Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Poisoned

It was a woman who didn’t look all that old.

Her hair was a mess and her face was sallow. She sat there muttering to herself, as if she were possessed.

"Haha, don’t come over! Don’t grab me! I... I’m scared!"

Old Li’s wife sat in a corner with her legs splayed, alternating between frenzied screams and a deathly silence.

Seeing this, Old Li’s expression turned grim.

"Mr. Qin, you see... this is what my wife is like now..."

Ouyang Tianqi, standing to the side, let out a deep sigh.

Chen Man Ni couldn’t help but look on with an expression of deep sympathy.

"Qin Tuo, you have to help her. She’s in such a pitiful state!"

Qin Tuo nodded, then asked,

"Old Li, tell me what happened. How did all this start?"

Old Li slowly explained.

"It’s like this, Mr. Qin. Last month, my wife and I went to visit our son’s grave. After we came back, she became like this."

He had barely spoken a few words before murky tears began to stream down his face.

Wiping his tears, Old Li continued.

"At first, she would only have these episodes occasionally. Most of the time, she was normal. But now, she’s like this almost all day long."

Qin Tuo, however, was a bit taken aback and quickly asked,

"Oh? Visiting your son’s grave?"

Beside them, Ouyang Tianqi nodded and said with a pained expression,

"That’s right. The Li Family lost their son in their later years. He passed away in an accident a few years ago."

Hearing this, both Qin Tuo and Chen Man Ni shook their heads, feeling immense pity for the couple.

’It seems all the world’s misfortunes have befallen this one family,’ Qin Tuo thought.

Ouyang Tianqi added, recalling the details,

"Afterward, I introduced him to several good doctors. I even specially invited some renowned physicians from abroad, but nothing worked. In fact, her condition only grew more severe."

Qin Tuo nodded as he listened. Based on the circumstances, it was indeed possible that she had encountered something... unclean.

Ouyang Tianqi gave a bitter smile.

"That’s why I thought this probably wasn’t a simple illness. So, I decided to ask for your help, Mr. Qin, and have you come take a look."

As he spoke, his eyes filled with a deep, earnest plea, hoping Qin Tuo could lend a hand to the pitiful Li Family.

Listening from the side, Chen Man Ni’s eyes grew red.

Women are naturally empathetic, and she too hoped Qin Tuo would step in and cure Old Li’s wife.

Qin Tuo nodded reassuringly.

"Don’t worry, everything will be fine. Since I’ve agreed to help, I will absolutely see to it that she is cured."

Hearing this, Old Li was so moved that he immediately tried to kneel and kowtow to Qin Tuo.

"What are you doing? Please don’t, you really mustn’t..."

Qin Tuo quickly stepped aside and helped Old Li to his feet.

After all, Old Li was old enough to be his elder.

Plus, given his connection to Ouyang Tianqi, he absolutely could not accept such a grand gesture.

Old Li said, his voice choked with tears,

"Mr. Qin, if you can cure my wife, I’ll do anything! I’ll work like an animal to repay you!"

Ouyang Tianqi quickly helped Old Li up and asked with concern,

"Mr. Qin, is her condition a case of ghost possession?"

Beside them, a frightened Chen Man Ni quickly shrank behind Qin Tuo.

She was curious, but being in this environment also made her feel a little afraid.

But Qin Tuo slowly shook his head and said gravely,

"It’s... hard to say."

’Hard to say?’

The others were very confused, not understanding what Qin Tuo meant.

In truth, based on his observations so far, Qin Tuo had already ruled out that possibility in his mind.

He couldn’t sense any ghostly presence attached to Old Li’s wife!

If there really were a ghost or some similar entity, the Spiritual Qi in his body would have surely reacted.

Furthermore, Qin Tuo’s ring was now vibrating faintly, as if there were some malevolent object somewhere in or around the house.

"Mr. Qin, then... what do you think we should do?"

Ouyang Tianqi asked cautiously, watching Qin Tuo’s expression.

Qin Tuo said slowly,

"Let me examine her first."

With that, he took out the Silver Needles he had prepared beforehand and moved to approach the woman.

Seeing Qin Tuo take out the Silver Needles and prepare to begin, Ouyang Tianqi’s eyes lit up with anticipation.

However, just as Qin Tuo got close, Old Li’s wife unexpectedly scrambled up from the floor and lunged at him!

She looked completely crazed. With her hair disheveled and her eyes bloodshot, she tried to bite Qin Tuo’s neck.

"Don’t do it!"

Ouyang Tianqi cried out in alarm, and Old Li stomped his feet in a panic.

But by then, it was already too late for them to intervene.

Qin Tuo remained perfectly calm. He quickly took out a Silver Needle and, seizing the opportunity, plunged it directly into an acupoint on the woman’s forehead.

As soon as the Silver Needle entered the acupoint, the woman’s eyes rolled back in her head and she collapsed, unconscious.

This gave Old Li a huge fright, and he rushed forward.

"Mr. Qin, what’s wrong with my wife?"

He quickly knelt and tried to prop his wife up.

But he found that no matter what he did, she didn’t react at all.

Old Li looked up, his eyes filled with despair and a hint of madness!

"Damn you! You killed my wife! I... I’ll kill you!"

With that, he prepared to charge at Qin Tuo.

Ouyang Tianqi, being more experienced, knew at a glance what was happening.

He quickly held Old Li back, saying,

"Old Li, calm down! Mr. Qin is treating your wife!"

Qin Tuo showed no sign of offense. Instead, he nodded and explained,

"Don’t worry. Your wife has only fainted. She’ll be fine."

Only then did Old Li realize he had misunderstood Qin Tuo, and his face flushed red with shame.

"Mr. Qin, I’m sorry. I misjudged you..."

Old Li said, bowing his head in apology.

Qin Tuo didn’t seem to mind at all and began to take the woman’s pulse.

While taking her pulse, he even secretly channeled his Spiritual Power into her, but it had no effect whatsoever.

Qin Tuo’s brow furrowed slightly as a realization dawned on him.

Everyone else watched on nervously, not daring to even blink.

Qin Tuo then took out several more Silver Needles, inserting each into a different acupoint on the woman’s body.

After a moment, he yanked all the Silver Needles out at once.

SPURT!

Suddenly, the woman violently coughed up a large mouthful of black blood.

The sight stunned everyone. Old Li anxiously asked,

"Mr. Qin, what’s happening?"

Qin Tuo said in a grave voice,

"Your wife isn’t possessed, she’s been poisoned. And this is no ordinary poison!"

"What? Poisoned?"

The color drained from everyone’s faces. Old Li was so frightened his lips trembled, unable to form a word.

Qin Tuo quickly asked,

"Old Li, think back carefully. What has your wife eaten recently?"
