Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Senior

"How’s work been lately, son?"

When they saw Qin Tuo come home, Qin Hongguo and his wife hurried over, their faces filled with concern.

"It’s been going well lately. Mom, Dad, you don’t need to worry about me."

Qin Tuo smiled, trying to ease his parents’ worries.

Even so, Qin Hongguo and his wife still fussed over him, asking about his well-being.

They also reminded him of the principles of how to conduct himself at the company.

Qin Tuo nodded repeatedly. He understood how his parents felt.

As parents, they just wanted their son’s career to get on the right track at his age, and for him to then start a family.

After a bit of nagging, Qin Hongguo and his wife went back to their room to sleep.

Seeing his parents had gone to bed, Qin Tuo returned to his room as well.

However, he didn’t go to sleep right away. Instead, he sat cross-legged on his bed and slowly began to cultivate.

He gently rubbed the Celestial King Order Ring and found that the Spiritual Power within it was almost depleted.

The Spiritual Power he had obtained from Ouyang Tianqi last time had already been converted into nourishment, revitalizing all the meridians in his body.

’I wonder if I can advance my cultivation further before going to Peach Blossom Island...’

Qin Tuo thought to himself.

But he also understood that this matter couldn’t be rushed.

The path of cultivation had to be taken one step at a time. Blindly seeking speed could very well lead to cultivation deviation.

Qin Tuo entered a meditative state, breathing slowly and rhythmically.

In such a hazy state, the night passed.

When he woke up in the morning, the first thing Qin Tuo felt was that the Spiritual Power in his body hadn’t increased by much.

He couldn’t help but shake his head and give a wry smile.

’Looks like the Spiritual Qi in this neighborhood is just too thin. It can’t compare to Half Moon Bay at all. This rate of progress is a bit too slow!’

Qin Tuo remembered that when he cultivated at Half Moon Bay, his speed was much faster than it was now.

With this in mind, Qin Tuo decided he had to find a way to move back to Half Moon Bay.

’I’ll talk to Mom and Dad tomorrow and try to win them over!’

Qin Tuo thought to himself.

He glanced at the time unintentionally and realized he was about to be late.

So he quickly got up, washed up, and drove to the company without even eating breakfast.

As soon as he walked into the sales department, he heard Wang Lei cursing someone out by name.

When he saw Qin Tuo walk in, Wang Lei’s eyes narrowed, and he immediately turned his attention to him.

"Qin Tuo, did you forget something today?"

Wang Lei asked with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.

Qin Tuo asked, puzzled,

"Oh? What is it?"

Wang Lei snorted coldly.

"Did you forget you’re supposed to sign a contract today?"

Only then did Qin Tuo feign a look of sudden realization.

"Oh, so that’s what you meant. If you hadn’t reminded me, I really would have forgotten!"

Seeing Qin Tuo’s completely unfazed attitude, Wang Lei was instantly furious.

’If he can’t get this contract signed later,’ he thought, ’just watch how I’ll destroy him!’

Seeing Qin Tuo’s calm and composed appearance, Wang Lei’s face hardened as he said,

"Also, you were late for work today. I’m docking half a month’s salary. Any objections?"

Hearing this, the other employees in the sales department broke into mocking smiles.

"This kid... He shouldn’t have pissed off the boss. Now he’s worked for half a month for nothing!"

"Heh, who can he blame? He’s just getting what he deserves. Not worthy of sympathy."

Han Zilin, on the other hand, looked like she wanted to speak but hesitated, wanting to say a few good words for Qin Tuo.

But Qin Tuo just smiled casually, seemingly not bothered in the slightest.

To him, that little bit of salary was nothing. If Wang Lei wanted to dock it, let him.

Seeing Qin Tuo’s indifferent expression, a strange anger flared up in Wang Lei’s heart.

"Qin Tuo, go ahead and be arrogant for now. When you fail to sign that contract, you’ll still have to get the hell out of this company. And this time, you won’t get lucky again!"

Wang Lei sneered, spat out his threat, and then left.

Arriving at her workstation, Han Zilin was clearly extremely nervous and couldn’t help but ask,

"Brother Tu, do you need my help? It’s like this... a senior from my high school is an executive at Qingmei Group. He might be able to help with this."

But Qin Tuo shook his head and smiled.

"Zilin, don’t worry about it. I don’t need your help. I can handle this completely on my own."

Seeing his overly confident appearance, Han Zilin couldn’t help but give a wry smile inwardly.

However, she didn’t know that Qin Tuo had actually handed this matter over to Long Wu yesterday, explaining the critical points of the situation to him.

And by now, Long Wu had likely already made arrangements, so there was no need for Han Zilin to run around for this.

Qin Tuo didn’t look worried at all; in fact, he even seemed to be in a good mood.

When his other colleagues saw this, they all sneered inwardly!

They were all waiting for Qin Tuo to screw up the contract and then get kicked out of the sales department.

However, Han Zilin still felt uneasy. While Qin Tuo wasn’t looking, she secretly went to a corner and took out her phone.

"Hello? Han Zilin, is that you?"

A deep male voice, sounding somewhat surprised, came from the other end of the line.

Han Zilin said nervously,

"Senior Liu Qiang, it’s me. I need your help with something. I’ll be sure to thank you properly after it’s done."

There was a moment of silence on the other end, followed by a response.

"How about this? Why don’t you come to my company so we can talk in person?"

Han Zilin nodded and agreed.

Afraid of being discovered by Qin Tuo, she quickly hung up the phone.

"Zilin, what are you doing?"

Qin Tuo called out.

Han Zilin walked back with her head lowered, looking a bit guilty.

"Brother Tu, I have to step out for a bit."

Han Zilin forced a smile.

Qin Tuo didn’t think much of it and nodded.

"Alright. Remember to call me if you need anything!"

Then, Han Zilin quickly ran out of the company, hailed a cab by herself, and went to Qingmei Company.

Walking down the hallway of Qingmei Company, Han Zilin was extremely nervous.

This senior, Liu Qiang, was now the sales department manager at Qingmei Company.

If he agreed to help, then there shouldn’t be any problem with today’s contract.

Han Zilin knocked lightly on the office door.

"Come in..."

As soon as she walked in, she saw her senior, Liu Qiang, dressed in an expensive suit, sitting in the sales manager’s chair, his eyes unabashedly sizing her up.

"Senior, I hope you can help get the contract signed. I’ll definitely thank you properly afterward!"

After a few sentences of small talk, Han Zilin got straight to the point.

However, Liu Qiang just sneered, showing his true colors.

"Han Zilin, I never thought you’d end up as a common little salesperson. You’re doing pretty poorly for yourself, aren’t you!"

Han Zilin was so embarrassed her ears turned red, and she couldn’t say a word.
