"My son, you’re still alive in this world! This is wonderful! I’m so happy!"
The woman sounded extremely emotional, clearly not having expected Qin Tuo to still be alive.
Qin Tuo immediately felt something was strange and couldn’t help but ask:
"Oh? And who are you?"
The woman forcibly suppressed her excitement and said seriously:
"I am your birth mother, son!"
’What! My mother?’
Qin Tuo’s mind was in turmoil.
’The mother he had been agonizing over was right here before him?’
After snapping out of his shock, Qin Tuo immediately asked, his voice filled with resentment:
"Are you my mother? Then why did you abandon me?"
His voice was already losing control, a clear sign of the deep resentment buried in his heart.
The woman couldn’t help but begin to sob, overcome with boundless guilt.
"My son, you don’t understand. I only wanted you to live the life of an ordinary person, to live peacefully in this world. Otherwise... they would have surely killed you!"
Her voice was filled with guilt and helplessness, but more than anything, heartbreak.
But Qin Tuo just slowly shook his head and asked:
"They? Who are ’they’?"
Qin Tuo vaguely guessed that these were the people who had caused his parents to abandon him, a truth he was only now beginning to understand.
The woman struggled to open her mouth, wanting to explain.
"Son, they are..."
But as she spoke, her entire body suddenly became infinitely ethereal, her figure gradually fading.
The woman instantly grew frantic and shouted in a hurry:
"Son, I don’t have much time left! You must remember my next words!"
Qin Tuo’s eyes widened. At this critical moment, he had no time for more questions and could only nod heavily.
The woman immediately instructed:
"Remember this: from now on, never set foot on the path of cultivation again, and do not, under any circumstances, step onto Peach Blossom Island! You must remember!"
After saying this, the woman’s figure dissipated completely, turning into mist and vanishing without a trace.
Qin Tuo was stunned at first, then shouted frantically:
"Don’t go! Explain everything!"
Qin Tuo was filled with frustration. It felt as if he had grasped some vital information, yet at the same time, it felt like he knew nothing at all.
He gripped his hair tightly with both hands, his heart filled with overwhelming frustration!
But just then, the world suddenly spun, and soon Qin Tuo was back in reality.
Qin Tuo looked at the blood jade in his hand, which had now turned to dust, as if none of it had ever happened.
However, the events that had just transpired were deeply etched into his mind; he couldn’t deceive anyone, least of all himself.
’Who was that woman? Could she really be my birth mother?’
Qin Tuo silently questioned himself.
He also had another huge question: why had the old madman told him to go to Peach Blossom Island before the Mid-Autumn Festival, saying a great opportunity awaited him there?
And yet the woman who had just claimed to be his mother told him he absolutely must not go to Peach Blossom Island?
Their words were completely contradictory. Who was Qin Tuo supposed to believe?
That night, Qin Tuo couldn’t sleep.
He sat on his bed with vacant eyes, lost in bitter meditation all night until the sky brightened at dawn.
And still, Qin Tuo’s mind was a chaotic mess, unable to figure out what he should do.
