Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Living Together
However, a look of disgust appeared on Qin Tuo’s face, and he quickly took two steps back.
As a result, Xu Min’s foot slipped, and she fell flat on her face, eating dirt!
But Xu Min didn’t cry out in pain. She scrambled back to her feet, her face a mask of profound grief.
"Qin Tuo, Zhao Peng made me do all those things in the past! It wasn’t what I really wanted—he forced me!"
Xu Min added, trying to explain.
Qin Tuo couldn’t believe how shameless Xu Min was, coming back to beg him after everything.
He let out a cold laugh and said,
"Oh, really? I seem to recall you hating me even more than Zhao Peng did."
Xu Min’s face went pale. Then, in a tone of utter remorse, she confessed,
"That’s not true, Qin Tuo! The truth is, I’ve always had feelings for you. I was just being foolish back then, my judgment clouded, but I see things clearly now. You’re the one I’ve always loved!"
Qin Tuo shook his head, the contempt in his eyes perfectly clear.
Seeing Qin Tuo’s silence, Xu Min’s heart leaped. ’I’ve got a chance!’ she thought, and immediately pressed her attack.
"Qin Tuo, do you know how often I think about all our wonderful memories? You were about to marry me. We were going to walk down the aisle and grow old together. And now I’m back, waiting for you to make me your wife!"
Watching Xu Min’s lovesick, delusional expression, Qin Tuo felt an urge to vomit.
"Xu Min, let me be frank. I have absolutely no interest in a woman like you. You should leave now, before I have security throw you out."
Qin Tuo’s words were ice-cold, devoid of any emotion.
But Xu Min wasn’t ready to give up. She had figured things out now: the Zhao Family was a dead end, and Zhao Peng had cast her aside.
On the other hand, she was seeing a new side of Qin Tuo, realizing he now had powerful connections.
And though she didn’t know the reason for his sudden rise, it didn’t stop her from shamelessly trying to get back together with him.
So, Xu Min stubbornly persisted,
"But Qin Tuo, I still love you! Can you really bear to see me ruined in Zhao Peng’s clutches? Didn’t you once promise you’d always protect me?"
Xu Min said, her voice choked with tears as she enunciated each word.
To an outsider, she would have looked like the real victim.
But Qin Tuo was growing impatient. He was all too familiar with her vile character and knew she had only come to him out of desperation.
Her only goal was to continue living a life of luxury.
If he were still down on his luck, she wouldn’t have given him a second glance.
So, Qin Tuo waved directly to the security guards.
The guards in the distance saw his gesture and hurried over, bowing obsequiously.
Xu Min panicked when she saw the guards approaching.
She immediately seized the moment, frantically playing the emotional card again.
"Qin Tuo, I’ve met your parents! They thought very highly of me. Aren’t you even going to consider their wishes?"
Qin Tuo’s brow furrowed deeply, and he was about to rebuke her.
Just then, Chen Man Ni, who had been standing to the side, couldn’t hold back any longer and stepped forward.
"Get this straight, Xu Min. I’m Qin Tuo’s real girlfriend now. As for you, you’re nothing but a bitch who’s blind as a bat!"
"What! You’re Qin Tuo’s real girlfriend?"
Xu Min was stunned. Her eyes grew wide as she stared at Chen Man Ni.
In the past, she would never have dared to challenge a wealthy heiress like Chen Man Ni.
But now, she had completely lost it.
"Chen Man Ni, Qin Tuo is my man! What gives you the right to steal him from me?"
Xu Min looked completely unhinged, her expression turning ferocious.
But Chen Man Ni wasn’t the least bit intimidated. She retorted sarcastically,
"Your man? Don’t make me laugh! It’s your own fault for being too blind to see what you had. But then again, I should thank you. If you hadn’t shown your trashy true colors, I never would have gotten to meet a wonderful boyfriend like Qin Tuo!"
As she spoke, Chen Man Ni deliberately linked her arm through Qin Tuo’s, putting on a display of sweet intimacy.
Seeing them together like that, the flames of jealousy burned wildly in Xu Min’s heart.
Chen Man Ni then added with a deliberate laugh,
"Besides, his parents already approve of me. They already treat me like a daughter-in-law. As for you, you can just get lost. In short, don’t ever bother my boyfriend again!"
At this, Xu Min fell into utter despair. She gritted her teeth so hard they audibly clicked, and her face turned deathly pale.
She opened her mouth to say something more, but the guards were already upon her, their faces grim.
"Miss, you are disturbing a valued resident of Half Moon Bay. Please leave at once, or we will be forced to remove you."
Seeing that Xu Min wasn’t moving, the guards snorted.
"In that case, don’t blame us for getting rough."
With that, the guards grabbed Xu Min and began dragging her away.
"Let go of me! You watchdogs, let me go!"
Xu Min shrieked hysterically, flushed with anger and shame.
Watching her, Qin Tuo felt not a shred of pity.
Chen Man Ni, for her part, felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
She knew all too well how much pain Xu Min had once brought upon the Qin Family.
Neither of them gave the incident a second thought as they walked hand-in-hand into the villa complex, talking and laughing.
They didn’t let go of each other’s hands until they were standing right outside the villa.
Just as the door opened, Luo Xianglan saw the intimate sight of Qin Tuo and Chen Man Ni together, and her face bloomed into a wide smile.
"Haha, the kids are back! Hurry up and come inside!"
Qin Hongguo hurried over, asking with concern,
"Have you two eaten dinner yet? Are you hungry? I can go make you something!"
The two of them hadn’t eaten dinner at Taixu Temple; they had come straight down the mountain.
Having cultivated the Spell from the Celestial King Order, Qin Tuo now possessed Spiritual Qi and could withstand hunger far better than an ordinary person.
Chen Man Ni, however, was starving, and her stomach was growling loudly.
Qin Tuo smiled and said,
"Mom, Dad, we haven’t eaten dinner yet!"
Qin Hongguo nodded again and again.
"Alright, you two sit tight. I’ll go make your favorite dishes right away."
Feeling the warm family atmosphere, Chen Man Ni felt even more grateful to have met a good man like Qin Tuo.
Suddenly, on an impulse, she couldn’t help but blurt out,
"Qin Tuo, what if... I moved in here with you?"
The moment the words left her mouth, a delighted sparkle lit up Luo Xianglan’s eyes.
"Oh, that’s wonderful! Manni, you should move in as soon as possible! We’d love to have you, haha!"
Luo Xianglan laughed happily. ’This way,’ she thought, ’I’ll be able to hold my grandchildren that much sooner.’
