Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Showdown

Qin Tuo asked, suddenly curious:

"Oh? What does he want with me?"

Wang Lei shot him a glare.

"How should I know? But President Zhang didn’t look too happy. I doubt it’s anything good!"

As he spoke, he was secretly delighted, waiting to see Qin Tuo make a fool of himself.

Qin Tuo ignored Wang Lei and walked straight downstairs.

Watching Qin Tuo walk away, Wang Lei sneered inwardly.

’Looks like that kid must be in some kind of trouble, and Zhang Cheng has something on him. This is great. I don’t even have to lift a finger. He’s dead meat for sure!’

Qin Tuo went outside and saw Zhang Cheng waiting in his car.

"Is there something you need, President Zhang?"

Qin Tuo walked over and asked calmly.

Zhang Cheng took off his glasses and gestured casually with his hand.

"Qin Tuo, get in. You’re coming with me. Someone wants to see you."

"Oh? And who might that be, President Zhang?"

Qin Tuo asked with a frown.

Zhang Cheng said, a little displeased:

"Why are you asking so many damn questions? I told you to come with me, so come. Is my word not good enough for you anymore?"

Hearing this, Qin Tuo laughed and turned to walk away.

Zhang Cheng grew anxious. He was afraid he wouldn’t be able to complete his task, so he immediately shouted.

"Qin Tuo, get back here!"

Qin Tuo sneered.

"President Zhang, I came here to work, not to run your personal errands."

His words filled Zhang Cheng with rage.

But he could only force down his anger and squeeze out a smile.

"Qin Tuo, the truth is, a very important person asked for you. My tone just now was a bit harsh. Don’t take it to heart."

Hearing this, Qin Tuo finally nodded and chose to get in the car.

Zhang Cheng drove quickly, seemingly in a hurry.

Qin Tuo glanced at the rearview mirror, a suspicion already forming in his mind about who wanted to see him.

Sure enough, the car drove directly into the Half Moon Bay Villa District, then continued uphill to the high-end Upper Bay Area.

They stopped in front of a villa, and both Qin Tuo and Zhang Cheng got out.

"Let’s go, Qin Tuo. You’re about to meet this big shot!"

Zhang Cheng waved his hand, sneering inwardly.

’You stinking brat, now that you’re here, you’re not the one calling the shots anymore!’

Qin Tuo, however, remained expressionless as he followed Zhang Cheng into the villa.

When they entered the villa’s main hall, they saw a young man in casual clothes who had clearly been waiting for some time.

The man slowly turned around. Upon seeing Qin Tuo, his eyes narrowed slightly, and a cold smile appeared on his face.

This was Zheng Lin. He had specifically arranged for Zhang Cheng to bring Qin Tuo here because there were some things he wanted to say.

"So, you’re Qin Tuo?"

Zheng Lin’s tone was haughty, as if he were looking down from a great height.

Qin Tuo simply nodded, watching Zheng Lin quietly.

With his hands behind his back, Zheng Lin slowly said:

"Let me introduce myself. I’m Zheng Lin, the heir to the Zheng Family."

Qin Tuo replied:

"So it’s you. I’ve heard Manni mention your name before."

Zheng Lin chuckled dryly.

"Is that so? It seems Manni takes you quite seriously!"

The words were dripping with sarcasm, but Qin Tuo only smiled faintly.

Suddenly, a cold glint appeared in his eyes as he demanded:

"You’re the one who kicked my parents out, aren’t you?"

The moment these words were spoken, the atmosphere instantly froze.

But Zheng Lin didn’t even pretend, admitting it brazenly.

"That’s right! I did it, so what? Do people like your parents deserve to live in a high-end villa like this?"

"Despicable!"

Qin Tuo snorted in contempt.

Now that the words were out, Zheng Lin decided to drop the pretense completely.

"Qin Tuo, perhaps you don’t understand my family. Although the Zheng Family’s main businesses aren’t in Ming City, the Zheng and Chen families have a life-and-death bond. And even here in Ming City, the Zheng Family is not something an ordinary person like you can even compare to!"

Qin Tuo shot back a question.

"What are you really trying to say? Just get to the point."

"Good! Straight to it!"

Zheng Lin laughed heartily, a vicious glint appearing in his eyes.

"Kid, I’ll be blunt with you. I am the only one worthy of Chen Man Ni. As for you, the best thing you can do is obediently get the hell out of Ming City and disappear without a trace."

As he said this, Zheng Lin’s eyes were fixed on Qin Tuo, as if trying to discern his innermost thoughts.

Originally, Zheng Lin had thought that a nobody like Qin Tuo could be disposed of with minimal effort.

Even if he couldn’t get rid of him directly, he thought he could at least wound his pride and make him leave Chen Man Ni on his own accord.

But he never expected that Qin Tuo would manage to turn every crisis into a blessing, escaping each time.

The most infuriating part was that Zheng Lin had heard from inside the Chen Group that Qin Tuo would be taking over as the chairman of Mani Company next week.

This showed that even Chen Wenxiong thought highly of Qin Tuo!

That’s why Zheng Lin decided to stop playing games with Qin Tuo and just call him over for a showdown, hoping to make him back down in the face of difficulty.

"So, Qin Tuo, what’s your decision?"

Zheng Lin asked slowly, as if victory was already in his grasp.

But Qin Tuo suddenly said.

"Does Chen Man Ni know about this?"

Zheng Lin sneered.

"This is between us men. What does it have to do with Manni? Besides, so what if she knew? Do you really think she’s into you? You’re just a toy to her. Once she’s bored, she’ll kick you to the curb!"

Zheng Lin was frantically venting his resentment.

But to his surprise, Qin Tuo seemed completely unmoved.

"Kid, I’ve said so much to you. Did you hear a single word?!"

Zheng Lin was getting angry. Never in his life had a peer dared to adopt such a cold and indifferent posture in front of him.

However, Qin Tuo just shook his head and smiled with disdain.

This Zheng Lin was trying to show off his superiority, little knowing that everything he possessed was completely insignificant to Qin Tuo.

Qin Tuo had met more big shots than he could count; Zheng Lin didn’t even rank.

Finally, Qin Tuo stopped holding back and decided to be completely frank.

"Let me be frank with you, too. Ming City is my home, and I will never leave. As for Chen Man Ni, who she likes is her own business. It has nothing to do with either of us. You should save your breath!"

"What! Qin Tuo, you..."

Zheng Lin was furious and exasperated. He couldn’t believe that after all he’d said, Qin Tuo hadn’t taken any of it in.

Suddenly, Zheng Lin tried a different tactic, attempting to coax him.

"Qin Tuo, if you agree to leave Ming City, I can give you a fortune—an amount of wealth you could never touch in your lifetime. I can guarantee you’ll be set for life. How about it?"

Zhang Cheng, who was standing nearby, chimed in.

"Think carefully, Qin Tuo. Do you want to oppose Young Master Zheng and end up with no place to even be buried, or do you want to take the money and get lost?"

But when their words faded, the only response they received was Qin Tuo’s cold laughter.
