Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Slaying the Traitor
After hearing Qin Tuo’s words, everyone was stunned for a moment before they all burst out laughing.
Zhang Huan’s face, however, turned ashen with embarrassment and rage.
Suddenly, Zhang Huan threatened viciously,
"Brat, if you kill me, the patriarch of Extinction Valley won’t spare you!"
At his words, the expressions on everyone’s faces changed instantly.
The hearts of Daoist Chongxu and Daoist Chi Xu both skipped a beat.
"Mr. Qin, that Elder Extinction is incredibly powerful. You have to be careful!"
Daoist Chongxu couldn’t help but whisper a reminder.
Seeing Qin Tuo remain silent, Zhang Huan assumed he was scared and sneered.
"Brat, you know fear now, don’t you? Let’s see you try and stop me again!"
Qin Tuo, however, just shook his head and smiled, paying Zhang Huan’s words no mind whatsoever.
"How ridiculous! To think you could use your patriarch’s name to intimidate me. Let me tell you, I wouldn’t be afraid even if he were standing right in front of me!"
His words were incredibly domineering, completely extinguishing the last trace of hope in Zhang Huan’s heart.
Zhang Huan glared venomously at Qin Tuo, his eyes filled with bitter resentment.
"Brat, do you really insist on a fight to the death?"
Qin Tuo said mockingly,
"’A fight to the death?’ Do you even have that kind of power? In my presence, you can only be utterly crushed!"
Suddenly, Zhang Huan let out a deafening roar that nearly shattered everyone’s eardrums.
In a last-ditch effort, Zhang Huan suddenly hurled the Purple Gold Gourd in his hand forward.
The Purple Gold Gourd, guided by a Spell, seemed to take on a life of its own as it hurtled viciously toward Qin Tuo’s head.
Zhang Huan himself, meanwhile, immediately turned to run!
As the Purple Gold Gourd came flying, everyone cried out in alarm.
But the next moment, Qin Tuo showed no fear at all. He casually reached out and caught the Purple Gold Gourd in a firm grip.
The Purple Gold Gourd vibrated violently for a moment, then went still.
Seeing this, Daoist Chongxu quickly called out a reminder.
"Mr. Qin, that brat Zhang Huan has run off!"
By now, Zhang Huan had already fled outside the temple; it was clearly too late to give chase.
Both Daoist Chongxu and Daoist Chi Xu shook their heads, their expressions filled with regret.
Daoist Chi Xu, his face etched with worry, added,
"That traitor Zhang Huan... now that he’s escaped, he’ll definitely be back for revenge!"
Both Daoists thought about it: if Zhang Huan brought back his traitorous master, or even Elder Extinction, Taixu Temple would likely be razed to the ground.
Qin Tuo saw their concern and said with a cold smirk,
"Don’t worry. He won’t get away."
The words had barely left his lips when he shot out of the temple at an incredible speed.
The group was stunned, looking as if they had just seen a ghost.
Daoist Chongxu and Daoist Chi Xu were cultivators themselves, yet they had never seen anyone move as fast as Qin Tuo!
In no time, Qin Tuo was outside the temple and had already caught up to Zhang Huan.
Zhang Huan had thought he’d successfully escaped, but when he glanced back, he was shocked to see Qin Tuo right behind him.
"Brat, how are you so fast?"
Zhang Huan blurted out instinctively.
Qin Tuo, however, just gave a cold laugh. Ignoring the question, he shot a hand out and clamped it onto Zhang Huan’s shoulder.
"You bastard, go to hell!"
Zhang Huan whipped out a dagger and viciously stabbed at Qin Tuo’s heart.
But in the next instant, he felt an immense power erupt from Qin Tuo’s palm.
His entire body instantly went numb, and he found he couldn’t muster an ounce of strength.
"Hmph. And you thought you could escape from me?"
Qin Tuo snorted disdainfully, grabbed Zhang Huan, and turned to walk back into the main hall.
Seeing that Qin Tuo had actually caught Zhang Huan and brought him back, no one could believe their eyes.
"Oh my god, Qin Tuo, how did you do that? You actually brought him back!"
Chen Man Ni asked in disbelief.
Qin Tuo tossed Zhang Huan heavily onto the floor.
Just now, he had even used his Spiritual Power to invade Zhang Huan’s body and damage his meridians.
So now, Zhang Huan was completely incapable of resisting.
Realizing the situation was hopeless, Zhang Huan immediately broke down and began to wail.
"Spare me! I really know I was wrong! Please, I beg you, spare my life!"
Seeing the cold expressions on everyone’s faces, a chill ran through Zhang Huan’s heart.
The thought of his impending fate scared him witless, and he scrambled to kowtow desperately to Daoist Chi Xu and Daoist Chongxu.
"Eldest Martial Uncle, Second Martial Uncle, I was only led astray! For the sake of the fact that I was once your martial nephew, please, put in a good word for me! Let me live!"
Seeing his tearful, sniveling face, the two Daoists simply turned their heads away, unwilling to even spare him a glance.
THUD!
Zhang Huan collapsed to the floor, his hair disheveled. He knew he was finished.
No one paid him any more mind. When they looked at him, it was as if they were looking at a dead man.
Qin Tuo walked over slowly, his face devoid of expression.
Zhang Huan, about to piss himself in terror, let out a desperate howl.
"Stay back! Stay right where you are!"
A cold, indifferent light in his eyes, Qin Tuo said slowly,
"Zhang Huan, this end you’ve met is exactly what you deserve."
As he finished speaking, Chen Man Ni and the others quickly turned their heads, unable to watch what would happen next.
There was a dull thud, and Zhang Huan’s body slumped lifelessly to the ground.
To Qin Tuo, killing Zhang Huan seemed as trivial as swatting a fly.
Daoist Chongxu walked over and gave Qin Tuo a deep, solemn bow.
Qin Tuo shook his head.
"Daoist Chongxu, there’s no need for that."
His face filled with gratitude, Daoist Chongxu said,
"Mr. Qin, thank you. If not for you, Taixu Temple would have been in danger of being destroyed today. Thank you, also, for helping our sect purge a traitor!"
Daoist Chi Xu, standing nearby, was still too proud to do the same and remained motionless.
His old face, however, was tinged with shame, and he didn’t dare to look Qin Tuo in the eye.
Daoist Chongxu couldn’t help but ask,
"Mr. Qin, how is my daughter Xiaoyuan’s condition?"
At this, everyone listened intently, deeply concerned.
Qin Tuo said slowly,
"Xiaoyuan’s internal cold energy has dissipated. For now, her life is no longer in danger."
Hearing this, everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.
As for Xiaoyuan herself, a long-absent smile graced her face.
But Daoist Chongxu was still worried and couldn’t help but ask another question.
"Mr. Qin, her constitution is what it is. It might not be long before the cold energy in her body flares up again, and her life will be at risk..."
Looking at the helpless expression on Daoist Chongxu’s face, Qin Tuo laughed and said,
"Daoist Chongxu, you don’t need to be so worried. Xiaoyuan’s constitution is a once-in-a-century rarity. She might have a chance to walk the path of cultivation in the future. At that point, her Taiyin Body would be a supreme gift!"
