Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Decision

Qin Tuo said with a chuckle,

"Chairman Zeng, I presume a mere sales manager wouldn’t dare make decisions for you. Perhaps someone is backing him?"

As he spoke, he glanced at Zhao Peng with a cold smile.

Qin Tuo’s words had clearly pointed out the connection between Liu Qiang and Zhao Peng.

This immediately set Liu Qiang off, and he started cursing loudly.

"You brat! Mind your own damn business! This is our company’s internal affair. What gives an outsider like you the right to butt in?"

Unexpectedly, these words directly infuriated Zeng Fuchai.

In a fit of rage, Zeng Fuchai kicked Liu Qiang, knocking him to the ground!

"Chairman, please calm down!"

Liu Qiang scrambled up and begged for mercy, shaken to the core.

In all his years as a sales manager, it was the first time he had ever seen the mild-mannered Zeng Fuchai so furious.

Zeng Fuchai said furiously,

"Liu Qiang, get on your knees and apologize to Mr. Qin! Or I’ll make you pay dearly today!"

Liu Qiang shivered in fear.

’Ah, I have to kneel and apologize to this kid?’

At the side, Zhao Peng was so angry he nearly rolled his eyes back into his head.

Zeng Fuchai appeared to be disciplining Liu Qiang, but wasn’t he also putting Zhao Peng in his place?

But since Zeng Fuchai was the chairman disciplining a subordinate, he, Zhao Peng, couldn’t say a thing.

After a fierce internal struggle, Liu Qiang finally lowered his proud head.

"Mr. Qin, I was wrong. Please forgive my earlier transgression!"

After speaking, he squeezed his eyes shut.

When Zeng Fuchai saw that Qin Tuo’s expression hadn’t softened, he also hurried to apologize.

"Mr. Qin, this is my fault for my poor management. But rest assured, I will find out exactly who is backing this man!"

Hearing this, Zhao Peng, who was standing to the side, flared up.

He could, of course, tell that Zeng Fuchai’s words were aimed directly at him.

Zhao Peng said, fuming,

"Zeng Fuchai, you old fool! This Qin Tuo fellow is just an ex-convict! For you to grovel before someone like him is a complete disgrace!"

Zeng Fuchai just gave him a cold glance and said nothing.

’Heh, all you can do now is flail around a bit, Zhao Peng...’

Zeng Fuchai felt nothing but contempt for Zhao Peng.

He knew that by taking this stand today, he had hitched his wagon to Qin Tuo’s rising star.

With this, Qingmei Company would no longer have to bow to the Zhao Family.

"Zeng Fuchai, you’re not fit to be the chairman of Qingmei Company! You’ve completely disgraced the company! At the next board meeting, my Zhao Family will definitely move to impeach you!"

Zhao Peng grew more agitated as he spoke.

He planned to use the excuse of Zeng Fuchai bowing down to Qin Tuo to drag him from the chairman’s position.

However, Zeng Fuchai just said lightly,

"Young Master Zhao, do as you please. Whatever makes you happy!"

"You!"

Zhao Peng was so angry he almost stood up from his wheelchair.

In the past, Zeng Fuchai had always been subservient in his presence. He never expected Zeng’s attitude to change so drastically after he sided with Qin Tuo.

This filled Zhao Peng’s heart with immense fury.

Qin Tuo waved his hand dismissively, cutting Zhao Peng off.

"Alright, we can sign the contract now. Irrelevant people should not be disturbing us."

The meaning was clear: he was kicking them out.

Zeng Fuchai nodded and quickly said to his secretary,

"What are you standing there for? Didn’t you hear what Mr. Qin said?"

The secretary’s face immediately turned stern.

"Young Master Zhao, please leave."

Zhao Peng was livid. Not only had he failed to humiliate Qin Tuo, but he was the one getting kicked out.

He pointed at Zeng Fuchai’s nose and roared in frustration,

"You old bastard, just you wait! You’ll find out what happens when you cross the Zhao Family!"

Seeing Xu Min still frozen in place, Zhao Peng cursed,

"What are you still standing around for? Isn’t this humiliating enough?"

Xu Min finally snapped out of it, shot Qin Tuo a vicious glare, and pushed Zhao Peng out.

Once Zhao Peng and Xu Min left, Liu Qiang’s eyes darted about nervously.

Realizing that even Zhao Peng couldn’t get the upper hand with Zeng Fuchai, he finally understood the situation.

So, he hurriedly kowtowed and apologized.

"Chairman, Mr. Qin, this has nothing to do with me! It was all Zhao Peng—he used his status to force me! I beg you, Mr. Qin, you’re a bigger man than this, please give me another chance!"

Liu Qiang pleaded tearfully, hoping this display would allow him to escape his fate.

Qin Tuo gave him a cold look and waved his hand dismissively.

In Qin Tuo’s eyes, Liu Qiang was just a nobody. He couldn’t be bothered to argue with such a person.

Zeng Fuchai had originally intended to fire Liu Qiang, but seeing Qin Tuo’s reaction, he immediately understood.

"Get the hell out of here! You’re lucky Mr. Qin spared your pathetic life this time. If I ever catch you looking down on people again, I’ll kill you!"

Despite being cursed at, Liu Qiang was overjoyed and thanked them profusely.

"Thank you, Mr. Qin, for your magnanimity! I promise I will never make such a mistake again!"

He knew his position as manager was safe.

Liu Qiang remained bowed until he had backed out of the chairman’s office, only then daring to stand up straight.

Back in his own office, however, Liu Qiang was seething with anger.

"Bastards! They’re all a bunch of goddamn bastards! Acting all high and mighty just because they’re rich and powerful, using me for their own amusement!"

Liu Qiang vented the frustration bottled up inside him.

The only silver lining was that he’d kept his manager position; otherwise, he’d be packing his bags and leaving by now.

When he entered his office, he saw that Han Zilin hadn’t left. She was sitting to the side, her eyes full of tears, looking distracted.

Seeing this, a lecherous thought immediately sparked in Liu Qiang’s mind.

On top of the humiliation he had just suffered, he now felt a strong urge to take it all out on Han Zilin.

He cleared his throat and asked,

"Han Zilin, it’s been a while. Have you thought it over?"

Han Zilin looked up. There were faint traces of tears in her eyes, but her tone was firm.

"Give it up, Liu Qiang. I will never agree to such a request!"

She remembered how she had nearly stumbled before. If Qin Tuo hadn’t appeared in time to pull her back, she feared she would have already fallen into depravity.

So how could Han Zilin bear to let Qin Tuo be disappointed in her?

She had already made up her mind. If it came down to it, she would just quit with Qin Tuo.

As long as she could be by Qin Tuo’s side, she would be perfectly content.

After speaking, Han Zilin put on a determined expression, stood up, and walked out.
